It`s amazing how this great Margaritaville panned out...I've lived in Old Naples Beach for 55 years and we have wondered over the years how long the (OLD STRUCTORS) on Ft. Myer`s Beach could possibly survive in a massive Hurricane! We got our answer!...Margaritaville is a major plus, at the perfect time... As an old Fort Myers Beacher (actually we spent a month there for almost 30 years before our place disappeared) I was up and down about this development. It represents a new age for the old Beach. We always said FMB was the blue collar beach and Sanibel is where you would find the pretty people. The good thing is the revenue it will bring to the city, but will also take away the good old days of getting to know the old timers and their tales. I'm too old to come back but I will always remember coming across that bridge to what was our retirement spot to get away from the norther snows. All that said, a great video. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the amazing footage. I watch a lot of drone footage, And I’m certainly no expert, but your footage has a very steady hand. In this world of superficiality and rushing, You did not rush us through our experience to study the true devastation and rebuilding. You paused the drone at key points so that we could study areas like the wavy wall. I feel like I know this area much better now. The devastation around minute 7:27 is depressing. As well as the devastation around minutes 13 to 15. You can certainly see the “haves and the have Nots…” …And who was able to rebuild. Some homes look brand new, or their rebuild was well done. Sending best wishes and prayers to those affected. Thank you again for the great footage, and I hope the city reaches out to you to get permission to archive this important time in city history.

Pitiful. So many businesses gone or destroyed beyond recognition. After a year the gulf is likely still a toxic stew, why are people in the water swimming?

FMB is a second home to my family. We stay at Carlos Point, on the very south end. That poor north end and Times Square. Crazy how the south end lost beach, and the north end gained a ton it looks like. The storm surge difference is insane.

Doesn't look appreciably better a year later. Anyone who builds back, or builds anew, is going to be on the hook for the next big one as insurance will either be unavailable or come with astronomical premiums and big deductibles. It was crazy before but with global climate change, rising sea levels, and more and stronger hurricanes, only a fool would put money in there.

The owners knew how to buy, but not how to rebuild. They will be forced to sell to unscrupulous buyers - you should know who they are. The same that will be buying up Maui.
