Seat Concepts XR650R Install
Today we tackle something many XR650R owners complain about, the seat. Honda is one of the best if not THE best at making engines that are reliable and are actually built to last. The one thing Honda seems to always fail at is their seats. My Africa Twin was excruciating, and my BRP is the same. It's a 2X4 and a slippery one at that.
So let's rip the old one off and staple us a new saddle so we can enjoy our seat time as intended. I am not a professional just a guy who does things I like, and am not afraid to get my hands dirty.

There were a few things that just aren't quite right and could use some fixing from the original dual sport conversion. First is the blinkers were hitting the fuel tank and breaking. This is the finished project and a completely functional dual sport lighting and charging system installed on my 2007 Honda XR650R. Complete install video coming soon from start to finish all installed by me in my garage, This is not a kit, I ordered everything myself individually. Also, this ended up being a total 12v DC conversion.

I decided to change the soft top bag with a hard top case. As a new adventure bike rider, I tested if I wanted a top box/bag with a cheap bag from Amazon, while I've been happy with it, the soft bag has let me down as it does not stay closed very well. This shows the overview if you want a little throatier sound out of your Africa Twin, what you can do to get a little more sound without being obnoxious. This took about 10 minutes and was super easy. I have seen others talk about breaking exhaust bolts, but I didn't have any problem.

4 gang rock drill making holes in the 605 and 10 fwy. interchange. They were only using 3 of the 4 rock drills. Gang drill recently repaired by Inland Empire Tool in Ontario.
