Misery Signals - Furnace Fest 2024 - Full Set
This band is what got me started. I remember hearing "Of Malice and the Magnum Heart" for the first time and hating it because I didn't understand it. Gave it a few more listens and it quite literally changed my life. I decided I was on a quest to learn from this band's formula because there was just something so special about their songwriting. So melodic yet so heavy. Every segment of their songs would just flow so perfectly into each other. The perfect balance of salty and sweet. Whatever you want to say, but MS had it.
There will never be another band quite like them and that's okay. Thank you for all the legendary music and good times, Misery Signals. RIP.
This was the next to last performance on American soil. They played a secret show that same night at Workplay in Birmingham, but tickets were sold out. Super bummed I couldn't make it, but glad I managed to catch their first set.
I was honored to be there to witness history at Furnace Fest 2024 while also being a vendor for my company Study Sound Audio. What a weekend!
I eq'd the audio a hair to bring out a little more low end and mids for the guitars. Sorry for the shaky video at some parts. I was standing on a hand rail so the middle of my feet were in pain for 45 minutes. Enjoy!

MIDI Riff Monday - Riff 6 Can the single coil pickup position on my Carvin be used for heavy stuff? Short answer, YES! There are many use cases for the single coil switch or pickup position on your guitar and you can still get heavy sounds from it! I used Axure GMP for extra rhythm layers on this riff. My Era in ERRA - How ERRA got signed
Crying and headbanging right now. I consider them my big 4 of metal. Sad that I never got to see them. Wish they would have come here in Asia. Misery Signals forever.
Amazing man, Branden is the best metalcore drummer, nice riffs, check my cover in my channel
I love these clips!!! Your riffs are always inspiring!!
Beautiful bliss bro 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
Bro the motivational recorder speech at the end had me 💀💀💀
Would Alex ever write a song with you again you think? Either way, I'd love if you got these riffs on a cd so the laser in my walkman could transport them to my ears
Honestly, he probably would. At least for a writing credit, but it’s possible! Haha I still have a Sony Walkman Cassette player.
@@AlanRigdon just thinking how cool it could be to get his take on some of your ideas again. Either way, I'm loving the clips and riff ideas
Sick riffs, truly a slept on guitarist imo
Rock on brotha 😎🤘
This is sick Alan! -Ralph

@@Nairod-ks6ne Yeah it is! Head over to studysoundaudio.com we have a sale going on right now too!
I first heard erra in 2012 when i was a freshman in highschool lol. I remember being in math class. Our teacher at the time allowed us to have our phones/ipods out during classwork and i remember Erra Impulse popped up on my phone while i was searching new metal music and ever since that day i knew you guys would be one of my fav bands for a lifetime. Loved hearing all this back story man. Much love 🤟🏼
Dude this is amazing
We need full version
Never heard or even know who misery signals is...gonna have to check them out now 🤘🤘
@@yohanmcelroy4549 You won’t regret it!
Please do more content. SUBSCRIBED : )
I'm 45 if you love Misery Signals please look up two of the artists earlier project called 7Angels7Plaques. Researching what happened to 7A7P took me to Misery Signals. I hope this helps some of you. I love all the artists
Friend you are also an artist, I'm new and hearing you speak of your talents i thought he left out artist I am 45 at 17 or 18 I found these musicians/artists. Called 7 Angels 7 Plaques. I loved them i looked up where they were now and two of the artists are in Misery Signals, you can hear the similarities.
It's awesome to see that you've been following them for so long, they truly are amazing musicians! Thanks for watching!
Forever and always my favourite heavy band. RIP.
hey alan how u doing? i'd like to ask u for some good synths or vsts in general for creating atmosphere, or background and some melodies on prog metalcore and djent, thank u, u're awesome!
@@landude Doing great! I would look into Omnisphere or anything from Analog Lab.
@@AlanRigdon nice to hear that, tysm! i will look for that, keep it up!
What an absolutely special day
Mate for someone who will never see them again, this is as close to closure as I am getting! Thank you
Literally same
Wow. Alan realty puts the creativity and heart into overdrive. This short has that sound that really draws you in that some albums cant even do. It still holds true to this day what a staple in the genre Alan is and has been for a long time. Once a legend always a legend. Also the tone is 🔥
Legend for archiving this thank you
I'd love to chat with you some time for real.
Hair has to be long enough to touch the strings for slight muting effect. Key point for this tone.
Exactly 🤣
Ryan’s riffs are like wizardry, that end of Five Years. Chills every time.
💯%
Actually Stu wrote that one
@@jxcobaniki6709 Stu is a genius as well. The whole band are genius’.
14:45 that dude pushes the other guy into the crowd then dives in and it doesn't look like he gets caught 😵💫 I remember seeing Misery Signals in Melbourne at the HI Fi Bar, that one set changed the way i saw and thought about heavy progressive music, musically and rhythmically these guys are extraordinary, one of my those band ill always go back to, RIP.
There was a lot of people not getting caught the whole weekend. I agree man, they were the best to ever do it.
Can confirm. There was multiple people that people tried to catch but couldn’t and I saw multiple people hit the ground. Or I saw people staging diving onto people already being held up. Causing a double drop. Great weekend and set!
LEGENDS
Getting on stage for Five Years was magical. Getting a last minute ticket to the secret show at Workplay was like heaven on earth. RIP Mis Sigs man... one of the greatest to ever do it
Thank you for recording , this is amazing
The crowd for their set was nuts
Dude, the last song everyone piled up like ants. So cool to see!
@@AlanRigdon yeah it was nuts, I was in the crowd getting pushed like crazy. Good times
this is awesome, thanks so much big rig!!!!
I feel like I'm watching a moving renaissance painting during that Five Years ending bit. Blood is truly for fucking ever!!!! Much love from Canada!
farewell missigs, thank you for everything <3
Thanks for everything Misery Signals. Thanks for uploading. RIP brothers💎🩵🌲
The best band to ever do it. Glad we seem to agree! Augment is on that same tier for me <3
Forever the goats
Dude, I cannot thank you enough for this. Watching from the other side of the world and wishing I was there. Blood is forever 🖤
You’re welcome! I figured fans from all over would like to see one of their last US performances ever. BIF 💜
Misery Signals' live energy is unmatched
What kind of pliers are they?
Gunpla plyers. I collect and build Gunpla as well. I’m a nerd.
Fuuucking yes. This. Band.
Dang what a great show.. this band left a mark on many many souls and will be forever engraved as one of the pioneers of the genre Here's a quick fun story I caught them at Netherlands this summer and had a few words Ryan afterwards and asked him about you and if he knew about your part in Erra, because you two had a great influence on my sound. He said of course and that he respects you and the band. Idk if you know him personally but there's that haha
Wow, that’s pretty amazing if that’s true! Not saying you’re not telling the truth, but that’s crazy if he knows who I am. Insane actually haha, but that’s sick! Honored to have his respect!
Warren from Canada says, I love you
I love you too Warren from Canada!🍁
furnace fest rocks.
Sorry for the shaky video at some parts. I was standing on a hand rail so the middle of my feet were in pain for 45 minutes. Enjoy!
