Toyota Prius GEN 4 2016-2022 water pump removal/install
If your Prius is having a meltdown it might just be the water pump...
Here is the video of the guy talking about changing just the impeller.

I found these on Amazon but all the part numbers were for gen 3, I couldn't find any part numbers for gen 4.

I only needed to change the rotor, no need to replace the shell holding it. Moreover the 'aftermarket parts' can also be 'problematic' if not come with heat sink paste for spreading built up heat to electronics.
I just took out my 2018 water pump using a pray bar. It was so easy. Thanks for your video!!!
Thank you! If you're up in MA, i got your lunch & lodging for the weekend. Legit! You just saved me $2k!!!
Glad I could help!
How you bleed the system?
I just let drain out what would. Is it supposed to be bled?
@@CarstenAlmskaar717 yes you should bleed the engine coolant system for any air locks
How many miles was your Prius?
Around 145k at the time
Well done! Thank you for the vid. Im wondering how that bolt hole got stripped. Could it be something from the factory? Pretty strange. Cheers!
This car had a salvage title. Before this there was a coolant leak at the connection going thru the firewall to the heater core, I took the hose off and found the metal line a bit squished. I think this could be from an engine swap
Hi mate gen 3 rotor fits gen 4 no issues at all. I have done few
Cool, i had a hunch. Thanks
Wow thanks to your video, I just changed my pump. I’d owe you lunch 😂😂🙏
Did you do the pry bar method as what he mentioned in the video?
@@Jethrumi I did use a prying device to just get enough room to get the pump in and out, yes.
Added A Wood Block Between The Frame And Engine. Had My Son Pull The Water Pump Out From Top While I Used The Pry Bar From The Bottom To Move The Engine.
thank you so much for a video of gen 4
It's a good video.
