2003,1.6,owned since January 2020,lohen big valve head,arp bolts,one off ew03 camshaft,schrick valves,alloy gtt flywheel,helix clutch,8mm plug leads,pipercross panel filter,R53 jcw callipers and 294mm Brembo discs,remapped at around 130/135 Bhp,front top brace&omp and ultra racing lower,rear strut brace,full scorpion non res with 4/2/1 orranje/scorpion manifold,sports cat and performance rubber mounts,I’ve fitted a full leather interior and three spoke steering wheel,KW v2 coilovers fitted running 1.9 degrees of camber with spc top mounts (caster and camber)polybushed engine and gearbox mounts done,polybushed suspension joints,alloy trailing arms and rear anti roll bar/swaybar,refurbished xlite (R84) 16s on toyo tr1 in 195/55/16,R53 front bumper and side skirts,full length braided lines,any help and advise is always welcome,as I will help others if I can.please subscribe and comment if you like,thanks

Took me 10 minutes to scrape the windows clear 😵💫 then off to Williams bmw/mini partd department to collect some rear subframe bolts and rear trailing arm bolts for when I upgrade the rear end components soon.

I've got to ask, what is the benefit of the lumpy cam? I've still got my R50 and the GTT, my GTT sounds like that on a cold start! But that needs a new cylinder head, and while I'm at it, the timing chain kit and SC service kit. The R50 is so reliable.
@@markd5266 the lumpiness is just a result of low revs with big cam lobes,it smooths out if you add another 500 revs,it’s all aimed at higher revs,like when you hear rally or race cars ticking over,then when they are full throttle they are smooth,as you want all the power up the top end,the r53 will do the same thing,but yes your right,the r50 is a good solid motor if looked after

@@Exhaustlover thanks,the system is about 3 years old now,so it’s coked up nicely inside now,the popping is natural since the recent work done 👍🏻
👌what if the car is ceramic coated? Can it be applies ontop or would it damage the coat
@@rxmarlo2303 I can’t see it being a problem🤷🏼♂️I use ceramic coats in spray form regularly over some products

the 6 speed transmission seems a great option.
@@Medes06 definitely,the 6 speed box is bombproof,just go with a single mass flywheel though,the duel mass is far to heavy for the r50,I’m running a gtt alloy one now after its remap,it’s much better now

@@minioner5080 I seen it, that's pretty decent for a mini one, I have a cooper and I just got a brand new engine, not a rebuild but a new factory engine about 20'000 miles, did a few things, hyper coolant mix,ac delete and condenser, throttle booster module,k and n factory panel filter,strut bar,getrag5spd , resonator delete back box delete 96-99 octane mix every now and then on autoX days. Brakes, Got a Turbo for it already just making my own custom kit and need to upgrade suspension. Getting a custom remap in a few week

Nice! Will be interested to see how many WHP it makes once it's remapped. My 2005 R50 makes 128-30 at the wheel; I've done pretty much everything but a ported head, although that's on my to-do list.

@@AMMO1981 it’s more of a glaze,I use various top coat protections on top after,preferably chemical guys vo7 or Autoglym rapid ceramic,EZ car care ghost

0 to 60 yes a bit,but only because of the heavy flywheel,but that’s going soon and having a lightened one fitted
@@minioner5080 thank you for your time, but I have another solution, there is a video on youtube, they made improvement of a Midland Gearbox with the Gearbox of Citroen C3 pluriel, it is a short version now. The car accelerate very quickly.

It’s a tough call,I like both but find ghost has a nice gloss,and beads well,it’s just not that slick,where as chromance is probably slicker,I’ve got so many products on the go at the minute,I think ghost is my go to

@@markd5266 80 quids worth of rear subframe and trailing arm bolts 😂😂😂,I’m going to have a go at swapping all the rear end out for either new genuine or oem parts,and a refurbished subframe with anti roll bar,and alloy trailing arms,all polybushed where I can apart from the trailing arms
@@minioner5080 I've seen that mod before, is that basically using the r56 rear sub assembly? What are the benefits other than lack of rust? I'd love to see a video on that, if you go down that route, but I think you've already made your mind up 😂
@@markd5266 the rear arms are r56,the subframe should be the same as your silver cooper,the trailing arms won’t rust your right,the rear subframe has lots of anti rust coating and paint on it so should be a good few years before I need to worry about that,as for the bushes and other bits,that will all be new,so should handle pretty fiercely,just most likely be my body won’t be able to handle it 😂😂😂😂😂

@@KyleAndClaire after it was installed (not by myself) it ran fine,but had it remapped afterward and gained optimal performance from it
@@minioner5080 Did remapping change the ignition angle? After finishing the stage1 , I switched to ph1 again, but the speed is still unstable.

That’s the on3 thing I love about the prefacelift is the lower rpm on the freeway.
I rarely use fifth or sixth on the motorway unless I’m on a long drive,I like it to Rev about 4 or 5 k 😂😂

It was dyno’d when they did the mapping,it was riverside racing in Liverpool,I’ve had a few bits done since,and getting a few more bits done soon so it might be getting mapped again at some point 😂

Looking good mate, seemed to be no noticeable body roll when flying round that roundabout! I've been thinking about a 30mm drop on mine but did you have any trouble with insurance?
There’s pretty much no body roll at all,even in a straight line it’s stiff,when going through the gears it doesn’t squat down at the back so it feels like it’s propelling you forward more,and under braking it’s nice and firm with a slight bit of dip so you can still feel what’s going on,as for the insurance I’ve not done anything about it yet,it’s up for renewal next month anyway
