I think you might be very anti English, my friend. I live in East London, and I rarely hear an English person speaking, so you won't get an idea of how English people really are. People visiting England say to me that they are disappointed when they come because they didn't get to meet any true English people. We are taught to respect people's space in London so we can come across standoffish, but we're not, really. If you go up north and speak to a true northaner, they are generally much warmer and friendly. I personally think a lot of European countries are much nicer to live in than England, and I know a lot of English feel the same, so if you think we run around believing ourselves better than other countries, you are very wrong. Our culture has been destroyed, and we work like dogs to keep our expensive, overpriced roofs over our heads. People are tired after working long 12 hour shifts and don't have the energy or time to cook. Both parents have to work, so children have to go into nursery care, and because we are all working to survive, we aren't able to care for our elderly. We are taxed and find to death in this country for every little thing, and even basics like gas and electricity are extremely expensive. That's why we go to other countries to live. In the hope of a slower, simpler, and more traditional way of life like the people in that country enjoy. All those lovely traditions you spoke about in Slovenia were once ours, too. Now we are just an overcrowded, fast paste, money-making machine, and the people that come are only here to make money. There is no community spirit because no one cares about the country, just what they can take from it. I was planning to visit Slovenia on a road trip around Europe, so I hope it's as lovely as you say. 😊

There is your answer in one sentence and that is why the EU has declined over 50% economically compared to the USA in just 20 years. Europe under the EU has been a dreadful failure for the last 40 years and sadly the speed of failure is growing every year. You don't have to be very bright to look at the figures and realise very little is working as it should be, we need a lot less EU and welfare and a lot more USA.
