Just a chap who like cars.
Triumph Trident with Zard exhaust and quick shifter.
This is my Triumph Trident 660 fitted with the optional Quick Shifter and a full Zard exhaust system (non-Euro 5).
My upshifts are a mix of clutch & quick shifter, however all my downshifts are manual.

Anglesey Coastal Circuit Trackday - Caterham 420R
Переглядів 4 тис.2 роки тому
Opentrack trackday at Anglesey on 20/06/2022. This was my first time at Anglesey, and this video is from a fairly early afternoon session once we'd switched from the International to Coastal Circuits, hence why I'm trying different lines through to Corkscrew. Some slidey moments and fun following Lee in his E46 M3 too.
Caterham 420R at Cadwell Park - Follow & Lead with Noel

Another video from the L7C track day at Cadwell Park on 23/05/22. Feeling more confident with the track now, I'm very much enjoying playing follow & lead with Noel, who is giving me a lot of confidence to push into Coppice (building up to an entry speed of 110mph)
L7C Caterham 420R - Overtaking at Cadwell

Once into the afternoon and the mixing of Red & Blue groups, it created a greater number of cars to overtake (the Red Group was FAST!). This was early afternoon on my first trip to Cadwell Park, so still very much learning the basics of the track.

An evening session with Javelin Trackdays at Donington Park. My first time at Donington, and it was a good evening in spite of 3 red flag incidents. My Go Pro managed to miss all the best footage, so basically this video is a bunch of out-laps....

A couple of laps following Noel in his fabulous PP-tuned Superlight 20. These are just a couple of laps from one of the later sessions, whereby we were having great fun playing Ducks & Drakes, i.e. taking turns following & then leading each other. More videos to come.

For my Birthday, I was gifted a selection of classic drives via DriveDadsCar.com website. This car was chosen by my Mother, likely as some form of punishment for my behaviour as a child. Well firstly, my younger Son wouldn't ride in it. This was mainly down to having watched that classic Top Gear where Clarkson drives around rolling the 3-wheeler at every given turn. "I don't want to go in it, ...

For my Birthday, I was gifted a selection of classic drives via DriveDadsCar.com website. This car was chosen by my Father, as he had one back in the day. What a surprise this was, especially after the Midget. Very roomy and comfortable inside, it steered very nicely and actually felt like it has some structural integrity to the body. It was very soft in ride (although under-damped) which, alon...

For my Birthday, I was gifted a selection of classic drives via DriveDadsCar.com website. This car was chosen by myself as I thought it would be a nice experience not too dissimilar to my Caterham; how wrong I was! Lovely looking car, but an absolute dog to drive. Like all the cars on the day, nice fruity little engine was good throttle response, but the steering and chassis were unbelievably b...

Taking my Caterham 420R to Northampton Motorsport for a full mapping session. They did different maps for varying conditions of use; a Trackday map with Raceco can and airbag, a more 'fruity' map for, erm, hooning etc.

Guys is this MPPSK also compatible with 2018 340i GT (OPF version)?
Beautiful video dude!
LSD on this ? Love your Videos, watchin again and again Wish you had make more with this model
How many db of noise do you reach on the static and drive by? I saw mallory was 103db, which is atleast a bit more forgiving. I have an sv with roller barrels and am a bit worried about the noise
Best sounded car amazing v12
That induction sound is just great. 😀
The sound of that car heals my old ears and sends my soul straight to my childhood. Pure delight.
did you go for the tracsport diff? did you find it quieter?
Yes I did fit a Transport and have had it for 2 years. Much quieter than the standard Titan, no knocking or clonking etc. I changed the oil last Winter and it came out the same colour as what went in - a very good sign!
Great to hear. Just spoken to Steve, I’m thinking of doing the same thing. My titan has been rebuilt 1000 miles ago by R&R with new sintered plates and it’s still horrendous. Doesn’t even work very well never mind all the noise.
@@chrischadwick5395you won’t be disappointed with the Tracsport. Quiet, reliable and amazingly progressive when locking.
@@granthibbett its ridiculous that they sell the car with the faulty Titan diffs,
Nice 👍
When you're sitting so low, how could you read the word slow below 😂
Just got a 6MT 440i xDrive 2019 with MPPSK and the brake/suspension package as well. I'm having way too much fun in Sport+ with the exhaust noises
Be HONEST Guys, does it really need "more" caterham than this ⁉️ DO you really have more Joy with a 420R ? It's Not about acceleration but the pure feel of driving. In my opinion a Superlight with 145-160 hp 1.6 is best machine to drive
Well I can answer that as having had my 1.6 Supersport for 4 years, I'm now >3 years into my 420R. And I definitely prefer the 420R.
@@granthibbett I think Just because of the acceleration
A great blatt that was... I can easily see that a 40 min run to a distant coffee shop, could easily turn into a more distant blatt to a pub for lunch, then a further scenic blatt back home again for arvo coffee with the missus, and she wondering why you have such a big grin on your face. Intoxicating Caterham fun. Just one small ask... reposition (Raise) the forward view video camera, the drivers mirror obscures the view down the road... yes, we viewers like to see where we are going also. But great drive. Thanks for the blatt.
She holds sooo well!
I like my dual Dellortos. The induction sound alone makes my day.
Really makes me want a Caterham again. I sold mine in 2002. It was a 1.6k Supersport. Same power. Exhaust on left side though.
Hahaha
A sunny English day, Caterham 7’s and fish and chips are a match made in heaven.
how did you get her in there?😂😂
atom was such more , amazing
Is this the stock exhaust?
is that a standard exhaust?
It had the optional ‘peashooter’ exhaust.
I have got to do this now 😂
Raw 7 driving sound = LIKE
9 years ago and it was only 2013 was like yesterday haha, good fun that car :)
Question: does the m performance exhaust fit any bmw 340 such as base models? Or does it have to have the m sport package with the body differences?
So I take it the "Tracsport" is going in instead?
Done 10 months with the 420R SV now Grant. I've owned Cobras, TVR, Mustang... but this is the best sports car I've encountered. Love it. Brakes haven't impressed me so I'm having the bigger calipers and vented disc option, should have specced that when I ordered it ! In every other way its incredible. Steering, grip, ride, and that tireless and torquey Duratec motor :)
Glad to hear it! Ref the brakes, check your pads; the standard Mintex pads aren't great, and something like Ferodo DS2500 make a massive difference to the braking performance and brake feel.
@@granthibbett interesting, thanks Grant :)
Odd Australian reply out of nowhere - acquaintance of mine swears by Endless-Japan brake pads. Had some up front in my Nissan Silvia years back - 👍
Looks like the grand borough fields great roads
The satisfied laugh in the end 😄 This setup sounds really good. Was it just the rear box setup that changed or was it all downpipe etc?
Full cat-back system.
That is sick!
Good to see you show huge respect to the horses! Great fun video.
When I here the laugh at the end, I know I’ve got to have one. That’s the biggest conformation for me
This video just sealed the deal for me, absolutely going with this exhaust for my 340
That laugh at the end. Makes it all worth it.
🤣 amazing.
3:35 why?
She don't scare at all, she got big balls
awesome drive and that souuuuundddd omg
Nice driving!
The mppsk exhaust doesn't have resonator?
nope
Looks quick 2ltr ford sounds efi I have similar good you kept to speed limit 😉 mother in laws a good sport to lol 😆
😂he loves that ha great cars 👍
Love your piloting of the 420R Grant, by the way are you using ZZR tyres here ? Very recently took delivery of my 420R SV and on a learning curve; definitely the best sports car I've ever owned and I wasn't expecting that !
Thank you Paul. BTW did you recently post on PistonHeads ref nose cone fitting? Anyway, yes I was on ZZRs. It was my first time on track in my 420R, and my first time using ZZRs, so was taking it relatively easy. They’re great tyres on track, but avoid for road use. Congrats on your 420R. Was it brand new? They’re great fun and it’s very enjoyable taking the time to learn driving them.
Once got to go in one of these ans standard 1600 gt xflow 3rd gear was silly what a motor good fun..🤙
I had watch this vídeo several times just Seen the performance is a stress relieve GREAT GREAT VIDEO
🤩👍👍👍👍
good motor
Was this a 140 supersport you had? Seems rapid
Hi Craig. Yep, Sigma Supersport 140bhp.
@@granthibbett looks like it goes like a 180bhp. I lived my sigma with throttle bodies when I had it but happy with my DVA R400 k series spec.
@@craigthornberry6404 did you have a 150bhp Sigma then? Great engine. How do you find it compares with the K?
Yes but wanted more power. So I got the R400 spec DVA superlight no. 128 in January and a love the high reving nature of the K series dry sump. 8250 rev limit. It surpasses my driving skills for sure. I think the nicest sounding caterham is your 420 on throttle bodies!!! Best sound.
Forward camera could have been better positioned? Great sound tho👍
