Im curious. On tne invasion of Makassar, when all they had was supply ships. Why didn't you seperate your planes and manually attack 4 targets? Your chances of taking out several ships would have been much higher.
I would have to look at the time stamp. If I targeted one target and selected the entire group each plane individually calculates its chance to hit. If you select the lead plane then they formation bomb. Individually selecting planes and then having them attack is the same as selecting them all and attacking. Due to level bombing kinda sucks in this mod I just want sunk ships and not damaged ones.
@DublinMarley I get what you are saying, but I'm talking about manual bombing, you guide to in and tell them when to drop. I just notice it's not something I've seen you do in any video yet.
@@HossNotright Yeah I generally just let the AI bomb. If I did manual bombing then all battles would take twice as long which i doubt viewers would want to watch.
Personally, I'd rather see more kills than failed attacks even if it took more time. But that's just one man's opinion.
Since when did war at sea get a Europe mod?
About six months ago or so. Its on the steam page. There is another one coming out also. The one currently out has two med campaigns, an Atlantic one, and a supply russia one. It has some faults but most of the ships are there and even a lot of ships that never made it off the drawing board.
Several of your playlists are in reverse order.

The defense of the US Navy’s fleet while in port at Pearl Harbor during the time of the attack was the complete responsibility of the US Army and US Army Air Corps! Can’t blame the Admirals. The Navy also had an equal parity with Japan in carriers at the start of the war. Our carriers were divided between the Atlantic and Pacific.

You know, with ASW once spotted, you can select the sub, although lost, to hunt them by clicking the chevron in the log for that sub and, from the surface, see where you are in relation to it…

Better term is "Axis-controlled Europe" because Germany was the only Nazi country but there were a number of European countries who were active members of the Axis alliance.

Neither the Bismarck nor Tirpitz were commissioned to sail in September 1939. They couldn’t have been sent to sea before the start of the war.

Is this mod buggy or not?
Mod works well. Most of the ship and plane issues have been fixed. Seen a strange convoy issue getting stuck but I think it fixed itself.
That very ship you like the look of ,HMS Belfast is moored on the Thames in London opposite the Tower of London as a museum ship. Well worth a visit if you're ever in London ! Very impressive !

Shift or control P will place a marker. Shift or control \ will do distance. I dont remember which it is shift or control off the top of my head.

Try having your fleet in different formation, other can be better for anti-air and such
It depends. If you have a larger ship in the formation line is better. Have the capital ships run and force the enemy to go through the line formation AA. I normally keep it line due to subs and surface action. If you surround the capital ships you limit AA from the far side and will allow the drop easier for the bomber.

Go to steam page and right click war on the sea in library. It should give the option to go to manage and then browse local files. Click local files. A file page will pop up. Create a file called MODS on this page. Put first download into the MODS file. Put JSGME on the main file pop up page. Click JSGME and another window will appear. Click the mod on the left and push the button with an arrow to the right on it. Then close it out. Load up the game. If you cant find JSGME download let me know and I will hunt it down.

The amount of rounds dropped on the destroyer is insane 14:51
If it was my destroyer it would have died in less than a minute. I am convinced the computer cheats. Actually I know it does. The threshold where ships sink is about 10% lower for your ships than enemy ships. This is all off the top of the head but I think we are around 32% and they are around 40%. There was a forum post on steam where I read about it. Seems about right.
Your mic is very quiet....game sounds are fine but can barely hear your voice !
I am trying to fix it but the problem seems very strange to me. One episode it will be good and the next horrible and I am not changing anything. When I go to twitch and test audio I can hear it just fine during the streams.
can you put fighters up first to escort the bombers?
You can but there is also the problem what if they sent bombers at your base from a different base? I will just abuse the system since I can but modder has changed timer from 72 to 180 in the next version. The problem with escorting bombers is range since only the channel ones would be in range and coordination. You end up having to go really slow to make everything hit at once.
Am curious why Bordeaux is not a naval port for Occupied France, nor is Danzig/ Gdansk for Poland.
Its a numbers issue. Too many ports/airfields will really unbalance the game to airpower. It is already air heavy as it is. Cant put them all in. I wouldnt mind removing the channel ports on both sides to increase the distance between bombers.

AFAIK historically, no Allied convoy entered the Baltic Sea to Russia 1939-1945. Subs did enter and exit with minefield hazards to both sides into the North Sea. The Polish surface vessels DID make a breakout for Britain in '39 as did their subs with some successes.
Thats what I thought. I think the objective of the game should be build the two russian ports in the north to both level five airfields and ports.
@@DublinMarley Agreed. RR and trucks (Ice-trucking via Ladoga's lake) got Leningrad's its supplies. Archangelsk and Murmansk make MUCH more sense

The phrase you seek on aircraft lineup at airfields would the "Order of battle" if I recall correctly.
It is just a minor annoyance that planes are sometimes first and sometimes second just switching places with the same plane.
this mod will be useless as soon the real atlantic mod comes out..with that torpedo stuff you mentioned
The version of east indies that I am running has torpedo deflection in it. Been saved and burned several times by it already. It's a prerelease version.

Better than me. If I listened to some of the comments, I am horrible at the game also. So, the convoys have begun. It will be interesting to see how the routes and where they send them. Only seen that one convoy that went to southern denmark so far. BTW I love the german sea plane with 4 torps. I am totally not going to abuse that once I find the main fleet. For the fighters and strategic air, I highly suggest pushing the leave timer up to 300 or 360 so the fighters have time to hunt down the bombers. At 70 or so I can just fly away and get away every time.
The mod was already posted when I realised you were gaming the system :) I'll increase the timer for air battles but it'll be next time. Why don't you play without the cheat? It might be a closer game :) EDIT: Changed it to 180.😁
That works. I can do that but I would rather just exploit loopholes in the game so they can be fixed and the next players will have a better game experience. 180 should cause some damage.
Just been testing the patrol bug problem. It's never happened to me. I just tested v 2.23m2 and ran it for 14 days with all bases patrolling and there were no problems. I also tested the version before v 2.23 and the same thing - no problems. So ????? I can only think it's a peculiar set of circumstances that triggers the bug, but I don't really know -yet.
It only happened in the second episode. I restarted from a saved game and it never happened again. Since then and the new version hasnt happened once.

The zero Engineering and Fuel supplies *only* applies to the Allied campaign - not the Axis. This makes the Allied campaign more difficult because you have to convoy all the supplies not only to the Soviets but also to your own smaller ports. It is also the way that the Allies are only able to build a rank 5 airfield at Leningrad by using convoys through the Baltic. Yes it will be a hard game (maybe impossible). The Axis game has all the usual supplies in Leningrad, Murmansk, and Arkhangelsk. It's just a question of the Axis making assaults in the usual way to win the game. The Axis doesn't have a Baltic problem so it would be certain victory if the Soviets had no supplies. Let's face it, nobody can rely 100% on the AI sea missions It's all mostly RNG. But as the Allies you can make all the decisions on what goes where
I enjoy your videos but this is such a lazy low effort mod.
The first version of this mod were so easy. Each update gets better and harder to play. The balance of airpower is still off but much better than before.
luckily it's a youtube vidya, and we CAN speed it up.... but I feel for ya

The British medium bomber is an American lend-lease B25 Mitchel with Radar, the bulge in the tip of the right wing. The Naval version with the nose full of 50BMGs used to strafe the ship AA gunners while skip bombing….
Hi, Yes the Soviet bases are not supplied with Engineering or Fuel and neither are ANY of your home bases. All building supplies must come via convoy from the Empire or USA supply points as will the convoys to the Soviets. The *only* way to get a level 5 airbase at Leningrad is by convoy through the "nutcrackers" into the Baltic. Your own home ports which have reasonable supplies must also convoy supplies to the secondary ports so that they can upgrade as required. I've also made strategic bombing very dangerous. You will lose at least half of each flight plus what you lose to fighters. It is going to be very difficult and will need adjustment as I go. I took down the mod for a couple of days because when I checked I found I hadn't put a couple of zeros where I should have - that's all it was - fortunate that I did because it led me to revise a few more things. There has to be a German home port at Trondheim because that's where Tirpitz and the German Norway fleet were stationed so I needed a port to spawn those assets. I limited the Tirpitz and the Hipper etc. to Trondheim. I think I limited the Soviet ports to Soviet ships in the recent update - I'll have to check. If not it is something that will be done next time.
If so then that is great. I have not seen a convoy go to any of the USSR ports yet. I also have a weird convoy with a bunch of supply ships and two BBs just stuck sitting in Liverpool. One thing with strategic bombing etc is the timer for fighter engagement is around 70 seconds. I suggest putting that to 300 or 360 because with the quick timer I can leave combat before the fighters can ever shoot down any of my bombers. Either way much improve campaign feel so far and each version is getting way better. Thanks for making it.
@@DublinMarley Really you would need to use the later update (V 2.23m2 it's available now) because that's the one that finally has the right mechanics to force the Allies to use the convoys. The stuck convoy in Liverpool is another problem I fixed in 2.23m2. I'd positioned the Liverpool port slightly too near the land and you can't set a course from there for your ships. I re-positioned Liverpool a tiny bit and we're off and running. So I'm grateful for your comments and video, without that forcing me to check, I just wouldn't have known how badly I'd stuffed up. Thank you.

Just a tip, but pressing report will show you the current condition of ships to see if sticking around is gonna be worth it or not, like the destroyer that was critical and critical was most likely going to sink but since to retreated you couldn’t continue the fight. Report allows you to continue tactical view

It is coming actually. Historic ships and numbers. New sub tactics. Resupply at sea etc. Newest patch for East Indies mod has some of the features like torpedo deflection.
