I think the main reason that she hates him is because of the way he looks because if you can't tell he looks exactly like his dad but nothing like his mother and though we never get the colour of their eyes at least in the show I can bet my money that's not going to be the same colour

The abuse in this show is so blatant that I'm shocked they tried to push the narrative that Henry is a bad kid. The writers either have no self-awareness, or are equally as sadistic as the parents.

Here's the problem with the show, they gave him more empathy. In the books he lives up to the title, and is basically a sociopath with how violent his fantasies are. In the show they made henry less mean and more empathetic which makes you feel bad for him
