I personally would really liek to see a chicago franchise. Im kinda biased as a chicagoan, and lacrosse isnt too big in the area, but a team in one of the most populous and famous cities in the country, a chicago team would be good for lacrosses popularity

THe exact same thing is happening with golf, outside of the Majors, nobody cares if Scottie Sheffler wins a random PGA event, and LIV is seen as the red headed stepchild. It's iMO the same thing with PLL and NLL but it does not make sense to merge them. At least not merge them while the people taking jabs at each league are still involved, having them in a merged league is just going to be a recipe for disaster though but where can you send them. WHo is to say they won't just go and start up a rival league and then we are right back here. That being said, I do think a videogame could help get more eyes on lacrosse as well as promoting the sport at all levels as far as TV goes with a big network showing the entire season and taking it seriously, like NBC or CBS giving the sport the respect it deserv and more to the point being easy to find and watch. When you get to watch a game, it is fast paced and exciting and fun to watch. The problem is being able to watch it. Radio, vlogs, UA-cam content and yes a videogame are all other ways to draw people in. Do the local teams have radio affiliates a la baseball or football that carry the games with a radio crew calling what's going on, or like how the AHL and WHL do things? If, for instance, 2K got to sign a five year deal to make a PLL game and EA got to make an NLL game in the same period then you got a former player to spearhead someone making their own game as well, with how big UA-cam is and how big creators can draw in views on even the most average of games, to me it's a no brainer to get people to pick up the game, see it's fun then be able to watch the teams in the game, on TV or radio. THe worst thing the leagues can and are doing, is going yeah we are going to sign deals with a hard to find and watch service that you can't easily find our games on. Whoever signed off on that has no idea what they have done. Sure, it may look good to stream to ESPN but really, how many people does that reach vs something like NBC or CBS? Okay sure, you may have to convince CBS or NBC to take on one or both leagues, but that is not an impossible task. Hell even Amazon would be a better option than eSPN and a hard to find stream

When I was in middle school , we had practices at our local high school. I never watched pros. But one day at practice our coaches surprised us with some pros. And I don’t exactly remember but I’m pretty sure Paul was there. He signed all our stuff and ran a practice. I still remember that shit 10 years ago

the biggest problem is that people just don't want to watch it. they just don't think it would be fun to watch but then when the actually watch a lacrosse game they're hooked

Lacrosse has a problem. It’s outpriced for black people. We’re the best athletes in the world, and most of us can’t afford to play it. That’s the problem with lacrosse.

Would be great to eventually see another expansion, hopefully we can get some of the old MLL franchises back and maybe even bring back the Chrome soon? Ik they did really bad but I believe that the outlaws should have been added as a 9th team rather then replacing one of the original 6

As a defenceman, I naturally enjoy the physicality of the NLL more, despite my preference for field lacrosse, this is mainly because I don’t like how Rabil seems to be going out of his way to remove hitting from the PLL.

How "mainstream" do you want, or need, lacrosse to be? It's much better known than many other sports in North America or the world. I think your idea of "mainstream" is a short list of the very few big money-making spectator sports, the audience for which is already close to saturated, which means lacrosse, or any other game trying to break into that list, would have to displace one of the others. Lacrosse is as "mainstream" as most of the other things we refer to by that adjective, sports or otherwise.

Indopr lacrosse suits the cold climate of Canada and the American northwoods states ..playing field lacrosse in march in northern Michigan (for example) _ flat out sucks. its not enjoyable.I grew up in in freaking Anne Arundel county , 1000 miles south of Toronto and still REALLY wished i could be playing indoors when we started practice in late February. In Canada starting practice outside in February isn't really an option unless you play in a league that has a LOT more resources (money) than the PLL. And box lacrosse players develop skill sets that are different than field players (as the narrator pointed out).. I remember watching a team of US all stars (REALLY all stars) play against a Canadian box lacrosse team in a demo tour..the Americans got routed...it was embarrassing..only standout fitness stars like Mark Gold and Frank Urso shone at all in that series. Finesse American field players got steamrolled by the Canadians.

After moving out to Colorado from a hot bed area on the east coast I can understand why the game is struggling to grow. Back in PA any time park you’d drive past would have a multiple fields and nets. Out here I struggle to find a field to ho shoot on

Plenty of hobbies and sports aren't "mainstream". I'm not sure I'll jump on the assumption that all lacrosse players want the sport to be mainstream. To be honest I enjoy it being more obscure but still recognized. It takes the edge off of youth lacrosse that it isn't played to become pro and growing up it was just played because it's fun and my friends played. It's a Native American game and doesn't need to have all the money in the world squeezed out of it and optimized for all the best commericals.

barrier to entry for lacrosse is $$$$ expensive. If the high schools could sponsor some gear, more kids would probably play lacrosse

I'd say the big problem with lacrosse is that if you didn't play you don't care about it which is not the same as other sports, it's also really hard to watch, very had to follow, lots of bodies in the way and a tiny ball that you can't see, on a tv it's really hard to see what's going on. I don't know what can be done about this, maybe if it were bigger then more people would care like other sports but that's circular

The only way to make lacrosse a non elitist sport is to stop charging so much for equipment. Stop charging over $3000 for travel teams.

The Championship Series has been played in Northern VA the last 2 years so like 1.5 hours south of Baltimore.

I'm more into the NLL. Not because I played in one league over the other. I practiced and done drills in lacrosse, but I never played it. The reason I prefer NLL over PLL is because I grew up with hockey. Street, ball, inline and ice. NLL is more of that hockey style and it's a faster and more physical style that I'm used to watching and playing. It doesn't mean I will never watch PLL. Because I have. And yes, I would like to see lacrosse including inline and ball hockey be an Olympic sport because I think it should.

Love the NLL. Back in the day, Portland had the Lumberjaxs, and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think about em. I wish the NLL would come back to Portland. We have such a unique and home grown lax community here in Oregon.

It warms my heart to see Lacrosse flourishing. Growing up in Oregon, the Outlaws were the only team out west, and the only other teams i'd watch besides John Hopkins and Syracuse. They were really the first team I seriously followed in terms of pro lacrosse. And I'm so happy they were brought back. Thank you man for doing a video on them and helping to promote the game I played and loved.

The leagues fighting each other is just dumb since they are two distinctly different sports. Like arena football and the NFL, or soccer and whatever indoor league is trying to exist. We used to have a roller hockey team a few decades ago. I went to an indoor lacrosse game, but the team quickly folded. I've watched outdoor on tv. It would be nice if the two leagues worked together to further grow the sport. It wasn't an option in my area through school or as a club sport.

The biggest issue is the skill is just too high. Unless your name is Lee zink- you don't stand a chance on defense becuase there is just nothing they can do

This sport wont get away from being a rich preppy kid sport until until the common man can afford to play this sport. All talk about "growing the game" is just fluff that sounds nice until then. A few lax clinics in under priviledged areas isn't fixing that. The people that make gear are just like Hockey gear makers, in the sense that they're perfectly okay with the sport being a niche. Played by only those that can afford it.

If you don’t love sports as a kid you’re not gonna magically love them as an adult. I’ve never met a sports fan that didn’t grow up with their team. Youth leagues are the only way the pro leagues will grow.

I played for 7 years growing up, then fell off in high school, then covid but I would love to find some decent pick-up or town league for 20-30 year old kids who just want to play the game again

6:20 What are you talking about? Denver Outlaws games were shown on local 20 KTVD for the first 2 seasons. All home games were on the RSN or Altitude. I have all the games recorded from broadcast on DVD. No mention of "The Rabil Paradox"

Box is so much more physical to me and at least in buffalo, the games are absolutely electric. Playoff games sell out keybank (full sized hockey arena). Would love to see more attention on it.

I understand that they needed to be more established as a league and not a touring side show, but I think it was a huge slap in the face to midwest and texas lacrosse fans when they annouced a team in the carolinas and a team in denver, 1400 miles of missed opportunity to "grow the game" and especially because they consider carolina to be in the western conference
