Now I'll think twice before playing a peaceful world
As someone who gets agitated by any sound or disturbance while playing. I stopped playing in peaceful mode, because although I could go to mines or build at night without mobs. I felt like something was off. Now I play in "normal mode" and It feels strange when I don't see mobs appear at night or when a cave is empty.
Normal mode: scared of getting house blown up by creeper Peaceful mode: scared of Herobrine
I used to mess around with cheats in the first public release version of Half-Life 2. I had no idea Gmod was even a thing, and only purchased it a couple years ago. Now, I just can't get enough of the liminality and peacefulness of Gmod maps. After messing around in Half-Life 2 for so long, I felt right at home with Gmod. Blowing NPC's up, and causing other shenanigans is fun and all, but exploring peaceful maps hits different. It's like an escape world for my mind.
Decides to go to sleep, " can't sleep, monsters are nearby". But I'm in peaceful mode tho.
The best Star Wars game period, no ifs ands or buts. This was already an incredible game but all the modding potential (especially the Clone Wars Modification, I enjoyed that so much). It was just the right amount of active gameplay without the monotonous, repetitive and uninteresting gameplay war simulation games have (I say that lovingly, my dad absolutely loves them but its not my cup of tea!)
So happy the algorithm picked you up! Lots of super interesting stuff here
I think in new versions the contrast between the normal and peaceful modes is even more noticeable. Back then in old versions there was always a feeling of loneliness and detachment. Just like to think about when you're switching to the peaceful you feel how much work the developers have done to make the world feel more alive now
A peaceful world is so nice when you just want to build your world but don’t want to do it in creative. You still have to gather resources and wait for those resources to grow back.
excellent analysis!
why it sounds like u were recording during a tornado and u tried to reduce backround noise to compensate? Or ai. could always be ai now a days
shitty mic sadly
The Human Brain is also partly wired to think of things as compared to their opposites. "Happy" doesn't exist without the concept "Sad". "Rich" doesn't exist without the concept of "Poor". "Safe" doesn't exist without there being some sort of "Danger". And therein lies the unease.
I just really hate spiders
Can't really blame you tbh
great vid man! keep up the good work, hope your channel grows big one day <3
Well put together and I don't feel patronized, Thumbs up. (Just get a better mic, but you are prob aware of that, in which case my apologies)
Nah all good, ive been looking into affordable yet better mics
@Curator034 if you're going to splurge on anything, make it a mic. All the best
I'm playing a hardcore, world with an addon that makes it harder to survive and I have to survive 100 days 😭

astute observations with a poetic delivery..
Man, this channel is small, glad I found this video, this is an interesting video.
This is why I ALWAYS play on normal or hard mode, even hardcore, cuz even when peaceful mode is empty.. We are always full of fear.
Yeah the only time I use peaceful is when I'm afk at a farm
Why💀💀💀
Bro doesn't even mention Easy
Hm. I don't agree with you there. Minecraft itself is a lonely experience in single player, regardless of the difficulty. Everything that disappears in Peaceful is out to get you, and the sizzling sound of a Creeper is the only thing that gives me a mini heart attack. No one else but me has my back. This is why I carry an unholy amount of torches - the light is nice, but reducing the amount of mobs is the main appeal. Peaceful to me only removes the threats on my life. The feeling of solitude is still present, I just have less to worry about. Though, I think it also helps that when I got the game, I played on Peaceful for a while, to learn the controls, what interacts with what and just building a cool house. And it took me a long while to realize there is some sort of main quest in Minecraft - to slay the Ender Dragon, which is impossible in Peaceful, but for that long time I experienced loneliness. Alone in a world with nothing but animals, trees and rocks.
Good point on minecraft feeling lonely in general, i suppose it could be attributed to the lack of threat
Problem is you aren’t used to no mobs going out to get you, the paranoia and autophobia is still there and amplified In normal you may be clogged with adrenaline and dopamine from killing mobs to care about how lonely you are In peaceful structures meant to inhabit hostile mobs become abandoned like mansions and trial chambers. Massive structures that are now completely empty and devoid of life and it brings a sense of uncanny and unease

Cool channel. I wish you the best, stay consistent 😛👍
Hey thanks man
Yeah fr fr
Not only is EAW/FOC a classic SW game. It’s any Star Wars Fan dream to take complete control of your army in land and in space. Truly a marvel game. My favorite feature is the cinematic camera. It brings it alive in a spectacular way. 😁👍🏻 EAW has a special place in my heart because it allows me to create anything. :) Awesome work 😎👍🏻🙌🏻
Hey, this video was great for such a new channel, I'm glad I could inspire some of it, you have so much potential as a creator, I encourage you to keep going!
Wow, thanks for the comment, glad that you enjoyed it, i look forward to doing more!
Amazing game. Mods have done wonders for this game. Mods have made this game feel feel like there is more content to it. There is the Republic at War mod (there is another Clone Wars like mod), Legends Dark Empire Thrawn stuff, a remaster mod. I have fond memories of playing the Republic at War mod and the mod feeling like its own game entirely. I am curious to see how the original developers could have improved ground combat had they had more time or feedback on it. Shame we might never get another game like this.
This game is actually a sequel of sorts to a game called Star Wars: Rebellion, released in 1998, I would suggest to anyone that they try it out, if only for the sake of history. The graphics and combat aren't anywhere near Empire at War, but the game is much more interesting when it comes to the strategic map, with a very involved system of special agents performing espionage, sabotage and other missions all the time. Empire at War takes much more emphasis on the space combat and provides a spectacle that is hard to find anywhere else, but I personally find Rebellion much more interesting in terms of actually playing the game.
I basically gave up modern gaming and have been playing modded campaigns in this for both my Star Wars and Gaming fix. We still haven't seen anything that compares to this masterpiece, and given the state of Star Wars and gaming as a whole, I'd rather *NOT* have a remake or sequel, thanks.
One of the best games. Awakening of the Rebellion is a fantastic mod.
I would say that for your fleet build, it's a bit capital heavy for my taste. I would cut a Venator and a Victory and mix in more Peltas and some front line Dreadnaughts, using the Dreadnaughts to soak up damage with their ability. It's easier to replace frigates and corvettes. But that is just my take.
Good call on the Dreadnaught ability, i feel like i also overlook that, generally my playstyle tends to gravitate towards capital heavy fleets
Criminal to mention the FPS boom and not Republic Commando as an example.
Goldfish memory ong
Always enjoyed these eerie map investigations. Something about playing online maps alone was always so creepy, even when the map had no original scary theme behind it. There's also a focus on older games, probably because of the simplicity of their designs leaves you focusing on it's strange, almost fake details to sell you on the environment, as you'd normally just run around and not look to closely into things. Good video! Enjoyed the topic, editing and voice over. I would say for future videos, to try and bump up the voice volume if possible. Happy to subscribe and check out more!
Hey, thanks for the comment and yeah, playing multiplayer maps alone is an extremely uncanny feeling. I always expect to run into someone but never do, and at certain points im not sure whether to feel im completely alone or not alone.
Mods are a must for this game. There have also been recent updates by petroglyph even as of last week.
Yeah, im planning on doing a Fall of the republic overview soon
@Curator034 all the top mods are good, and unique. Thrawn and fall are classics, my personal favorites are alliance and AOTR. Alliance in unstable af though, AOTR is a master class on giving the ship and ground combat a lot more depth.
@@mosser-wm3dx AOTR 's range bands for ship weapons throws me every time. I tend not to use it.
Incorrect title. I've played this tons of times. I play through the Rebel base game campaign, the Forces of Corruption campagin, and both base game and Forces of Corruption Rebel Galactic conquests plus Zahn galactic conquests regularly and this is one of the few games I play mods for. There was far more then one Star Wars strategy game prior to this. You are completely ignoring Rebellion which was a grand strategy focused game, and Force Commander which was another ground focused tactical game. And we had two Star Wars games focused on ground battles while we didn't really have anything focused on space battles other then this and still don't. Rebellion allowed tactical control space battles but most people I know who play the game usually auto resolve space battles. I've never understood why there haven't been official Star Wars games akin to Homeworld, Battllefleet Gothic Amada, or Battlestar Galactica Deadlock Edit: The Eclipse class first appeared in Legends in the Dark Empire comics in the 90s long before this came out
Fair points in regards to other games, aswell as the eclipise, and while i suppose this is a point of contention in the community, i do find myself agreeing on your final point in regards to why we havent had other star wars like games, i think it would greatly benefit the community if we did. Still thanks for your input
@@Curator034 There's a long list of game types where I would love to see a Star Wars game in the same style and almost all of them are heavy on space action with several tactical or strategy game ideas.
@@Curator034 There's a reason the Eclipse was used in the expansion pack trailer was because it was an "Oh shit, I recognize that!" moment of escalation.
one of the best star wars games ever. the mods for this are insanely good as well AND still being developed!
Great video! You were a tad quiet though. I would like to see breakdowns of individual mods and which are your favorite.
Yeah, i think i fixed the audio in my subsequent videos, and ive got a fall of the republic ship guide coming out in around 11 hours
tbh they REALLY should remaster this game since it would be fire ngl
It is available AND playable on modern systems on Steam
@@ElTequilla ik it just should be renewed yk like imagine how cool that would be
I didn't know the people at petroglyph worked on command and conquer that explains a lot! It is a shame that Disney won't give them a sequel since they've expressed interest in making one. I love seeing a childhood classic getting some love. Also as someone else mentioned you're very quiet but that can be fixed. Keep up the good work and with some more polishing you have a good formula on your hands, I'd love to see a series of hidden gems that may have been forgotten with time.
Honestly at this point ive been holding out hope for an Empire at war remaster rather than a sequel, but similar to KOTOR i doubt we'd get that lucky. Also yeah, working on the audio, thanks for the feedback
turn your mic up homie.
Too quiet? Ill turn gain up next time I record, hope you could still understand, thanks
@@Curator034 beyond quiet, its barely a whisper
@@williampaabreeves yeah, for some reason in playback when i was recording it seemed fine, not sure what happened during upload.
Nice reminder of an absolute beast of a game!
Yeah, i feel like when people discuss strategy games its often forgotten unless youre part of a very specific niche. Thanks for watching!
