Schlitzie's , Elvira's and Jenny Lee's hairstyles were done on purpose by the Circus to highlight their head size and shape; having being a carer for people with microcephaly you still notice if they have regular hairstyles but it is not as obvious.

for those wondering why Schlitzie was wearing a dress in the film Dresses were practical for Schlitzie regarding his care needs. Not just on screen but off screen as well. they made things easier for his caregivers to ensure his comfort and needs were met The guy had urinary incontinence and so would wear diapers as well. which again made the dresses a lot more practical than trousers/pants etc

From what i learned, Schlitzie was well loved by every circus he was sent to and everyone just treated him with absolute love and care. He lived a good life and he won’t be forgotten thanks to this movie and AHS Freakshow. Rest in peace You amazing legend.
