I could prob do that if I increased the time limit, actually, since it takes me 22 minutes to slay a normal 20k safi in a solo quest.

That just gave me a diabolical idea: Safi, Ala, Fatty, all AT and scaled to four players. I’m def making that quest when I get home.

For certain monsters the best way to optimize DPS is tenderizing certain parts and focusing on them. I'll use Ruiner for an example. Tenderizing his left hand and focusing on it prevents him from doing certain instantaneous moves and also does certain moves that give the biggest openings. Another example would be Lunastra, tenderizing her wings and solely focusing on aerial attacks with Windproof as Capcom in their infinite wisdom decided to make her wings a weakpoint instead of the head. With this strat I can kill a 20k HP Lunastra in about 4 minutes if I play perfectly. I'd also recommend bringing certain skills that will help shorten hunts: Effluvium Resistance for the Vaals, Blast Resistance for the Brachys, and Mind's Eye for monsters like Behemoth so their hardened parts don't make your weapon bounce and you eat the next attack. If you have full Fatalis (or you want to minmax Kulve and AT Velkhana gear), I'd also recommend Attack Boost, Critical Eye, Agitator, Critical Boost, Weakness Exploit, and Peak Performance for your damage, with Evade Window to dodge into attacks and continue a combo in the monster's opening. My main piece of advice, is learn the monster's moveset. Learning their moveset and mastering your own will gradually reveal to you certain optimal combos you can do during openings, and what the best attack is for said openings. For example, whenever I fight Alatreon I usually Descending Thrust his thunder attacks for the Kinsect Drill to do as much elemental damage as possible in that opening, something I learned after fighting him over a hundred times.

True Fatalis Dyaus with the Gae Bolg layered skin. I switched to Kjarr Glaive Ice for the first Alatreon and Kjarr Glaive King for the last one.

I think you can manually change the weather of quests in the Quest Editor. Given the title, I'd imagine the author deliberately chose to have it rain during this quest.

Yeah Scarred in this game is its own monster in name only. It's basically Tempered Yian, shares research levels with Yian, has one unique item used to make Yian's gear, etc. Like you said, he fits the role of a Tempered Yian well, so well in fact that he only appears Tempered and Tempered Yian is not a thing.

Lol. I'll make the educated guess that you don't like Yian?

I honestly prefer normal Yian over Scarred. The hitboxes on those fireballs can be bit wonky sometimes.

My biggest tip for increasing your skill in this game is to learn monster's movesets. Fight them over and over until you learn it, and if you're using a new weapon, it'll also give you the opportunity to learn your moveset as well. You'll also learn exactly what to do when the monster does certain things. How long openings are, dodge timings, how many attacks you can get off before the monster does something else. All of these skills come from repeated hunts. I have this skill to where I can no-hit Alatreons because I've slayed him over a hundred times (not counting the fails). This is my biggest tip for enjoying MHW. My other tip is Evade Window is key for some of the later monsters, and is the skill that allows me to dodge into monsters attacks without being hit. Since you're a beginner, I would recommend getting the Evade Window charm as soon as possible and keeping it upgraded as you go along.

Well I got 2 AT Alatreon quests from different authors to do, as well as a quest I made myself. Also a small quest pack with AT monsters in them. But for quest packs specifically, I’m going to do EX Quest Pack and mhg custom quests after I finish the other ones I have listed on the post I made.

I personally found it boring, but to each their own.

I haven't played that game a much but the visuals just feel to colorful, the effect of the monsters attacks look arcade like, and most of the monsters attacks are too slow or nerfed like Rajang and Velkhana. I like the monsters in that game but it felt like some should've been in MHW:I and Wilds

Lore wise alatraon stomps But pit the monsters against each other with their in-game mechanics and shara destroys almost everyone (except fatalis of course because hot fire breath is overkill)
