Pro gear changes there bud 👍👍
be safe bro
i love every z4 :)
Mine will go 110 or so but can't stand the engine screammin... 😅
Your speedo is broken... 😊
Is this Arizona?
Bulgaria!
@@delukxy Cool!
What's your ring and pinion on your transmission
Stock 1200L transmission with 4.37 diff and 0.93 for the 4th gear. It gives 87...88 km/h at 3000 rpm in 4th gear on 195/65/15 rear tires. Engine is capable of 6000...6200 rpm, but I don''t push it above 5500 rpm.
@@nikgt8244 isn't the gap between 3rd & 4th to wide?
@@bubot17 No! Look at 2.15 min of the video where I overtaking a car in 3rd and then shift to 4th. In 1200L 3rd gear is 1.26 and 4th gear is 0.93. In the old 1200 gearboxes, as well in Type 1 1500 and Type 3 gearboxes, the 3rd gear is 1.32 and 4th gear is 0.89, i.e. wider and here do exist a gap between 3rd and 4th! In my opinion an 1200L gearbox with 4.12 diff would be ideal for a mild performance 1600 engine in a Bug, Type 3 or Karmann Ghia.
@@nikgt8244 thank you for the information brother
Que show
What is a transmission?
Sweet ❤❤❤
Is it still 1584CC or is it a stroker/bored?
The egine is type AS 1600 c.c?
@@pavloschatziergatis9464 No. The original D case 1200cc engine was converted to 1600cc. Post 1970s 1200cc D cases are good.
Fastest car in the world.
What a unique sound!
It wants to rev to 6000
Hunred sixteen thousand kilometers or just sixteen? For an old car sixteen is very little. And cars from that year reset after hundred thousand kilometers
16k, white number is 100m
About a little bit faster than me on my bike jk. Yeah right I wish! Your VW would fly past me with the quickness lol
What about stability? Like, how was it to drive such an old car at those speeds? Scary, or not so much?
I feel very comfortable. The Beetle is very stable except in the case of severe side wind. In fact, I feel more relaxed and comfortable in the Beetle than in my VW Golf MK1 Cabrio 112HP.
@@nikgt8244 usually, VW cars are very good in the motorways. I sometimes like to drive down the motorway in my second car, a B4 Passat Variant, which is way mote modern than thr beetles but still almost 30 years old and sometimes I am baffled on how well it cruises, almost as a brand new car does. VW's of old were very well thought out.
Wild. I've never seen a Beetle this quick. What speed was this?
Some rushed math says around 135-140km/h, assuming the truck wasn't speeding. Edit: should clarify this is when he passes the truck at 0:15
@@vannancoull-barnes4997 Right. Most of the time the speed was 140 km/h. The Beetle top speed is 160 km/h (measured by GPS) with the original 1200 gearbox (4.37 diff/0.93 4th gear).
@@nikgt8244 Wasn't expecting to be correct lol. Based it off of the length, rated speed, and average length of the truck if you or anyone is interested
@@vannancoull-barnes4997 The good old math
Do you have caster shims? Or heavy duty sway bars?
No, I don't, but stability at higher speeds is OK. At least on good roads.
@@nikgt8244 nice to know that 👍
Sweet music
Quite an improvement over my 1979 convertible. It went 83 mph once going slightly downhill.
too fast
What's the BHP
What speed?
Jimmy crickets man, that's Awesome!
Wow man!
Sounds great! And seems fast also
For a low compression 1600 it looks like it pulls really well.
My Dad had a '71 Super Beetle 3 sp manumatic. I might have the details wrong, I didn't like the car and only drove it if I were desperate. It was a stick with no clutch pedal. It would do zero to 60 in about 2 miles if the road was flat and there was a good tailwind. The car in the video seems significantly faster.
did you change the gear ratios or doesit just rev really high?
Not a reliable oil pressure gage i assume, considering the revs needed for such rolling acceleration.
No that's correct. All my vw engines stock or modified never pas 4 bars when they're hot.
Your beetle accelerates like a golf gti😮
it basically is
Fantastic...
Thanks!
the founder of VW would be impressed...
do you know who founded vw?
@@sean07de2k24 yes
@@sean07de2k24 Ferdinand Porsche, co-founded by the German Government
How much HP?
Some
The acceleration and elasticity (0-100km/h ... 0-120km/h, 80-120km/h etc.) of the Beetle is very close to the Ford Fiesta MK1 XR2 84hp. The curb weight of the Beetle and Fiesta MK1 XR2 is practically the same (780 kilos vs 800 kilos). The main difference is in the gearing and drag coefficient (0.48 drag for the Beetle vs 0.43 drag for the Fiesta MK1 XR2) which results in higher top speed of the Fiesta MK1 XR2. So, the Beetle should be something like 80...82hp.
@@nikgt8244 That is great for a bug
Still quickernthan my granmas caravan.
Starts accelerating at 0:05 & reaches 100 Kp/h at 0:16. It's accelerating faster than my car xD + 0-50 is insane 😮
Starts accelerating slightly before 0:06 and reaches true 100 km/h slightly before 0:16 = roughly 10sec 0-100km/h. Best 0-100km/h time measured by GPS speedo is 9.8sec so far.
@@nikgt8244 some people might be critical trying to compare it with $1 million supercar but to be honest for what it is and the year of it. That’s pretty impressive. Sounds good too❤
That thing sounds badass 😆
Even tho it might be slow it seems very fast for me
Might be slow? My 180 HP diesel doesnt accelerate as fast....
0-100 km/h in 10 seconds is fairly quick
@louiejonesponationdefinitely not a stock 1600 …..
Its fast af boi
Wow ❤
