Try Conan the Destroyer next. But be warned: it raised the humor level--some say too much--and that could try your patience. But there is a lot of action; it plays out like a role-playing game, and, though some say the climactic fight is hokey, I thought it was okay. Then again, I got into the Conan series when I was hitting puberty (*just* the right time!) and I've read all the Conan books I could find. Also the remake of Conan the Barbarian with Jason Momoa is pretty damned good, too, with a bigger plot and better dialogue. Don't let young fans who know only the Conan comics dissuade you from it.

This is absolutely goat Of the fantasy films. The way its shot etc , all others just seemed fake compared to Conan the barbarian. So glad i got to see it on the big screen when it came out.

Best swords/sorcery movie of the 80s. Really in its own league. The lack of stupid dialogue, the music, and the scenery really elevate it.

I grew up watching the destroyer! Love it! They are both awesome but Conan the destroyer is just way better.

In the director commentary, the director speaks about having the violence like the Roman theatre. Quite violent and savage, but at a distance the way it would have been in the Roman Theatre.
