Gave vibes like the War of Arrows. Gabtara Ucun. Well done.
I need to do this, thanks for the inspiration 🙏
I 100% support indoor practice.
And thank you for your support🙏🏻 I don’t really see how I can ‘not forget’ how to shoot properly if I don’t practice indoors
Hi Minty, How are you doing? I assume this is your new house? Great to see you (still) practising, that's the important thing. Technique is actually pretty good, primary thing I noticed is some collapse (of the draw hand) just before release, if you focus on making the draw feel like you are continuously pulling with your draw hand (while pushing with your bow hand) I'm sure your arrow flight will improve. I try to focus on pulling my draw arm elbow back, back, back and keep the feeling of trying to keep pulling it back even when my draw is maxed out, that helps me keep back tension. How is the horn bow doing? Was my advice of any use? Would love to talk more to you if you have the time. Best regards, Louis Pastoors
Hey Louis, I hope you’re doing better. Yes, indeed! We moved here at around mid April, and I have to say that we feel much better now. Both my wife and I have been focusing more on our work this year, but I think I can indeed spare some time for practice. Thank you! And yes, I do agree with your observation, which is why I captured the motion in slow-mo as well. I suppose this should be my next homework! As per the hornbow, I think I finally got the gist - Applying the same principle, I tied the bow tightly on the bow case, and placed some books under one limb so that it’d bend the other way. But the problem was that the material I used to tied the bow was not strong enough to fix it on its place. So I got myself some ratchet straps, and did the same - and voila, it showed some visual result within one day! So I put it back, and am waiting for a couple more days to (almost) completely remove the twist. I’m sorry for my lack of responsiveness, I’ll try to make as much time as possible! I’ll come back with a video with the hornbow next week. Best, Minty
Definitely one of my new favorite channels. Keep the momentum going my friend! I would love to set up an indoor practice range but my girlfriend has been against it from the start. It doesn't help that archery freaks our dog out... I really like your bow decoration and thier DIYs. So cool!
Haha thank you for your visit, and your encouraging comment that I certainly don’t deserve!🫡🔥 Ah yes, my wife is almost always supportive of my projects, but I do think that she would have been opposed to it if we had pet as well. No matter, you could still keep up the momentum in the course or on the range! Again, thank you so much and I wish you a very pleasant evening🙏🏻
There's often "smart people" in comments ready to tell anyone they are doing things wrong. Shame. Practice is the way to improvement. Great timing by the way I just put one up regarding working on my Manchu draw.
Thank you for your comment! Haha yeah, I mean I’m all up for constructive criticism, which is mostly how I find ways to improve, but just calling it ‘eye sore’ without much elaboration is just a shame. I just found your channel and after your video on Yarha, I immediately hit the subscribe button! Let’s keep it going, as the archers of YT🔥 Thank you again, and I wish you a fantastic day!
This is so amazing! New sub! I'm wanting to make my ktb look more like a horn bow. This is just the info i need! Thank you, sir. You are quite a craftsman.
Hahaha thank you for comment! Please don’t hesitate to ask if you’d like my opinion on certain aspects of the work. And remember - if I can do it, you’ll probably do better!
Cool mug bro
Tanks. My wife got me this beauty two weeks ago. We also got a Gromit butter dish, but I could not possibly find an ample excuse to include that in this clip. Maybe next time I might as well include a bit where I take a sip of tea from my trusty Gromit mug, followed by me taking a bite off a buttered toast - and get this, show the butter dish in split second. Anyhow, thanks for the comment.
Nice little set-up. I'm not able to practice at home at the moment but if you can do it, maybe I can too. Thanks for sharing 🙏 I think it's the little things like this, that nobody sees, the solo practice and prep that is important to share. To inspire and help people understand what's actually involved in the journey.
Thank you for your comment!🙏🏻Of course, I have no doubt that you’ll be able to come up with a nice little indoor-practicing corner, especially with your level of enthusiasm which I always find exemplary🫡 As a small-niche community, I think it is important that we inspire and encourage one another to keep the fire going🔥 Have a great evening, and I hope to see more of your clips, preferably soon!
A very nice quiver.
@@KTBIOM Thank you! I actually have a new one, which I will show soon in the channel👌🏻
@solhoibaturu Cool. Looking forward to it.
I have the very weird habit of doing that on the last arrow of my volley, and only that one. That I have 3 or 10 arrows in my belt, it's fetch-nock, fetch-nock, fetch-nock... fetch-spin-nock, empty. I have a feeling of unfinished if I don't spin the last, and don't ask why 😅
We need not be ashamed of our habits! 🤣
looks very nice!
Thank you good sir!
is it just me or are your manchu arrows wibbly wobbly
Haha they are actually a bit wibbly wobbly, mostly because of my bad release
Cool stuff man 👍🏼
Thanks man

Beautiful Bow, I want one, please inform me where to buy.
Hi, and thank you for your comment! I bought the bow from Zeng Ming from China. To buy the bow, you will need to contact him via WeChat, and commission a bow. It will take anywhere between a year and a half-two years for the bow to be completed, and the price is $1,000 excluding the shipping. If you’d like to know further, please let me know after opening a WeChat account. Thank you again, and I hope you have a lovely day!
Cool stuff 👍🏼

@@solhoibaturuNo problem bruh
Nice to see you finally got your horn bow Minty! As always really nice decoration work from Lee Fan. The bow definitely needs a good bit more training though. Please keep a good eye on the balance of the bending of the limbs! Especially that bottom limb, it's being overpowered by the top limb., looking at the draw profile around 4:05 in the video that bottom limb has quite a scary "hinge" rather than a smooth well-spread-out bend. Train the bow for a couple weeks and see how it develops, if it doesn't improve you might have to scrape a tiny bit of horn from that top limb. Best regards, Louis Pastoors
Thank you Louis, and I am sorry I am not as responsive as before; I think this year in particular is not leaving me be in one place...as per the bow, yes I am incredibly satisfied, but in the same time trying to work on balancing those limbs. If you would have any suggestions, I'm all ears! It's my first hornbow and I am open to any advices offered. In any case, I wish you a wonderful Summer 🙂 Best, Minty H.
@@solhoibaturu No worries Minty, I know you have an extremely busy life. "training" a hornbow is actually fairly simple and very intuitive; just bend it in the direction you want it to move, with light balancing issues you can bend the stiff spot over your knee(s)/legs, etc, for a couple seconds, more severe spots or severe twists require more bending or preferably for longer periods of time, sometimes days or weeks, some people build jigs for it, but a table, some clamps, and some blocks of wood work just fine. I'll try to find some videos of hornbowyers on how to balance hornbows but you can start by stringing up the bow, and bending the horn belly side of that stiff upper limb over you knee, right around mib-limb, forcefully exaggerating the bend, because you are pulling the bow towards you you will at the same time relieve pressure from the weak lower limb, and so should see it straighten out, you are basically forcing the concentration of the bend away from the lower limb and into the stiff section of the stiff upper limb, that will "train" the bow to bend more in that spot. Hold it for a couple seconds, pull the bow to full draw, check the balance of the bending, repeat the correctional hold for longer if the imbalance persists, you might have to strap that upper limb over a bending block for a couple days if it's stubbornly stiff. Hope this is clear, if not please let me know and I'll try to make a video.
와 진짜 이쁘네요!
감사합니다 선생님! 윗장이 아직 뻣뻣하고 다소 틀어짐이 있어 더욱 다스려야할 것 같습니다ㅎㅎ
Hi i wish to reach out to you for some questions. Is there a way i can reach out to you on WhatsApp or Facebook. My WhatsApp is +60122669631, and Facebook is Ronald Chong Kok Hoong / Bamboo Archery - Malaysia
Very nice bow. And Li Fan is very good at decoration. Have you ever tested the arrow speed of this bow?
Hi! Thank you for your comment! Li Fan is indeed my inspiration and my mentor for bow decoration attempts🫡 Unfortunately, I don’t have the equipment necessary to measure the arrow speed😢 But I would like to try when I meet anyone who does! Thank you again, and I hope you have a lovely day👌🏻
Nice shot, Solid Thud
As expected of him!
Does it come with the knotted string originally?
Yes it does!
I feel this every time I watch the video, but the arrow flight is so bad that it bothers me :)
I blame my lack of practice, which is something I’d like to work on when I have enough time :) Thank you for your input nonetheless!
Beautiful bow!! Did u paint the green ray skin, or does it already come like that? Could you make one video specifically about making your own arrow? I see that it's a chunky arrow you're shooting. How many gpp are they? Does it affect its flight? Sorry to bombard you with tons of questions. I admire your Manchu archery journey. Cheers!!
Hi, and no worries - I guess bombarding is okay as long as you’re bombarding with the right thing :) Now as per your questions: 1. The rayskin is as it came in, although I’d prefer some lighter, greenish (almost leafy) colour. 2. Yes absolutely, but I’d say it’s a project for the later this year :) 3+4. I didn’t weight it, but I’d say its around 17-18 gpp mark - it does affect the flight (such as greater drop offs), but its nothing that you can’t cope with. I am sorry because it is likely that my responses are not precise enough to answer your questions, but I tried my best. In all cases, thank you for always coming back to my little channel! It is incredibly encouraging to know that there are people who do find my channel enjoyable 🙏🏻 I hope you have a great day, and see you on the next one!💪🏻🫡
@solhoibaturu Thanks a lot for answering all my questions. I find your Manchu Archery's journey is very inspiring. Tbh, I started to modify my Manchu bow, here and there, but still far from your skill. Appreciate you, and have a wonderful weekend with your family.
Thanks for review! Is there any updates on version 3? I hope higher poundage will be available like 90# @ 34" draw.
Hi, and thank you for your comment! Unfortunately I have not had the chance to get my hands on the newer model - but as far as I am concerned, the draw weight is still restricted to around 60#@34” :( I know that Liangzhi does offer a heavier option, I would love to see Laojia launching some heavier option in the future because his bow feels SO much better. Again, thank you for your comment and I hope you have a wonderful day!
I just hold the arrows by the nock and string them. Much more efficient.
It is, and what I do is incredibly inefficient
What a beautiful bow,and what a great effort you have made to decorate it.
@@benpriestman4015 Hi and thank you fo your comment! It’s nothing professional, but I do try my best🙏🏻
🐅
It’s my red kitty😂
The jade one is beautiful. Do you have to be more careful with your draw and release as the string slip easier with the jade being smoother than bone?
Hi! Thank you for your comment :) Yes, but actually it is too slippery that even being careful does not make it any more usable😂 But it does look beautiful for sure!
😂
I should make a compilation of unsatisfactory shots😂

What is that "green" thing that is hanging next to the quiver? I saw some people wearing that already. Does it have its own purpose or function? Seriously curious.. 😮😊
Hey! Thank you for coming back to my channel🫡 That green thing is a tassel that doesn’t only look fabulous, but is also used to clean your arrow when you inadvertently shot the ground and has soil and mud all over your arrow!
@solhoibaturu I see. Yeah, I saw it mostly with outdoor shooting. Make sense. Thanks!
Really nice piece, I got sold on the efficiency of Manchu style while back. This is an interesting looking option especially if I consider going up in weight a little, I like the idea of near indestructibility. Been using the Alibow Yarha @80# and think I have developed some issues within the handle.
Hi, and thank you for your input! I do think Liangzhi is a viable option when you’re looking to enter the so called ‘warbow’ range. I did hear about cases in which the did fail, but the manufacturer does honour the guarantee and will provide a new bow since if it broke its probably due to failure during the production.
@@solhoibaturu Thanks for the reply. I do know that heavy bows really are totally unnecessary apart from the challenge, and a heavy fibreglass Manchu bow would need monstrous arrows since I'm currently happy with 1500grain at ~20GPP for the 80# Yarha. 50-60 is easily enough for target's. I do wonder what historical bow weights where actually common as there seems very little consensus on that. Regardless it's still to see a different option and aesthetically your bow looks a nicer piece than the Yarha but that's obviously reflected in the price point. Wonder if those very long ears can be felt in the draw curve.
Musei manchu!
Musei Manju!!
Beautiful bow and makes total sense being FG and a one piece built bow. I have recently become nothing short of obsessed with manchurian style bows and have recently been develpoing my own shorter version at 50 inches. My aim is to have a bow that will shoot heavy manchu style arrows well but also to be able to handle the lower GPP like a Korean style bow........ Happy to say im near end of development stage and have a very fast and fun bow to shoot.
Hi! Thank you for your input, and I must say that I am thrilled to meet a fellow manchu-enthusiast! Please do share the results for us to see once completed🙏🏻 I hope you a very nice day ahead!
Beautiful bow! Do you by any chance know where I can buy it in the EU?
Hi! Thank you for your comment☺️ I don’t believe there is a seller in EU, but you can always order one from China directly! If you’d like further details, please contact me through DM in my IG account (@solho_i_baturu)👌🏻 Hope you have a great day!
