    I’m still haven’t pulled the trigger on one yet. I tried to pull one out yesterday to see how the frame sizes fit but couldn’t get it out and it looked like one of the spokes was bending from the metal hook that holds the tire on the rack. I may go back later this week and see if I can get both off the rack, pick a size and order one online so I can assemble myself. Hoping to use this bike to practice bike mechanics on it.

    Great to see you getting more miles on the Ozark G1 Explorer bike before the rain comes in. It's nice that there are off road sections that you can ride in your area. I take it that you're in a rural area that isn't too overdeveloped with housing and shopping centers galore. Oh btw, I am in the process of developing my new UA-cam channel which will focus on some bicycling content and also music related vids that I will be posting from time to time. I previously did some videos under the name - distantcyclist. Then when I upgraded to a new phone recently, I decided to start a new channel that is forthcoming. Stay tuned for that bro. As somebody who put another $850 in a $800 Trek Marlin 7 your justification to put $1000 into a $250 bike doesn't sounds quite so crazy! Now that I have my Marlin more set up for trail (initially it was more like a hybrid with wider tires) I may have to pick one of these up! I'm still not sold on the drop bars though. Would straight bars look weird on this?

    • @MASHLEY69
      @MASHLEY69 10 днів тому

      Nice love a good Marlin! Drop bars can take a bit to get used to, but they are so good once you get comfortable. People have flat bar gravel bikes. Pretty easy conversion, Poseidon actually sells their gravel bikes in both options, drop or flat. So it would be just fine. I’ve found in cycling the more “weird” the more “cool” lol 😂

      Also keep in mind the stock rims and tires are NOT rated as tubeless ready. The stock tires for sure will likely fail tubeless since they’re wire bead. Hey thanks for the comment. You’re so right. I basically picked up a $250 frame and made it personal for me. I’ve got trail bikes for the dirt, that’s where I love to spend most of my riding time. However, when the rain closes them around here, it could be several days before they open back up. I still get that itch to go spin the legs so that’s where this bike comes in. It’ll be a pavement princess. Originally I was only intending to change the fork and wheels. But I found a great deal on the 105 Groupset on Facebook marketplace place. 😊

I guess the algorithm threw you on my home page and I decided to check out the Ozark gravel bike content to see if it's a fad or not. They’re good for getting in lots of miles in a shorter amount of time. Because they’re more efficient than the trail bikes. @MASHLEY69 13 днів тому

      Hey there… thanks for watching and commenting… I actually like the saddle and still have it on the bike. . . I think this is one of the best stock saddles I’ve seen on a budget bike. I’m usually ok with almost any saddle. However, back a few years ago when I got back into cycling … I thought OMG THESE SEATS, they’re killing me!! lol. I instantly reached for “comfy” gel saddles. But found that those didn’t really help either. It was just a matter of getting your bottom used to the seat. Padded cycling shorts will help, and eventually I believe your butt will adapt to the seat and it becomes less uncomfortable. But a seat is one of those things that is going to be personal and different for everyone.

      @@tenfourproductionsllc yes with the drop bars you will definitely notice a difference in riding position. It’s not super terrible, and you’ll get used to it over time. You can add riser drop bars, and riser stems and give it a more upright position. You could also do a flat bar conversion, relatively easy. @@tenfourproductionsllc yeah it’s a much more forward leaning position. Like sport motorcycle vs adventure/standard

    Thank you for the video. By the way, do you remember how much the frame itself weighs? (just the frame)

      I didn’t weight the frame by itself. I’d imagine it weighs between 4 to 6 ish lbs, but can’t say for sure.

    Who else is confused about why there was a picture of Joe Swanson from Family Guy? Lol

      Ha! In an episode, Joe is asking Meg talk about lady Gaga, and he says something along the lines of “is that a band or a soda…? Whatever it is I LIKE IT!”

    It’s my understanding that pedals shouldn’t spin really freely otherwise it can make getting a foot back on the pedal more difficult. Smooth but not free. I didn’t know this until my first set of aftermarket pedals that were decent quality and looked it up.

      makes sense. I probably just get satisfaction out of a fast spinning pedal. I also feel like in my mind, it spins more freely, I can pedal faster :-)
