Blue Plate Special
Переглядів 2121 день тому
Trying something new. Found some cheap plates at antique stores this past week while on vacation around the Finger Lakes. The first one to try it was a male Downey woodpecker. The sparrows and wrens were not afraid of it, but it took the blue jays a couple of attempts before going over to grab a treat. The night mouse likes it, took all the peanuts overnight!! It might have an enemy with the wo...

Serious Cardinal Lovers Only!!

We had an interesting experience with a cardinal family lately. Dad brought the "kids" to our backyard and started chirping. We put some peanuts out and they have been back everyday. I know it 's a long video but if you have some patience and watch all the way through there are some very sweet moments. Enjoy!!

@@MyOutdoorWildlife thank you for watching and commenting. 💙🐦
Danny Detweeto, love it! It's nice seeing the birds stop by.
Unfortunately, we haven't seen Danny since last winter 😢. We are hopeful that this is one of his offspring. 😊 Thanks for watching and commenting. 💙🐦
I see your woodpecker😄
@@MyaYard first one to find it!! Love these little woodpeckers!! 💙🐦
@@Mark-8587 Ya, they are pretty cute! My favorite are still the pileated though, they are so dramatic!😄
Very cute. I just can't believe how long those peanuts are sitting there 😄 guess everyone is waiting for the good stuff😉
@MyaYard Only the bluejays seem to want the ones in the shell, even the downy woodpecker doesn't take them.
Sharing is caring 😁
Thank you for watching and commenting! 💙🐦

Beautiful sound of water and I see you have a humming bird feeder. we don't get humming birds. Lovely garden.
@elizabethmcgrath6198 Sorry you don't get hummingbirds, they can be quite entertaining! Thank you for watching and commenting! ❤️🐦

Thank you. That was delightful. But I must watch it again. Occasionally I was distracted by your wonderful temperatures. But beautiful video. Thanks again.
Sorry, I normally edit the bottom info out, but there were so many videos, I decided to leave them in.🤣🥵
@@Mark-8587 No! I loved it.
I am a serious cardinal lover and they are adorable! The ones here never want to go that close to the camera, guess they are shy.
I think with us feeding them during the winter, they are used to this location. We were amazed when the 3 young ones all showed up all together. That's a first for us! Thanks for watching, even though it's a long video.
@@Mark-8587 They really are so sweet ~ Out of all the birds, cardinals are the cutest when they feed each other!
More to come! Thanks for watching and commenting!
so cute
Beautiful video
Thanks for watching and commenting! ❤🦋
Maybe I know what type of flowers they are?
@@Taylor_the_birder what are they?
1:03 checking out the flowers! We're so happy to see this, it's why we planted them!! ❤❤
That is so awesome, so happy for you guys! That was really sweet💕
I’m so happy for you and the Hummingbirds, Mark! 😁🥰 What are those flowers, by the way? Also, how close are these flowers to the ground? Anyway, thanks for sharing! 🤗❤🐦
@BirdsandGhibliFan the big red one is a zinnia, corn flowers cosmos, they were just a wildflower mix we kind of tossed around and hoped for the best! They vary in height from about 18" to over 5'! Thanks for watching, Brianna! ❤️🐦🌼
Very cute - looks like your bugs are almost as big as she is😆 Flowers are looking great!
@MyaYard I guess it's not just a hummingbird feeder, bees love it too.
So. Where are the raisins?
They ate them all! Every last one! 😂
Very vibrant Hummingbird! 🥰 I also loved the Cardinal fetching an insect snack from the ant moat (looked like a Cicada). 😄😆 Thanks for sharing, Mark! 🤗❤🐦
@BirdsandGhibliFan I think it's a first year hummingbird, they are always fresh and new looking. 🤣 The ant moat has been attracting a lot of insects and the other birds figured out it's like a buffet. That's the first seeing a Cardinal on this feeder, usually the sparrows clean it out. Thanks for watching, Brianna! ❤️🐦
Love the misty view, especially with the Cardinals and Goldfinches feeding in the misty sunrise.😶🌫️🌁🌄 Thanks for sharing, Mark! 🤗❤🐦

I'm sure the pollinators love you for it❤🐝🦋

Capt. Jack Sparrow😁
Now that's funny!!😂😂❤❤
What a great view! :) Love the hummingbirds! I get bugs in my moat too...But I always end up cleaning them out myself...lol!! How interesting and smart that your birds have figured out that the moat in the hummingbird feeder can hold additional food for them. Thanks for sharing! What fun this was to watch.
Directly underneath this feeder, we planted a butterfly and bee garden. It has been attracting lots of insects. The birds have been picking them out and must have seen the ones in this feeder. In past years, they never got bugs out of this feeder, we had to clean them out. Thanks for watching!
@@Mark-8587 Nice of them to help you out...if only I could find something that likes to eat dust bunnies!🤔
@MyaYard, let me know if you find something. We could use a hand with them, they multiply faster than regular bunnies!😂😂
🤣
Very nice. I've always liked sparrows, though I'm not certain why. Thanks.
They remind me of the birds in the movie "A Bugs Life". It's fascinating to watch them twist their heads side to side to look down into the moat for food. Thanks for watching.
So sweet! :) Awesome video, Mark. Thank you for sharing. Happy Monday :)
Thanks for watching and commenting!
They do look better shimmering in the sun but they all are so sweet!
I just wish we had more coming around, we only see about 1 a day. 😢
That might be a good thing though, maybe there are lots of flowers and natural food sources around for them this year
@MyaYard good point!! We'll go with that reason!😂
Magical. Thank you.
amazingly beautiful
Oh, my gosh? His wings look like an optical illusion! How does he do that? 🤯 LOL 😆 Thanks for sharing, Mark! 🤗❤🐦
Flapping very fast!!
Ya, that was pretty crazy!
Very nice! These look like fountains that Hummingbirds will love. Thanks for sharing, Mark! 🤗❤🐦⛲️
I hope so!
Fairytale birds
They are quite magical! Thanks for watching and commenting!!❤️🐦
That is so sweet, love the sound of them just flying around too - great setup!
Thank you! If we are outside and hear that sound, we're like, is that a hummingbird or a bumble bee. 😂
I heard some buzzing outside my window last night - june bugs were having a party😆not quite as cute
Love the lilacs, can't wait to see the pollinator garden!
The lilacs smell fantastic and are beautiful, but the flowers don't last long. 😢 Hoping to see butterflies again this year!! ❤️🦋
Very calm. Very peaceful. Thank you very much.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
That's awesome, I love groundhogs - hope we get to see more of him in the future! Beautiful birds too!
The Mrs. was like, "What the heck was that?" we have no idea where it went either! 😂😂
😂You'll have to start putting out carrots now🥕
Very beautiful! There are definitely no such birds in our area
Thanks for watching. I guess I never thought about what countries have hummingbirds. You have beautiful birds that we don't have here, if it's any consolation. 😬🤣❤🐦⬛
My Dad said one time that this call from the Red-Winged Blackbirds sound like a 4th of July firework. 🎆🎇😄 Thanks for sharing, Mark! 🤗❤🐦
Now that you mention that, they do!! Thanks for watching, Brianna. 🧨❤️🐦⬛
