- Even with two plays from the one-yard line, the NY Giants offense fails to find the end zone for the 13th consecutive quarter and the fourth time in six games. Mike Francesa gives his instant reaction to the Giants' offensive woes in a game they could have won against Buffalo.
i heard somewhere that the cleveland stadium is built near a lake in a position that causes winds in nov and dec to maybe set o/u 's in the lower 30's -old school gridiron conditions

Just wondering about MetLife Stadium (I know tonight's game was in Buffalo). Giants record at home since MetLife; 50-58-1. Jets record at home at MetLife 50-59. I remember Mike commenting back in the day the stadium wasn't working out. FieldTurf? PSL's? Location? Seems to me the injuries, wind blown INT's, and the lack of blue-collar fans at Met-Life have hurt both teams. Not making excuses since someone's got win - but maybe grass and getting rid of PSL's might be a start.
Tear that pos stadium down or move to one of the burrows. Give it to the jets.

Two stupid calls cost them the game. Calling a play that lest the clock run out at half cost them 3 points which cost them the game. Then at the 1 yard line, last play of the game, they call a passing play. Give the ball to Barkley which is your best option to score.
I feel like Tyrod Taylor looked more dynamic than DJ, the Giants offense had a little life to it even though they didn't score....bottom line Giants gave this game away.
If they handle the clock right at the half and kick a field goal, all they need is a field goal to win at the end of the second half…which they clearly got In range for. Really big mistake. And, 0.0 TD’s in 3+ games…pathetic. This team stinks…

At least they were competitive. It’s been so bad that being competitive is a positive direction. It sucked that they lost. But at least I felt tension. They had a chance, they fought. The games have been unwatchable aside from today. Hopefully this continues. Get a win next week

Hey Mike. It must be a record to have the ball first and goal at the 1 yard line 2 different times in the game and come away with no touchdowns. The most disheartening thing about it is that they should’ve stolen this game, and they may have pulled to 3-4 next week against Washington. Then they go into a battle of New York in which we know anything can happen. 4-4 was actually quite plausible.
But now at 1 and 5, it is real up hill battle. Now with 11 games left they would have to 10 and 1 to make the playoffs. Do not see that happening. I wonder if they now regret paying Jones 40 million a year while he is being benched.

While the Giants were far more competitive and played some inspiring football (especially on defense), a loss is still a loss. The Giants offense continues to be anemic where they can't score any touchdowns. The offense did move the ball but there were a lot of missed opportunities. Of course, the one that stands out is the end of the half debacle. With just 14 seconds left in the half and no timeouts, you cannot run the ball, period. Some people have said there was a run/pass option. What? There can be no thought of a run in that situation. It must be a pass. You try to run the ball and get stuffed you'll never have time to get another play off and the half will end. You have to come away with at least a field goal.They failed basic situational football 101 and it really came back to haunt them later because they really could've used those 3 extra points in the end (they would've only needed a field goal on the last drive instead of a touchdown).

Tyron better than Jones. The team with the most sacks only gets 3 with another make shift O-line with another man going down in the first quarter. It’s obvious at this point and confirms what most of us already knew. Jones takes more sacks than necessary, can’t complete the ball to receivers even when the pocket is clean, and Kafka and Daboll are incompetent when it comes to running an offense.
We know that the coaching staff is good and on paper they upgraded the roster over last year's team that made and won a playoff game so what happened. Its not the losses that scratch your head its the way they've lost that's what has me wondering. MY TAKE- Daniel Jones is not a good pro QB and if we know that then the giant players know 10x more about his abilities as a pro. They sign him to a $160 million contract while playing the cat and mouse game with Barkley who is top five RB then tag SB. Let Love and Gates walk who were popular hard working and average pro's. Now you have have rumblings and bitter players who are not on the same page with the coaching staff or the front office. Tom Coughlin would say you must care and love one another to be a great team but when a below average QB gets treated like face of the franchise and Barkley gets treated like the red headed step child this is the result.
I dunno if this is as meaningless as you make it seem Mike. I feel like they haven’t shown up this year other than half of ARZ. So this was huge to me to see them have adversity vs a great squad and look like they were somehow better?

Some very poor play calling decisions by the OC in both the Jets and Giants games, putrid play calling. Daniel Jones' biggest asset is his ability to run, not throw, and the ironic thing is he is not particularly elusive within the pocket, does not move well within the pocket, possesses exceedingly poor pocket presence, and does not extend plays when rushed as do other mobile and athletic QB's around the league.
Jets have the worst starting QB in football they can't do the same things they would with Rodgers they have to make sure they can get some kind of points and not have Wilson throw games away

I think the NFL is not run on pride like it was when we were growing up. These players and coaches don't have pride.
That's part of it, the other part is that the first month or so of the regular season is now basically an extension of the pre-season. Teams are still trying to figure things out, guys getting hurt left and right, it's just sloppy football all around.

In my decades of being a hardcore Giants fan, I have never seen anything quite like that as far as commanding the team. There is no question that Taylor should get the starting job and Jones, the turnover machine, should not even be on the roster. If I was head coach of NYG Jones would be gone, period, regardless of how much money lost from his foolish contract that he did not deserve. Every game this year with Jones they did not even compete, at least with Taylor the game was close and exciting, and they might have won if the bullshit refs would do thier jobs and throw the flag on a blatant P.I. in the endzone. NY should have had 1st and goal at the 1,and jumped into the endzone with Quan. Give Taylor the start, if you play Danny turnover expect another blowout stinker, and the 1-6, scrub GIANTS. The qb is the heart of a football team, and if your leader is a turnover magnet like Jones, and a chronic loser, expect to be at the bottom for a long long time.
Giants offense looks better with Tyrod. He's obviously not the long-term answer, but the offense moves the ball better with Tyrod. Tyrod understands the qb position better.
