Lije the video but as a history buff i must say i hate when people see germanic anything and go norse or scandinavian. Skyrim is far more close to viking age england/danelaw than anywhere else. The weapons like the norse style are more just generic germanic. The roman influences and vikings who left a colder north to live in skyrim... yeah its england and i always overreact to people saying its Norway or something lol 😅

All of the cities in Skyrim was a little disappointing to me, but that's because in my first playthrough I kinda expected them all to be bigger, as in big enough to be deserved to be called a city. But as we know, that's not the case.

The forsworn sword has more historical prevalence than you’d think. It seems to be based off a macuahuitl, which is a wooden sword with razor-like obsidian blades along its edges. Something similar was done with shark teeth, but I forget the name of that weapon. Sure, the weapon won’t hold up against iron or steel, but for nomadic raiders, it makes sense

Placing Daggerfall so low is wild. It is the game w the most freedom, rpg elements, factions, weapons, spells. the only thing bringing it down was the tech of the time and the story ending w the warp in the west effecting every game is awesome I also like that the main character is just an average fucking Joe. The agent is the one of only elderscrolls protagonist who that isn’t some prophesied legend allowing for maximum roleplay

Riften is absolute joke. Filthy, disgusting town, it stinks by only seeing that, stupid jarl - puppet of most hated Maven (yeah she's worse that Nazeem), absolutely disgusting thief guild quests with no option to destroy them as dark brotherhood, actual 3 levels of the city makes it hard to move without confusion and when you hit sewers it's even worse. I can only agree that woods around it are nice. And f*ck imperials btw.

My first character was a gnome but I had so much fun with him as a dragon sorcerer (gold/fire). He quickly became a demolition expert, misty step solved my short legs problem, and at high level, you can just fly instead of walking with your little legs.

My favorite thing about gnome is playing them to romance my least favorite characters. I want to do the romance to see all the story, and they keep part of their story just for their loves. So, I entertain myself by making them squat down to kiss their tiny gnome companions.

You are being foolish, judge the game set against it's time period, not looking the wrong way through a telescope. Obviously everyone's opinion is going to differ, for me the worst by complete experience is Oblivion and it's not even close, second worst is Skyrim. However if judged 'out of the box easily the worst is Daggerfall which was so badly bugged it was unfinishable, followed by Oblivion, Skyrim and finally Morrowind. I can't judge Arena because I've never played it; I looked at it but by then (two years ago) it was just too dated, as would Daggerfall be if it wasn't for Unity.

I broadly agree with you here, although I would bump glass waaay down the list. Still I'm glad to see the ebony/daedric swords lower. The weird over-designed stuff is just too much for me, especially when the oblivion ebony sword is just so damn good. I have played skyrim with a mod to slim the chonkiness which really helps with things lide dwemer, elven, and glass.

Better-shaped weapons is a staple in my mod list along with better shaped bows of the heavens before these mods, I had no idea how paddle-like and huge all the weapons were. The better-shaped weapons have a great look for ancient Nord weapons based on Viking and Celtic cultures, making it one of my go to blades when I use swords.

What is darksword and amber sword? Is that a mod?

I used to think maces were blunt weapons before I played Skyrim. The Stalhrim mace is the only 100% blunt mace in the game, but looks like a bowling ball on a stick. The Dwarven mace is probably my favorite, though it looks like it has blades as well, just under the top section.
