This was just a random video with random thoughts that I wanted to share from my perspective, which is of course subjective. But maybe you’ll find something in here that interests you or you’ll find an answer to a question.
I am by no means an expert on this country. And I don’t think I’ve lived her long enough to speak about it. But I’m doing it anyway just because all of the travel vlogs I see are pretty shallow so I hope to add some depth here.
I wasn’t planning on making a part 3, but I woke up and decided to because I’ve gotten a lot of questions and I’ve done my best to respond to them all. Parts of this video can be found in part 1 & 2 but I tried to bring up new topics.
Anyway, I just got laid off. So, if you know anyone looking for a full-time copywriter please reach out.
And before anyone comes at me on some bullshit, no I’m not promoting illegal stuff. I’m just stating what I’ve observed.
And for the people who’ve been commenting about the audio, quality, lighting, etc. I’m not getting paid for these videos so please stop complaining about free information.
That’s all.

Question since you've been living in Tirana for 7 whole years so since 2017 on a scale of 1 (literally no change) to 10 (damn, this place is different) how much would you say the city has changed and developed in that time frame?

@@MrKevanHudson thank u! I'm in between Lisbon (big digital nomad community but getting $$$) and tirana rn and this helps. I just don't wanna move somewhere and be alone in my apartment 😭😂
@@ThatGirl-cs1gt oh no 😂 all the black people here have been pretty introverted and keep to themselves from what I’ve seen. We don’t all meet up but I think we all know of each other. At the moment I have only 1 black friend and I see her once every 2 months maybe. And the other black people I know, I haven’t seen since last year. Granted we’ve all lived in Albania for a while and have our own lives. I’m sure there are new black people that have moved here in the last 2-3 years and they’re probably apart of the expat groups online. I just haven’t seen them. And the ones coming on vacation (50/50 chance) don’t even do the head nod when you pass them on the street. Which is crazy to me. I can say the ones that have a community to me and hang out are the French speaking black people. Or the ones that play soccer. What I can say is that this is the place where I’ve met the most African Americans in Europe for some strange reason and a lot of them have been LGBT+ which I wouldn’t have expected
Thank you so much for this. I was pretty dead set on Portugal but I thought let me look up other options and stumbled on Albania cause of the digital nomad visa, still doing research

Hi Kevan. Are there any makeup artists amongst your black friends in Tirana?
Amongst my friends, no. But I have a black friend who does hair and she probably knows where to go. I guess she might know how to do makeup too, but I've never asked..
Living in another country vs. visiting other countries just means you are not well traveled. Lived in six countries thus far and visited 27 others. Visiting is where broadening cultural appreciation/perspective takes place.
I'm not sure what your comment has to do with this video. This video is about a specific country and how things work here so being well-traveled isn't relevant. Being well-traveled doesn't make you informed and doesn't give you enough information to have an accurate depiction of the country because you have to learn the language, understand the history, and interact with locals enough in the local language to understand how people think. I do agree that being well-traveled can change your perspective and teach you new things. For those looking to visit Albania they can check the "travel vlogs". But a lot of people are trying to move here and I haven't found anyone saying anything of depth in their UA-cam videos. Most of them talk about prices, food, and places to go sightseeing. Which you can learn with a quick Google search. The idea is to give information that you can only ascertain from the experience of living in a place. I assume this comment is about you. I'm interested in how you've learned the language of each country you've lived in.
@@MrKevanHudson Since nuance evades your grasp, your confusion is understandable.
@@The-Contractor That’s the exact type of avoidance I expected.
How is the WiFi?
@@mxingram2120 It really depends. It’s good enough to teach English online. If there is a power outage then of course it’ll go out. My wifi has gone out twice in the last 2 months. The last time it was out for like 4 hours. But I’m using Vodafone. There are other companies. I pay about $14 for 200 Mbps. And every cafe has wifi so if you’re ever in trouble you can walk 60 seconds to find it. I wouldn’t worry about wifi unless your job depends on making video calls all day. Plus you can use your phone as a hotspot in case of emergency. Internet isn’t expensive. I just got 10 gigs for $15. And I’m over paying for my phone internet.
@@MrKevanHudson thank you

@@FEEBO2025 It’s an option for some. There’s a community here too. But it’s definitely not a good option for effeminate men in general. I wouldn’t even suggest effeminate straight men to come here. Be specific. Lying about what
@@MrKevanHudson About the Albanians being friendly towards you. I watched a video in which another black guy said that every day he was there in Albania they would call him N**** and Zeng**. They wouldn't let him in a bar and laugh at him. You paint a completely different picture. You portray your experience as perfect… A bit odd, innit? There have also been reports of a Kenyan girl being attacked and raped in Albania. They seem to be hostile, especially to black people.
@@MrKevanHudson I wrote a short paragraph to your question, but UA-cam apparently deleted the comment. Don't know why. @@carloslindberg630 I never said that people don’t say the n-word here. I know the UA-camr you’re talking about. People say the n-word here because they are ignorant af. I know people who have been attacked here as well for being black. I never denied this. Also I had mutual acquaintances with that Kenyan girl. She died unfortunately. But I didn’t lie about anything. And yes I have also been denied entry to a bar but not because I’m black it’s because I didn’t have girls with me. Americans have not been taught even the English parts of speech for 40+ years, let alone overall grammar. It’s pathetic.
This is VERY true and it's quite sad.
@@MrKevanHudson I was taught English grammar by an angry fellow who threw things at us 6th graders if we couldn’t parse a sentence. It stuck with me. In my 40s, the 1980s, I studied linguistics at a major university, still an undergrad, but my professors were in awe that I knew this stuff. They sent PhD candidates to find me on campus and throw Chomsky puzzles at me, then they’d go back and report. 🙂 One very senior prof invited me to join a PhD seminar in Japanese structures, and first class sesh, he strode in, asked the dozen or so assembled to name “an English part of speech”. He wheeled around, pointing at me and said, “Not you!” After a long pause, one brave fellow raised his hand and said, “gerund?” Prof turned and looked at me, and threw up his hands.
