Hi, it doesn't matter where you get the gift from? What matters is that the kids enjoy it themselves. Add secondhand gifts to a child and I never complained. Neither did anyone else in my mom's house. There was only me show. I had nothing to complain about. I even had secondhand clothes when I was a child. Because that's all my mother could afford I think we need to stop stereotyping people and start realizing that everyone has different needs. Everyone has it different in their house. Everyone has different rules to what they do with their children. I never had children, so I have no right to say anything. Negative about anybody. If you want to buy them or give them a secondhand toy or secondhand closed. I don't see a thing wrong with it if it's washed and it not broken. Then why not? I had secondhand pianos given to me and everything when I was a child, and that was in the 70s, you know, like to me, it doesn't matter. It's all that the kids enjoy it and they're getting fun out of it. And if they enjoy what they're getting and you're being good parents about what you're doing with your kids, then it's really nobody's business, what you do and long. Your children are happy. And that's all I've got to say about that. It makes me mad when people judge other people for what they give their kids. I think that's unfair. I really do not everyone could afford brand new toys. Not everyone can afford to give luxury gives to anybody and what's everything? The way it is nowadays. I don't know when it's what's filmed, but what the way things are right now? No one should be running anyone down. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and it's not just about the gift. It's about the time that you spend with the children and the quality time that you spend with them with what they get.So you need to stop stereotyping people. I don't mean this lady. Hape Toys are well made and last a long time! That’s a very nice dollhouse that will serve many families, your grandkids if you want to keep it that long! I second the idea of digging into their passions! My daughter was given an old keyboard from her cousin a few years ago and we got her a stand, a stool, a mic, headphones, sheet music, lessons, she prefers to teach herself but it was all a great investment and she still plays and now wants a guitar! We love buying 2nd hand games and honestly lots of things. My kids spend more time at goodwill and once upon a child than they do any other store except the grocery store-and that’s usually for pickup! My kids are just has happy with a used toy as a new toy. It’s eco friendly and budget friendly too-usually-sometimes rare things that are awesome or even high quality items that are used still maintain a high value.

I would like to add a point... When your 10 year old son is refusing to do a chore after not doing a single chore for days, sit down next to them, play this video loudly on your phone while pretending to take notes. Mine just got up and went to do his chore and I'm only at point 4. 😂❤

My son loves zoobs & plus plus blocks (more of the piece type things) my girls like them too. Our kids LOVE their yotos!!!! It’s an audio player that uses cards to player audiobooks and music and has original content as well and they play it ALL THE TIME!!! It accompanies them almost wherever they go-even the bathroom! I agree with adding to current interests and developing skills. One of my son’s favorite things right now is a shovel, he has been inspired to dig tunnels by a story he heard on a yoto card. We also have backpacks and our kids have Bible class bags and they LOVE them, it makes them feel big to have their own stuff. And we purchase quite a bit second hand, even for gifts, eBay and goodwill are some of my favorite shopping resources!

Well that’s probably good that you don’t like plastic toys because you don’t have to play with them. It’s about the kids and what they like.

Our kids don’t care if the gift is second hand as long as they get to rip into the wrapping paper. They are 7&5. But this may change as they get older 🤷‍♀️

If you have a bit younger child look into makedo tools. They are tools that cut and screw into cardboard. We are doing makedo tools and a tool belt.

10:57 Honestly I loved having my own backpack when I was little! It’s also good for travelling so they are multi functional. It gives kids a sense of responsibility too for their things :)

Just want to clarify that when I said I wanted to make sure it wasn't just a phase that they were going to outgrow about one of the toys, I meant that I didn't want them outgrow it in a month or two. My goal is always to get them things that they are going to enjoy/play with for a while... but I know that kids outgrow things 😅

Yes. Groceryshopping is a chore for me. I don't hate it. I actually somewhat enjoy it...but it takes alot out of me as well: so I cook simply that day ad only do the light est an daily on-netobiable tasks.

I wouldn't say we are minimalist but we dont do toys with lights, sounds, screens or that play themselves. I think for my kids birthday he will get a sleeping bag because he does need one.

Hey Kassy, I just heard you for the duest time in your interview with Terri K, and I subsscribed. Something you touched on, rhat Terri always says, is figure out what workrs fir YOU. And I just this morning came up with a daily tip that seems completely backwards, but icseems to be helping me lately, sobI made it an actual thing for me. Anyway: MOST influenxrs say make your bed, put clean dishes away, start laundty, first onbthe morning. And, they empathise fushes, trash, tidying, and laundry THEN sweep/vaxuim/clean floors. And thatcmakes sense; as far as how durst and dust falls. Hiwever, I akready spend time in the mirning furst thing;:scooping litter boxes and taking care of dog accidens (she's an old kady), befire I do anythingvelse. And Ibkeep up with those messes through the day....but with everything else that I do, by the end of tge day, my flloors often get missed as far as the regular sweep, mopping ir cacuuming SO, as bacwards as it sounds, this morning I did tge weekly mipoing of my floors before anything else, after taking care of pet messes, and mow I can focus on alk the dsily stiff like dishes and laundry, etc. It felt so good to start my day with relatively ckean floors; no mstter what else wasn't done. So daily and as neededsweeping/cleaning of the floors, will now be the FIRST thing I always take care of FIRST during a ckeaning ir tidying session.

I completely agree with you on the Christmas gifts! My childrens' grandparents would load them up with toys to the point where they would get overwhelmed when it was time to clean up. We finally had to have a talk with the grandparents and let them know that quality time was more important to the kids.

Socks!!! Especially fluffy socks. I know some people may think it’s boring for a stocking stuffer but my mum always gets a pair of fluffy socks for me for my stocking. It gets so cold during the winter and I love my feet to feel warm! ❤ Slippers are also a really good idea too but they may not fit depending on how big your stocking is 😂

I am a homeschooling mom of five kids 12 and under. I say that only so you can get an idea how messy the house can get in a day!!! The two best tips I have are to never leave a room empty handed. Meaning always be picking up out of place things. Also, the one-touch rule. If i am going to pick something up, I will put it in its home the first time rather than sit it on the table only to be picked up again later. We also do a whole family 5 min tidy before lunch and after dinner.
