Reason For The Season- Merry Christmas from Cultured Cowboy!
What’s the name of the front pinch Stetson at the end?
Looks like he missed a few meetings.
It's a shame 90% of cowboy hats will never see a cow
Same can be said with baseball hats, tennis shoes, basketball shoes, combat boots, lifted trucks, all the apps on your phone you don’t use etc. there’s a lot of things people get and don’t use its full potential. Not sure what you’re trying to say my guy.
@AverageFloridaDad hello sir.im 68 and have cowboyed most of my life.i guess I'm just jealous to see expensive well made hats that stay in town.i could never afford one like those when I was cowboyin.
Thanks.
Where's the gambler's hat? Where's the Django hat?
The open crown is called the Cap’n Call?
I personally can ruin a straw hat in short order everytime. So no straw hat purchased in decades. Funny story! I walked into a local feed/ appearal store with one of my older work hats. So I asked the attendant if he could add a little stiffener to it. The answer I received was sure I can if you clean it first 😮. Looked him in the eyes, with the following statement. There's people paying hundreds of dollars to paint fake age for what this ol hat earned the last 20 plus years. To clean such a hat where I come is sacrilegious. N left! Mountain man
Huh interesting I found this video. Me personally I've been wearing open crown hats since the 80's starting my buckskinning growth if you will . Very early days of my youth was what I call the Marty Robbins gun fighter hat. Later I must admit I fell into the goat roper hat( AKA the urban cowboy fade🙄) so not knowing if you are in business or not, lately I been interested in Stetson line of buffalo felt hats. All I have found is already shaped offerings. Now we both know I can aquire one and steam n reshape back to open, but prefer to start out from square one open crown. I do some of my own minor shaping of the brim. But after that I prefer the hat to develop its own personality. I did a video myself on how to measure the sand of a real cowboy. Must admit that I messed up the best part through editing. In which I used what I call the Campbell soup effect. If hand in question is dark faced, but when he takes his hat off, n from the bridge of his nose up is pasties white well he or she has earned there sand. An old hand out of Wyoming Mountain man
Create contact with real cowboy hats don't have a wire in them . PS thanks for the first video very informative
Teton creases
You missed the milkers crease
What’s the difference between the outback and the gentleman’s cowboy hat?
The pinched front is my preferred style (@7:11 in the video, aka Gentleman's hat). I bought a pinched front, beaver felt Stetson in 1989. I think they called it a "Ranger" style, but not 100% sure. It's my favorite hat and the one I wear 99% of the time. Stetson doesn't make it anymore, which makes no sense to me.
My favorite is the Gus/front pinch hat, which is a nice-looking hat that is different from the others. I have a mink/buffalo that I wear all the time. I will be buying the Gentleman's hat with the front Gus pinch, which is a classy hat and does not look so big on my head.
Which style do the Texas Rangers wear ?
Really good video!!! Thank you !!!
They deserved that name can’t believe y’all sell those.
I’m from SC too and after going to Texas I saw the open crown hats and really liked them, and the brick crown. I got back home and none of my friends had the same appreciation for them. The last hat I bought, I steamed it and put a brick crown in it, but I cut it down to 2 7/8” in the front and the rest of the hat is 3 1/4” with no roll on the brim. Now the folks in SC like that look when they see it. Thanks for the video. Well done.
Last time i paid to have my hat shaped, i paid for a 17yo kid to smash it into a machine and screw it up. It was shaped previously at a ranch outside san antonio by a god ole boy who knew what he was doing. I screwed it up on a cattle drive event with the seminoles.
Not a fan of the hotdog bun hats. Dont like the vagina creases either. Prefer a rounded crease.
Where is your store located?
What was the name of the Crown crease on the third hat you never mentioned it?
I'm not a cowboy nor do I work on a ranch, I'm living in Spain, but I really love how these hats look on, so… Can I use a cowboy hat during the summer? I Do a lot of camping 🏕️ with my wife and I'm getting bald already 😂 so I use a lot of baseball caps, or I will be considered “ridiculous” ( is not that I care a lot what other people think) but just Asking as a matter of culture I guess...
Looking for a Dus hat, old scool short brim maybe 3 1/5 " brim
Gus
felt
Where are you in SC
Left out the buckaroo. Commin in Nevada and Idaho . Strong Basque influence.
The tops of my boots are too wide for my slim calf. Is there a way to snug the tops in so they aren't so gaping open?
At 7:12 you said it was a "gentlemans" cut. I tried one on in a slightly smaller brim. It looked like a Freddy Kruger on me 😅.
I just got the akubra Territory to replace my bronco. I love the design of it. I reckon they could have went just a little deeper on it so it can get down on the head a little more. I am happy with both hats but am more interested in the Territory look because it represents home a little more. I'd love to see an akubra dedicated to Central Queensland weather
They got a deep inside pocket perfect for a flask of 180% ever clear grain alcahol for starting 🔥🔥 cleaning wounds meds a shot to warm u up etc etc it has saved my butt when I couldent get tinder started there wide and long enough to kneel on the ground for starting fire or even sleeping on or under in a emergency
Just recently, and finally, replaced my cowboy hat from my teen years, I'm 33 now. It's been baseball caps since then because I didn't wanna drop the cash for a new cowboy hat and have it stolen again. But I found a good cheap one base of real wool and shaped how I like, what you referred to as the Gentleman's Hat. I call it a Tear Drop Pinch crown. Though I like the sound of Gentleman's Hat much more. Real leather and metal buckle hat band and I recently placed a hawk feather in it the hat band just in front of the buckle on the left side. Put it on after I'd done it and looked at my wife who immediately giggled, blushed, and ran to hide in the bathroom. I'm pretty sure she likes my new hat more than I do. 🤠
Cowboy rag does better than any coof mask.
Saya sangat menginginkan topi itu, bisa kah pengiriman paket ke Indonesia?
What kind of accent is that? You said you were in SC but it sounds like Eastern VA to me
Good video. thanks. Learn something new every day.
Background music caused me to leave 😢
I want to see you shape a wide brim cowboy hat into a panama hat shape ... Thank you sir .
I have an akobra, their crowns are too low. I tried to reshape it to make the crown higher, but there just wasn't enough to work with. They look spastic. I won't recommend akubra.
Thanks for getting dressed today 😅
I appreciate the way this dude actually expands on the little nuances of boot fit. I ordered two pair of the same boot online, 1/2 size difference, and BOTH pairs are snug across instep, and slip a little in the heel.... There's a LOT of arbitrary measurement lingo with boot fit such as "snug, a little, firm, not too too loose not too tight, etc. Although there's some of that here, it is so obvious that this man knows what hes talking about, and isn't just copying what a web page said. Coupling that with the cutaway demonstrations makes this the most useful video I've found on the subject so far.
The cattle man's crease and the Montana crease are designed to allow.the hat to be removed from the head by grasping it at the top with the first three fingers of the hand. This allows the hat to be removed without pulling on the brim, which eventually makes the brim bend upward and lose.its stiffness where it meets the crown. This is true of.most mens hats except the bowler, which does not have a crown crease.
I’ve emailed this guy numerous times to buy boots over the years. And he chose to not reply. So I have no faith in this ridiculous store. Don’t waste your time or your money. He doesn’t care about the customer. It’s just a half-a** operation.
This place is a joke. Waste of time. Tried to email order boots and they don’t reply. Tried for over a year. Spend your money on a professional store that is committed to their customers.
What defines the Canadian crease from the brick and bull rider creases?
Thank you, sir. I could listen to you all day. Love all your knowledge and passion for the hat.
What kind of roper are you wearing there
I didn't know you could use extra virgin olive oil, thanks for the tip, great tip ❤
Thanks partner
This video gives a better explanation of how a boot should fit then any of the big names have put together. Thank you for this
Nice looking hat he has on. Good content. Thanks for the info.
