Ep 3 | The Biggest Mistake Pastors Made in 2024
Переглядів 1,6 тис.2 місяці тому
In a world increasingly hostile to Christianity, pastors need a theology on politics. The church isn't "getting more political." Politics are getting more theological. And as they do, phrases like... - The gospel is neither right nor left - Not red elephant or blue donkey, but slain lamb - Prophetic not partisan ... are not as helpful as once hoped. Josh Howerton and Josh McPherson share prac...
Ep 2 | How to Build a Wartime Ministry Family
Переглядів 25 тис.2 місяці тому
Emotional Sabatoge via his wife and children often neuter a pastor's pulpit and ministry if he does not get his "first ministry" (his family) right. With Negative World cultural pressure working to counter-disciple our families, this dynamic is exacerbated. @Josh_McPherson talks about building a wartime ministry family that fights WITH YOU instead of growing up to fight AGAINST YOU in Episode 2...

👉Do not employ a strategy that risks losing anointing.🔥🤝
Ezekial 8 - "So I dug into the wall [of the Temple] and saw a doorway there. 9 And God said to me, “Go in and see the wicked and detestable things they are doing here.” 10 So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls all kinds of crawling things and unclean animals and all the idols of Israel. 11 In front of them stood seventy elders of Israel, and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan was standing among them. Each had a censer in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense was rising. 12 He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of Israel are doing in the darkness, each at the shrine of his own idol? They say, ‘The Lord does not see us.'"
I find the arguments presented in the podcast quite problematic, particularly in the way certain topics are addressed. The claim that toxic empathy leads us to support lies and destructive policies is not only simplistic but also dangerous. It suggests that compassion for others, especially women in difficult situations, equates to endorsing sin, ignoring the complex emotional and social realities they face. The discussion on abortion is especially concerning. Portraying women who choose abortion as merely motivated by toxic empathy downplays the often tragic circumstances surrounding such decisions. The argument that abortion is inherently violent and immoral leaves no room for compassion or understanding of the individual stories and needs of these women. The podcast overlooks that it’s often not just about right or wrong, but about the real-life situations that lead to these choices. Additionally, a rigid binary view of gender and marriage is promoted, excluding the diversity of human identities and experiences, which can harm and alienate people. The assertion that only a specific form of marriage aligns with God's plan contradicts the experiences of many in non-traditional relationships or gender identities.
I wanna give a bj to Jesus ☺️💕
This conversation was convicting and edifying. Definitely going to relisten while taking notes!
This was incredible. I’ve listened to this over and over and over.
Two of my favourite Christian leaders! Both brought the heat in this episode and dropped lots of truth bombs.
Josh Howerton literally shepherd our church to a point where he could say what he needed to say.
Your conversation about the Holy Spirit was, in my opinion and experience, exactly correct. Thank you Pastor Tyson for your balanced explanation.
Makes me curious why he didn't hire that marketing manager.
38:52 it’s happening to the pastor at 2819 right now.
This is such good and powerful truth! He gives such a balanced and Gospel-centered answer to really pressing questions. I love this!
I’m interested in future episodes. But, I’m not sure the statement “no one has had an answer for negative world” is entirely true. The epistles are a negative world Context… Also, I admittedly haven’t read wren yet but, wren is not the first person to expose this. Go read Niebuher Christ and culture.
Watched this podcast along with a cup of hot tea at 1am gmt+8.. great topic!.. thanks Pastors for speaking on this publicly 🔥
Powerful 🔥
Thank you for your boldness and the TRUTH! Faith over fear. ❤
It may have just been me, but so feel like Josh M went from number 6 to number 8. I went back through the transcript too and couldn’t find 15. Is it possible to get them listed here?
This is so great and helpful! Thank you both for your clarity, boldness and leadership!
Keep it going men. The courage of Jesus is contagious!
This is absolute ministry training, folks!! Boots on the ground, fire, flood, mud, and blood. Keep them coming!!!!
This was INCREDIBLE! And I would love for my pastor to listen to it.
What you are describing from 46 min - 49 mins probably cannot be untangled, directed and discussed enough.
This is so helpful to know about our pastors and what they go through, and how to pray for them and support them.

I've just applied for this. I think my senior pastor would also enjoy it (I'm his associate) - if you're open to a couple of Northern Irishmen coming along, please let me know! Also excellent episode. Absaloming God is a great analogy.
This was so good !! Thank you Pastors, for letting us know that it’s ok to say that this is truth and that’s a lie, these guys are good and those guys are bad!! Because today people want to make you feel bad if your empathy is not the way they see it!! They want us to water everything down to make others feel good instead of saying the truth. So thank you for leading your flock in truth.
Loving this podcast so much! It’s exactly what all of us Christian’s NEED🙌🏼🙏🏼👏🏼🔥
I loved thisss
Love this discussion! I’m an older Christian for 50 years, I was so bummed pastor’s bowed down to do everything to keep people in the world satisfied . Let the Church be the church ! It’s the spirits job to grow the church
Been watching Allie Beth for two years solid and I have both of her books. Her truth has helped me successfully battle the left’s toxic attacks over and over again!❤
Thank you so much for setting me straight! I had no idea that there was such a thing as Toxic Empathy. Now I heard it, I get it and I really need to pay attention to the way I communicate on topics on any and all topics! Where can I find the election sermon?
Amazing! Thank you
Incredible podcast
So good!!! @alliebethstuckey please do another conference! ❤
I am a senior Biblical/Theological studies student writing my final capstone paper on contextualizing the Negative World. Your podcasts have been incredibly helpful in forming the basis of this paper. Is there any email I could contact with a couple of questions for you guys in regards to help with my research? Would be exciting to send you guys my final product as well! Let me know the best way to get into contact! Thanks guys!
Hahaha. Toxic empathy is the new evangelical cope. Anything to not have to actually follow the things Jesus teaches. Nothing but wolves in sheep's clothing.
Love Allie Beth! I’m a Relatagal! I saw your episode. Glad I found you!
Wow! That was a great podcast! Like someone else said, I am also not a pastor, but it spoke to me! I spend time with non Christians and progressive Christians and we talk…a lot. This kind of discussion helps me. Thank you both, Josh and Allie Beth!
I always say that empathy is a lot like peanut butter. It’s good for you, but if you overload on it, it’s not good for you, or for others. Also, Allie is one of the most intelligent, well-spoken people on the internet. I listen to her daily and I’m a 47 year old man.
Please keep this up!!
loved this.
Get your boots off the table and be a gentleman.
Have to agree- thought that image was a bit off putting
Its his tables and theyre his boots he can do what he wants
@ It’s the Lord’s table and that’s a woman in front of him. It also blocked camera angles.
Great content!!
So, So good!! Two of my favorite people to listen and learn from. More of this!!!
This podcast is chalked full of gems for all people in this walk we call life! Thank you!!!
Thank you. Bringing the truth in love.
I was 8 in 94 .
Two of my favorites!
This is all sooo good! And truth that the world needs to hear/we need to hear! Please keep going...
Uau, this episode was fantastic, my husband and I learned so much. Thank you and we’re excited to see what comes next.
