Приєднався 22 сер 2023
February of 2023, my brother introduced me to sim racing. I bought an XBOX, basic cockpit and Thrustmaster wheel/pedal set. I immediately fell in love and 6 months later built myself an absolutely badass rig with Asetek equipment, triple monitors and a motion system. This channel will show my progression as a driver as well as contain reviews of equipment I use. Maybe one day, I’ll even be able to give racing advice. But for now, I’m slow as hell but having a ton of fun learning to race. Thanks for being here, I hope you enjoy the content.

External Rear View Camera with Radar
Переглядів 7 тис.3 місяці тому
Get more immersion with this external rear view camera screen with radar for your sim racing rig. This rear radar system was created by The Wheel Feel on IG and modified by me to show the distance of cars behind you. It's intended to be used on an external HDMI screen with the use of SimHub in conjunction with OBS Studio. Big thank you to TWF for this system! The Wheel Feel on IG: instagram.com...
Sim VS IRL Lap at Spa Francorchamps w/Kevin Tse
Переглядів 2236 місяців тому
24Hours of Spa is this weekend so I thought it would be fun to do a lap around Spa and compare my lap in the sim to Kevin Tse’s lap during his qualifying run for 2022 24hr of Spa. I matched the humidity and air temp in the sim to his lap here. The audio is from his car. Watch how often our shifts are damn near the same throughout the lap. Pretty wild. His gearing a tad different. His 4th and 5t...
TC Telemetry in iRacing?! Testing the New Dash.
Переглядів 2747 місяців тому
Just finished up this new dashboard for my rig and decided to do a test run around Spa. Using the Dahl Design SimHub Plugin to get TC data from iRacing along with the Daniel Newman Racing LED profiles to show the data I want and seamlessly sync my wheel, dash and brow LEDs.

Need yo plug your emergency button in more. Felt like i was gonna break mine to get ot flush. Yes it takes that much force. The flashing means you also could be not getting enough power. But sometimes the software does bug out.
hey man I saw that you had a tv in the room and next to it there was a wheel that was giving off effects. How did you do that?
💪
hi bro, somiglia molto alla mia postazione
Top 👍
Really nice and clean space 👍
Thank you!
I recently uploaded a video on my next level racing cockpit, you video just made me realize that there’s more I can do with my rig. Thanks
Awesome! No problem!
Your top shelf of bourbon is truly top shelf. The second to top is also top shelf. Nice ambiance in the room. Clean setup!
Thank you!!
What cables you use to connect the camera to the pc? Thanks
I just use a 3.5mm headphone cable that runs from the headphone jack on the PC to the mic jack on the GoPro media mod.
dude i've just come across your channel. HO-LY! Those swappable gt/lmp dashboards are gorgeous. You've inspired me to create some! If you can make a video going into more detail about them I think a lot of people would appreciate it (how they attach to your rig, how you templated the cutting, what materials you used, etc.) All the best from the UK 👍
Thanks so much! I definitely should whip up a little video showing off the dashes. They’re suuuuper easy to make.
This looks AMAZING! You should do some streaming either on UA-cam, or twitch. I would definitely watch these all day
Thank you!! I actually just recently started streaming a bit with this POV view. Definitely going to try and start streaming more.
love the room man! Where did you get that sofa? Do you like it?
Thanks dude! I picked it up used from someone but I found the exact sofa on Wayfair. I’ll see if I can come across the link and I’ll send it to ya. It’s cheeeeeeeap. Don’t let too many big dudes sit on it at once 🤣
@@Mancave_Racecar awesome thanks! fortunately i'm the only man in the house so that shouldn't be a problem lol
@@gobigorange7077pretty sure it’s this sofa. Like $315 right now. a.co/d/hVqs8so
Why not just use the in game dashboard? Your dashboard totally breaks the realism to me, it clearly looks like screens behind some sort of box. I see you are copying RBM's cockpit, i suggest you copy that as well. Also try to break earlier when following cars because those punts would give you penalties vs other humans.
🔥
Asetek is so responsive.
congrats!
Yes
I was into all of this stuff. Dashboards etc. I had 5 dashes running through Simhub. LEDS. Then I got into VR. I realized I could never go back to flat screen not even my triples. Now I've discarded all of my dashboards because they are pretty much pointless in VR. You cant beat VR for immersion. It wasn't an easy decision after putting in all the work and money. But now I slip my headset on and off I go. I still use very tactile button boxes (switches, knobs, dials & buttons) that I can feel my way around while I am in VR but that's it. My wheels with built in screens are also pointless now. I call it progress.
I have both but I'm selling the VR. VR is very immersive but just a giant pain.
VR is great man. Such a cool experience for sure. But, I actually prefer triples. One day, I think VR will get to the point where I prefer that but for now, I really enjoy triples with all the extra peripherals.
@@huludical1 I agree, VR can be a pain. I've created several multi action buttons on my stream deck . I've automated most functions I would've had to do manually through batch files. I switch my Pc on. Power my headset which connects automatically and push a single button. About 20 actions run off that single button. Then the game launches and I play. If I want to change my VR settings they have also been bound to buttons that run scripts. I even change in game graphics settings, controller settings all via batch files linked to single stream deck buttons. I never have to use a mouse and keyboard to do anything. I sit down push a couple of SD buttons, put my headset on and play. It took me ages to get every sim set up but it was totally worth it. My scripts can even change my Steam account depending on the game I'm launching. Even my CPU & GPU overlock when I launch the game and then return to normal clock speed once I exit the game. I had allot of fun figuring out ways to get this all done. But my aim was to be able to run all of my sims in many different configurations with all of my complicated hardware and software, including different VR settings, with as few actions required on my part. Most are just 3 actions. Power PC. Power VR headset. Push 1 SD button for the sim. And I'm off to the races. I had no end of frustration previously when I was required to do all of this manually. Nothing worse than being at the start line of a race and as the lights go green you realize Crewchief didn't load or you have the wrong controller profile or the wrong pixels per display setting for that car and track combination 🤣🤣🤣
super good video, a question in obs, can the image be sent to a cell phone in simhub or can it only be sent to a screen?
It can be sent to a phone but there’s some extra software and steps that need to be taken. Boosted Media did a tutorial on how to do it quite a while ago. Just UA-cam search “Boosted Media Rear View Camera.”
:) yesssssssssssssssssssss
Just curious how did you get the “ Lovely Pitwall “ on your TV please @Mancave_Racecar
I do it the same way you would wirelessly with your cell phone.
@@Mancave_Racecar So you use your web browser on your tv?, sorry newbie with this stuff!!
@ that’s correct! Just use the browser and punch in the IP that SimHub tells you to use.
Nice rig! I gotta ask tho, what kinda nvgs are you rockin on the helmet?
Those are DTNVS’s.
@@Mancave_RacecarAwesome, congrats on the setup
@@evanlanier6891 thanks!
Your wall color is exactly what I have been searching for. What shade of Matt’s black is that?
It is called peppercorn from Sherwin Williams paint.
Where did you get the surrounding piece for your dashboard?
Made it myself. It’s just some foam board with carbon fiber vinyl. The brim of the dash is 3D printed and wrap in alcantara.
@Mancave_Racecar looks great
@@Tosirius727 thanks!
10/10 would do a sleepover here.
10/10 would snuggle in your sleeping bag. 😉
I've been wanting a GSI wheel for a while (among a few others but every sim wheel is $$$). I keep reading thoughts about they are too big, well feel too big. Wish there was a way I could try one before spending that much and then not liking it. My gen 1 Ascher F64 almost feels too small though so maybe a GSI would fit me better. Badass setup though! Hope mine can come close to that eventually.
The HP1 is a bit on the large side but it still feels great for F1/GTP/LMP racing. I really like it, but I loooooooove the X29. The width is much smaller and it feels amazing for GT. Super light and nimble. I absolutely love the X29
if you have a micro center near you they sometimes have rigs on display and use the gsi wheels on them.
I love the GT3 dash setup. I'd like to do something similar but worry about my dbox throwing it right into the monitors under hard braking 😅
Hahahaha. Just gotta find a good way to mount it!
Unreal setup man! What lighting did you use on those wall-mounted helmets to back-light them?
They’re just a couple of photography lights I have. They don’t actually live there, I just used em to make the video cooler. Haha. VIJIM VL120 RGB Video Light,... www.amazon.com/dp/B08Z3BQYM1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
love to see it
Hey, nice you showed this all. But where is your clutch?
No clutch yet. I plan to get one eventually but nearly all of the driving I do (GT3 and GTP) does not require a clutch.
@@Mancave_Racecar Ah yes, makes sense. You are one of those mainstream-drivers. You don´t know what you miss if you could drive a Porsche 917K with clutch, heel & toe. Well...
@@MetalSimVR buddy no one cares about your clutch superiority. most of us drive manual sports cars in real life and would rather drive competitively in the sim
How did you your roof for the rig in the thumbnail photo! ❤
It’s just a piece of 1/4 inch MDF board that I painted black, wrapped with carbon fiber vinyl and set on top of my monitors.
@Mancave_Racecar simple and does the job nice bud!
@@benjisyt exactly!
Beautiful setup brother
Thanks so much!
Amazing room man! How did you do the led COTA on the wall?
Thanks so much! I designed the track with a channel I could slip the Govee LED light into and 3D printed it. It’s like 20 individual pieces I stuck to the wall with some 3M wall tape.
Clean set up 👍🏼
Thank you!
Hi just wondering what pc specs you have and your Iracing graphics settings please maybe an idea for a video. Great work
Thanks so much! I have a pretty nasty PC build. 4090 GPU, Ryzen 9 7800X3D, liquid cooled, all that jazz. Pretty much all of my iRacing settings are cranked to the max. If there’s something more specific you’re looking for, let me know and I’d be happy to check for ya the next time I jump into my rig.
@Mancave_Racecar perfect just confirms my next build! I've been waiting on the 9800x3d so I can update my i9 9900k & rtx3080 build I done in 2020. Cheers for replying
@ very nice! No problem at all!
I was here for 🥃 4:27 😂 That’s the beauty of sim racing, you can drink and drive safely in your own home 😅 Nice setup, thanks for sharing 👍
Haha! Absolutely! Thanks for watching!

I love the sofa with a whisky shelf just arms-length away, well done bud, really classy timeless set-up.
Thanks so much!
It's honestly one of the very best rigs I've seen, well done Matt, bravo 👏 👍 🙌 ❤
Thank you!
Nice little mancave, this would be impressive a while ago, now this is like the 1000th video showing the same thing.
wow wish my girlcave looks like this 😍
Haha! It’s never too late!
Anyway to get more info on the fan setup you use. That’s something I have been looking for.
I’m using some 120mm fans I picked up on Amazon. I 3D printed an adapter with built in air straightener to attach a 3” tube to them. I went with the particular tube I used because it holds its shape.
