Did pretty much the same list (plus driveshafts) for a customer, last 2 days. Have to say it was a fair mission between dicking with the shaft boots & freeing off the stuck-fast torsion bar tensioners. The welding work was straightforwards but for me, replacing the inner tie-rods or more so persuading the new rubber boots into position was a right pita - access to the steering rack to get the seal on & over is rubbish.

When I flush a cooling system I use central heating system flush from screwfix, run it up to temp then dump, repeat 2 or 3 times 👍

What coolant did you put in the t4

@russ walker best way to clean the header tank is block the holes up. and use steradent tablets put 3/4 in and hot water leave it for a food few hours rinse out. works a treat.

Working on the van outdoirs in winter is a nightmare. Everything is already brittle after 25+ years. I hate to mention it, but if you have a wet floor liner, the chances are the windscreen is leaking. Are the seat bases rusty? That is usually another sign. Crankcase breather running up the plastic valve that sits on the cam cover. I did mine a couple of years ago. The rubber grommet that the pcv valve sits on atop the camshaft cover is also another source of leaks. Easy fix. I replace them every 3 years using the Elring ones.

I purchased four Febi fuel filters. After an issue fitting the valve to the first filter I returned the rest. Never had an issue with Bosch fuel filters. Febi parts are not as good as they used to be. I'm disappointed to see this is still a problem over 12 months after I raised the issue with the motor factor. I actually asked them to make their Febi Bilstein rep aware of the problem. It's really annoying to think how many people have been inconvenienced by this fault that should have been rectified by now.

The radiator lifts vertically out onto the bumper in service mode.

Great update, I have the welding to attend to also at some point, but wheel bearings and rear brake/calipers needs attention first 🙈

It looks so much better even after the first wash. I got a T3 Syncro which was covered in dust, mud, & grease. It took a month to clean it all plus all the driveline, brakes etc.

Awesome vid. So glad that you showed us how to take the door panel and trims off. Inspired me to buy a trim removal kit, lol. I have a 2005 VW lt35 lwb campervan. I just got it a few weeks ago. It is also loud when driving. Though not as loud as my 1996 T4 that I am fixing to sell soon. Thanks again, like the new panel van that you just bought looks awesome.
