    wonderful video thank you!, I will recommend if people buy the Copenhagen card to calculate when it is most favorable to activate it, as soon as it's activated the countdown is on, meaning if you arrive late and don't plan to go out as museums are closed (Tivoli is open if it's season but you may be tired or out of Tivoli season) then wait to activate the next day, the train/metro/bus ride from the airport is only around 5 dollars to the center and if it's more important for the Copenhagen card to last more hours later in the visit it's more important to save on yet another museum or castle than the ride from the airport, I totally agree about getting breakfast incl. in the hotel or hostel as breakfast is very expensive in the city, if it's not possible go to a bakery and ask for a breakfast roll with butter and cheese and they will make for you, if you stay in an apartment you can go to the supermarket it's not that expensive and make your own, other recommend take the train to Roskilde city 25 min. ride you will find a Viking museum and an old Cathedral where most of the Queens and Kings are buried, classical Danish food to try could also be Flæskestegs sandwich (pork roast with red cabbage and cucumber salad and crispy pork rind))if you are more into modern cuisine New Nordic cuisine it however tend to be expensive

    • @CORRTravel
      @CORRTravel 3 дні тому

      You're most welcome! Yes, calculating the best time to purchase the Copenhagen Card depends on individual itineraries. I found it extremely helpful and a good value on my latest trip to Copenhagen. Of course it's nice to go to a local bakery or restaurant for breakfast, but for the life of me, I cannot leave my hotel until I've had my coffee so I like the convenience - and amazing choices - of a 'european' hotel breakfast. I find them hard to beat, especially in an expensive city like Copenhagen. Thank you for the additional suggestions on local cuisine to try. It all can't be covered in a short video.

      Yes, it can be for some. This is why I took care to provide some good accommodations that are not near the strip. I stayed at the Cactus Hotel and it was quiet the time of year I was there. Now that I have been to Zakynthos and traveled all around the island, I think my next trip I'll stay further north in a quieter village. :-)

    We are going on some boat tours where we will be going to the beach and snorkeling. As someone who has not traveled very much, what are we supposed to do with our purse/passport when we are snorkeling/at the beach? Is it safe in the boat? Is the hotel safe a good choice?

    • @CORRTravel
      @CORRTravel 10 днів тому

      Hello! This is a wonderful question and I'm glad you asked. As an international solo traveler for 29 years (and still going!), this is what I do and recommend and it's never failed me: First, never go out with your passport on you. Always keep it, and your extra credit cards, cash and valuables, in your hotel safe/hostel locker. Instead, make a color photo copy of your photo and signature passport pages and either laminate it or wrap with clear, packing tape, and carry this with you daily, along with your valid driver's license (as your 'official ID'), one credit card and some cash. As for beach going, boating, etc., only bring the essentials with you. Leave all else in your hotel/hostel. Note, I write for solo travelers and have a full list of beach tips here if you're interested: www.corrtravel.com/how-to-do-a-solo-beach-trip-tips/ You can see from that post, I use a waterproof waist pouch when I go into the water. I have a link to it (and other great Greece travel essentials) in this video's description but am providing it here for your convenience: amzn.to/4bb6Omt I personally use this pouch all of the time - from Maui to Croatia to Greece - and LOVE it. The trick is to only put in your phone, credit card, ID, cash and hotel key. That's it. You can leave other non-essentials (sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.) on the beach or boat. These pouches can pack alot (I've even put in my camera and other items in it), but the slimmer it is, the easier it is to snorkel and swim. I highly recommend it for any beach trip. From a boat, you could leave your valuables on the boat if you wish, but this is at your own risk and discretion. I only do so for a brief moment while I take video. So far, I have found people on boats have been honorable and have had no theft issues. The fewer people on the boat, the better. Still, I Ieave this to your discretion. Do not feel weird if you want to wear the waste pouch swimming/snorkeling from the boat. Some people do. Traveling stress-free is important, too, right? Hanging on the beach, NEVER leave your essentials unattended. Wear the waste pouch always. I hope this was helpful. Please post back if you used the waste pouch in Zakynthos and how you liked it, and your Zakynthos trip in general, for the other viewers. We love good feed back here! Have fun!

    Excellent video. I think an important consideration for some folks may be the ability to absorb a new language. Places like Lisbon and Porto may be more forgiving if one is not adept at picking up the language. Small towns, maybe less so. I'm shooting for Guimarães and am assuming my Portuguese will need to be better than if I were to target Porto nearby.

    • @CORRTravel
      @CORRTravel 13 днів тому

      Well, although you may be surprised on how many in smaller towns may speak English, it is the best plan to undergo working on Portuguese so you can get more out of your stay in Portugal. If you want to go for dual citizenship, you'll need to take a Portuguese language test, just a heads up.

    • @victorbehar804

      @@CORRTravel You have a good point, the Portuguese have among the highest percentage of proficiency in English relative to other non-English speaking countries in Europe. I don't know if it is accurate, but the figure I heard is somewhere near 80%!! I have an active application (since June 2022) for dual citizenship based on a now expired law for the repatriation of Sephardic Jews (Jews expelled from the Iberian peninsula during the times of the Inquisitions)! While there is no language req under that law, I'm currently beyond the minimal A2 level required for citizenship, floating somewhere solidly in intermediate land B1-B2. The chasm between B2 and C1/C2 seems so dauntingly huge. Anyhow, I like hearing about your Portugal adventures. Thanks for the time you take to make the content!

    • @CORRTravel
      @CORRTravel 13 днів тому

      You can work under the D7 visa, but work income is not used for the purpose of applying for the D7. The D7 is for passive income. If you are planning on using your working income as 'proof of income', you may wish to apply under the D8 visa. I would confirm this with an immigration service. In the US, you'll more than likely be working through the VFS office, not directly with the Portugal Consulate. I would go the to VFS Global website (www.vfsglobal.com/en/individuals/index.html) and find what location is closest to you and confirm if they who you'll have your visa application appointment with. Again, you can confirm all of this with your immigration service. Good luck!

      @@CORRTravel yes, with comprehension, French and the Spanish I know, does help with understanding a bit of Portuguese. Definitely helpful when learning Portuguese, it’s just that there’s a bit of a rivalry between Spain and Portugal, I was told, and English is preferable, surprisingly. Using Spanish for some, isn’t favorable. But, there are people who are Portuguese and Spanish, and they don’t care. It could be, more Portuguese now, feel the domination of Spain in their lives. I did observe one American woman use her Dominican Spanish to a waiter. I used English. He was nice, but when he realized she spoke English, he only spoke back to her in English with a pained grimace. I also got my drink and food orders before she did. Being in different cultures is definitely interesting. 😊

I do provide itinerary audits for existing itineraries (www.corrtravel.com/coaching-services/) but can also help prepare an itinerary from scratch. Please feel free to book time with me with the link I provided. If you want something quicker, I have an instant, downloadable 4 Day Barcelona itinerary in PDF format you can find here: www.corrtravel.com/travel-resources/travel-itineraries/ or here: www.corrtravel.com/barcelona-4-day-itinerary-pdf/ This, I'm sure, will definitely get you started. It's fairly quick moving, so you can use it as-is and insert an extra day trip from Barcelona, which I highly recommend, or just slow it down to last for 5/6 days with one day trip from Barcelona. Whatever you choose, I HIGHLY recommend getting either your Barcelona Card or individual entry tickets to the big ticket items (like La Sagrada Familia) asap with skip-the-line entry for first entry of the morning, if possible. This way you avoid the crowds and have more of the rest of the day to relax. I hope this has been helpful for you!
