Prevention is the Only Cure: Public Health Case for Nuclear Disarmament
On 30 November 2023, IPPNW joined in conversation with the Permanent Mission of Costa Rica and a coalition of the world’s largest medical and public health organizations - the International Committee of the Red Cross, International Council of Nurses, International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations, World Federation of Public Health Associations, and the World Medical Association - on the margins of the second Meeting of States Parties to the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) at the United Nations Headquarters.
Echoing the August 2023 joint editorial from 153 Medical and Health Journals on the unique role health professionals must play in warning world leaders and the public of the risks of nuclear war, representatives from leading health organizations gathered with one voice to advance the eradication of nuclear weapons through evidence-based policy-making.

Bloch's ' Prayer' was breathtaking. It sounds flippant to say but playing this in bed causes my cat, Magic , to be roused from his sleep to come and give me a love. How beautiful!! I'd LOVE to have a few of these in my garden. She's a remarkable woman!! I'm so happy she has always spread such positive messages! I'm adamantly against ALL things nuclear! I've got a BA in chemistry, nursing, and have studied nuclear chemistry and weapons for decades! It's not clean as we're so misled to believe. The waste is dangerous for sometimes hundreds of thousands of years. Sure its fine until it's not. When it goes wrong it makes the area uninhabitable. People just don't grasp that!

Play wonderfully! Yo yo Ma is Yo Yo Ma. Yo Yo Ma loves freedoms and peace of the world too. I guess most Americans love freedoms, entrepreneurship spirit and equality of opportunities principled societies together too. Also peace of the world will be able for peaceful minds to enjoy musics after daily work and back to home.

We have seen over the last 20 plus years that some governments are immune to concern over humanitarian disasters, other than mouthing platitudes. One has to imagine what it will take to stop the madness that currently captures the provocateurs.
It'd be useful if you could put a single nuclear reactor's contamination potential compared to the megaton equivalent of a single weapon or weapons. Even after Three-mile Island, Chernobyl, Fukushima, etc., I don't think that enough people appreciate the contamination potential of reactors, it's just to distant of an issue that most people do not think that it affects them, because these places are too far away from them.
There is magic in Yo-yo Ma's playing, I can even hear the sound of the dead souls from the sound he makes. So much condolence, so much sorrow, so much compassion, and so much love. May the dead souls in peace and thank you for your comforting messages to those who passed away in this pandemic.
