I am a Shop & Engineering teacher at Oceanside High School on Long Island, NY. Bridging the gap between theoretical and applied sciences. Fascinated by the way things work. This channel is a survey of what projects I have attempted, completed, and challenges encountered & overcome.

Garage Tour - A shop teachers garage. What's in your garage?

Somebody had asked to see my garage (toad). Well, here it is in all its glory. Most of my equipment and tools are second hand, and stuff I have collected over my lifetime. My garage is not clean, nor will it ever be, but there is a method to the madness.

We decided to rip out the existing metal work in the bed and start completely over. I was not happy with the existing progress. It was ugly and band aided together. We are getting closer to getting all panels fully supported.

Oceanside High School shop class build. Approaching the end of Q2 in the school year, halfway through the build. This is where we are at. In the midst of tracing out templates and fabbing up filler panels. Ask questions.

Nice i got the same wheels on my 74 monte carlo but with white wall tires
What a sleeper 😂😂
เยี่ยม.
Looks like my shop for sure 😊 Can’t have enough cans bottles and used parts laying around 😮 Plus all the customers equipment waiting on parts setting in front of shop, other projects taken to the farm for storage until I can get to a hundred of them if ever 😢
They say, "Pathetic hoarder" - I say, "Devine Emperor of Refuse" ( I am talking about myself)
Really awesome!! A few years ago they did away with all the distributor/magneto testers. Would you be able to check and see if they still have any at the school before they get tossed in the dumpster. I just missed one by a couple days and I was very sad about that. Fantastic garage. It show you are very busy!!
I'm sorry those are longgg gone.
@@seanjmichel I am finding that is the case everywhere so far. I am going to keep searching. Thank you
Nice saw
I was chuckling at how similar our home shops are. Pretty much the same tools and very similar projects. Thanks for sharing!
Hahaha. A place for everything and nothing in its place. Thanks for watching.

All I see is the welds breaking and someone is decapitated Not your welds, but the welds that hold the blades together they frequently snap Also the tension looks a little loose the blade should be a lot stiffer
This was a test run. It's got a shroud now and have used it quite a bit. Yes, tension was not quite there yet. No decapitations in the 2 years yet. Thanks for tuning in.
Super cool
9:05 I just came across one of these ropes. ( I honestly can't remember if I posted the video or not....I have dozens of incomplete videos that I work on ) I have no idea how you can gain a mechanical advantage...I can't wrap my head around it. Interesting )
2:15 I have yet to pick up an old worm. I used to work with a couple of them years ago. They were good to cross cut 4'. But I digress.. There was one for sale in Jersey last week for $10 bucks. I didn't think it would last. One of these days I'll spot a good deal at a yard sale....I hope.
Your Ryobi Impact drill is the best thing in that garage
Hahahaha. Love you bud.
Looks like it's about 276sf
Nice garage
A manly garage
That was the perfect comment.
That grill is excellent. Great video!
Jesus suffered and died for your sins. Praise be!
Nice grill
Where can i buy ?
Looking good boys!!!
So many mad people, but nice car
That’s a cool piece of equipment!
No guid rollers along the bottom ? Be careful... push to hard you will wear that bandsaw blade will pop right off
Yes thank you
Very nice work , where you at on the country ?
Oceanside, NY
Nice, what is the all the way lifted ride hight compared to stock ?
Quite a bit taller, but hard to say exactly how much. 2 to 3 inches I'd estimate.
Little ass stadium 😂😂
Monster , monster Jam 😂

Looking really good! What a great project for shop class. I built one of these myself, and I know how much work it is. I also know how satisfying and confidence building it is working through all the challenges. Your students will benefit greatly from this experience!
Hey Wayne, thank you for the comment. Love your videos! I've watched them all. Thank you for the feedback, cheers!
U was there last week in Long Island
How they getting oil through the engine is just as impressive
Always wanted to see this

What about a 108 lsa on a supercharger ?
Sure why not, cam it however you want. Boost makes everything better wether it's turbo, supercharger, procharger..
Not a good idea
@@v8packard why not?
@@BradonOliver Richard holdner proved it. Doesn't make power til higher rpm
@@BradonOliver Depending on the type of supercharger, a 108 lobe separation angle with typical street cam specs used with a positive displacement supercharger will, literally, let a bunch of the boost out the exhaust during overlap at low to mid range speeds. With a centrifugal supercharger you could get by with the 108 lobe separation angle because the centrifugal isn't producing much boost at low engine rpm, but the compromise is the 108 lobe separation angle closes the intake valve earlier in the cycle compared to a wider lobe separation angle, reducing your volumetric efficiency at high speeds under boost.
331 as in stroked 305?
.030 over 327 sbc
I wish i could take your class. Im building a 66. Honestly im getting no where. I posted two videos but, I think i need to build without making videos. more work might get done
What size turbos? That sounds great!
What size turbos are you running? Currently planning a similar build
Two Max speed ebay twirly bois GT 3582s
Thanks brother!@@seanjmichel
Why is that blade not flying ?
It's tracked correctly
What stops blade from popping off wheels
The tracking. Yes it is dangerous to run this way. It now has blade guides as well as a fiberglass reinforced plywood guard
Thanks. Video of this place is hard to come by. I get that it's exclusive but it's a rather drab and barren landscape.
does the blade stay well during a cut?
Yes it does now with the installation of blade guards. You can see it in some of my other videos.
4to 1 gearing?
Hey sorry for the late reply, didnt see this. Got me thinking here... i think i set it up to run 4500 feet per min at 4500 rpm. I do not remember the gearing as it goes through a series of gears through the clutch.
Lmao this cant be osa approved 😂
Junior: "Dad....somebody stole the wheels off my bicycle!" 😄
does it have stock ls2 heads?
Yeah it's a sbe 6.0 lq4 w stock 317 heads. Upgraded trunions and springs.
