Sapper TV is the place to be. I love playing board games and war games...solitaire. So if you like to do this then you are in the right place.

Found this: Island Land Area stacking is limited to 3 stacking point (overstocking not allowed), and airmobile/paradrop limited to 1 stacking point per movement phase. [GSR 6.1.1]. Small islands...
Note on Air Superiority Combat: 22.6.4.2 Re-engagement: Re-engagement is allowed only during Air Interception Combat and never in Air Superiority Combat. Play Note: For AIr Superiority Combat, I recommend choosing one engagement and conducting all the stages for that combat since re- engagement does not apply. But you actually caught that... Great video!
Thank you for serving, when im 18 im gonna join the marine corps
😂😂😂😂
The map looks pretty sharp. I haven't played since the original copy my nephew has. I remember him debating getting the 2nd edition at one time but wasn't aware there was a 3rd. Those Real People cards are great. I had never heard of them before seeing them on another channel that would use them as the players but he hasn't posted in quite a while.
I got the idea for the Real People cards from Hello Gregor. He has not posted anything in years. He definitely brings more personality to the Real People cards than I do.
@@SapperTV1 Yes! That's where I saw them used. Good to see someone keeping them alive.
When you win a Adventure challenge and it was already there a marker of the other team, you do not flip the marker, you just remove it. Nice seeing content for Factions
You are correct. I knew that but in my excitement I flipped the token. Oh, well. What's done is done.
What is the "pincher"called that you use to move the unit markers around? Where can I buy one?
Non-Allied units in Island land areas are Isolated if the Persian Gulf Inshore Box is Allied Controlled. - Game Specific Rules: 10.2 Strategic Display Isolation
Shawn, thanks so much for posting these. I’m new to NW and really thinking about buying it. How does it play solo? Dog you play both sides or do the Iranians run off a script?
No script to run an AI. I am playing both sides myself. If you are interested in modern war sims then I would highly recommend this series of games. I have them all and they are great.
One in one thousand.
I really like that if you are not sure about a rule or procedure, you immediately check the rules and then clarify what you found.
Great play-through series. I have this on the shelf warming up. What a timely distribution of this game…
What advantage does the greatest military in the world have in this game? any? (die rolls are always the equalizer)
Luck is always a wildcard... in games and real life.
You do a good job on this type of video. I love this system but it's been quite some time since I played it (Vietnam). Normally I don't like hypothetical conflicts but the comprehensive structure of Lands design makes it really interesting.
Good to see you back!
Looks very cool! Thanks for the preview.
Nice 👍
looking forward to seeing your play with this game.

There's enough gaming content there to last a lifetime!
This is one of the worst games ever. GMT should be ashamed and pull it off the market.
Thanks for the video. It matches what I heard about this game - a big disappointment. Can you please recommend a similar game on pre-WW2?...
late to the party, but nice presentation!
My jaw hit the floor when you showed the rule book.
Navajo Wars is a unique, ingenious piece of game design and play!
Where did you aquire the neat plastic arrows?
Whaaat? 20 minutes to read the SpaceCorp rulebook? I took us 3 days to understand it and we still have tons of questions!
So many errors! Shawn really shouldn't put out an example-of-play UA-cam video without learning basic rules first. Early on [about 9:20] he indicates he doesn't want to slow down his example of play in order to look up rules he is uncertain about! In this video's first example of withdrawing a Union artillery battery adjacent to closing CSA infantry, Shawn therefore gets almost everything wrong: - He moves the artillery battery into a hex adjacent to a CSA unit (actually 3 of them): But artillery cannot voluntarily move to within 2 hexes of an enemy unit. - He doesn't know the CSA "opportunity fire" vs. the Union battery as it exits any hex adjacent to an enemy unit (legally or not) is X half the normal firepower of that unit, not at full fire power. - He incorrectly thinks the Union battery's Cohesion Rating (CR) is its printed "4" value. But that's only true if it has "support" (i.e. is adjacent to an in-good-order US Inf/Cav unit). W/O support, the US battery's net CR is -1, or 3 in this case, not the 4 Shawn incorrectly says it is. - He does correctly show a Morale Hit (MH) = a Shaken marker in the case he presents - Just after the 13:00 time mark, Shawn conflates Opp. Fire vs. a unit voluntarily "moving" out of a hex adjacent to an enemy with Opp. Fire vs. a unit involuntarily "retreating" from a hex adjacent to the Opp. Firing unit (1st hex RETREATED into receives no Opp. Fire). - He also shows an illegal retreat path: Once the Combat Results Table (CRT) said the US battery needed to retreat from the initial hex it tried to move from (due to successful CSA Opp. Fire), the rules state such a unit must always avoid retreating next to an enemy unit IF possible. Shawn incorrectly retreats the US battery adjacent to 3 CSA units (the hex he originally wanted to voluntarily move to) vs. a hex in the opposite direction which wasn't adjacent to any CSA unit. Shawn has excellent UA-cam presentation skills (clearly visible map & counters, etc), but sadly this video will only confuse someone trying to learn "Thunder in the Ozarks".
Roger, thank you for the very well though out response ( I sincerely mean that). I have never claimed to be a "rules channel", "rules explainer", or a teacher of any game that I feature on my channel. I even state this around the 6 minute mark. I am just here to play games and hopefully enjoy myself. Maybe a few of the folks that watch get some enjoyment as well. I am sure some don't like what I do which is fine. There are plenty of other things to watch on YT.
Man yall sure are showin those bad guys whos boss 😂😂..

Probably concertina wire. I had similar damage to my pants doing guard near Concertina wire.
I favor Stellar Horizons and SpaceCorp over High Frontier. HF attacks the idea of a space program through random draws of technology from a deck, which IMO is an unrealistic way of building a space program. SpaceCorp is great if you have 3 hours or less. Stellar Horizons (and its sequel, Stellar Horizons 2, soon to come from Compass Games) is much more of a nuts-and-bolts approach to exploration of the Solar System, with a plausible technology tree. I can easily rate Stellar Horizons over both of the others, if you want a completely immersive, solar system exploration experience. HF has an obtuse set of rules, written by a university professor who doesn't understand people who don't think like he does. Yeah, HF has a cool-looking map, but it suffers from the game's underlying principle of "drawing for tech". There have been some pretty cool space exploration games that didn't come out in the last few years. Check out Starfall, Liftoff!, and Leaving Earth. As to which has the most dramatic map, I think that all the planet, moon and asteroid tiles splayed out on a big table make Stellar Horizons a much more breathtaking venue than the board for HF.
But why?😠
Did you not listen to the video at all or something? 🤦🏼♂️

@@Fatima.H.K-vp1lhdid we actually!?!
Beautiful place Tenn. thought about moving there but went back to SC when retired. Love it here but no mountains. Retired military too but stick to computer games now.
Not a bad game but I bet the developers don’t recommend it for Solitaire. I’d say it’s at least three people. Rules need a reboot.
WAW solitaire is like is brave or crazy but at least you do t argue over rules. If you don’t like the heat get out of the kitchen. Sounds like you’re a candidate for computer games. I’m 71 can’t afford these expensive paper games so get by with computer games pretty well. But none give you what these games do except save time at a cost of control. If I had the money time set up and perhaps a buddy I would definitely buy this game. For now must settle on hearts of iron or strategic command wwii neither is perfect but at least you can play them without a mental breakdown.
If you are interested in something more complex than HoI4 I can reccomend "Gary Grigsby's War in the East 2" and "Gary Grigsby's War in the Pacific: Admirals Edition" to you, though the latter is probably the most complex pc wargame out there (or unnecessarily in depth). Both are kind of expensive for around $70 but they go on sale often and you can get them for much less.
Hello. Valley of the dead King is Volume 1 and this is the second printing/edition. I think Volume is the word you were searching for. And the first difficulty (starter) is the only difficulty in which the enemies are not scaling with player count.
I moved to Computer based games along time ago. Your comments will reflect why I do not regret it. I’d much rather just play and not spend most of my time doing paperwork.
Yeah, I get it. I tried Hearts of Iron...once. I feel the same way about HoI as I do about A World at War.
Good point. I got back into boardgames to get away from too much time on PC. Yet, there are games that work best on PC for sure.
@@SapperTV1 Still not interested in the paperwork. But recently watching some UA-cam videos I missed looking at the board all laid out with the units. I’m a big fan of France 40 gold a PC Game. Working on a way to get myself a visual aid where I could look at everything like playing a monster game in the 1980s.
1:38 Best part of the video. Yep, rewatching after a few beers and can't stop laughing. Hard to believe that was two years ago!!
True dat 220 will do it, though
Hi, what is your set up? Camera and lighting Looks great, no glare.
Hi Shawn .... I'm wondering if you're playing wrong or I am. The basic rules on page 3 say 'Important: If more than one player selects the same phase, its action is still only performed once (with all the players who selected that phase receiving a bonus).' I noticed that when both you and the bot select the same phase (eg Settle or Develop) that you're going through the action twice ... and placing two settlements or developing two cards. That doesn't seem right. Also, you seem to have started the bot with 0 credits but it's only 0 if its start wold is Ancient Race. (pg 5 of Gathering Storm rulebook). Not sure if that would have made a difference - you may have been beaten even more badly in that case. :)
Some good games going there!
I don’t see much value in these games unless you’re specifically using them to setup A World at War. For example, you don’t really see the benefit of researching armour instead of strategic bombing. At least not in the context of the research topic, as opposed to an increase in the balance of power. If that makes sense.
Worst rules I have ever suffered. The rule book contains numerous images from WW2 that offer nothing but waste space and ink. Instead they should have included counter or chart images instead. I’m shocked that GMT would let this game be released as is. At least Storm Over Asia included a setup chart, assuming it makes sense.
I'm glad this was in a playlist, but you knee capped yourself with the background noise and the titling.
7:50, why would Russia help Pakistan? Did you mean India?
