This is hands down the best “muscular” hero body McFarlane has produced…. Slight nitpick are the huge extended hands…..
If you have othe other mcfarlane Multiverse clasic superman you can just swap the hands out and it works perfectly.
Reminds me of Earth One Superman due to the colors and youthful appearance but with the Adam Kubert inspired belt. Looks like a great figure!
It looks like the same suit Brandon Routh wore in Superman Returns. The belt is identical.

I'm kinda surprised that you noticed the hands are too big on the new Supes But you didn't notice the legs are too short on that older Supes!!🤯

I was really on the fence about this one at first, definitely leaning more towards getting it after this review now, especially seeing him side by side with the Action Comics 1000 in a more stoic hero pose at the end, really like the newer articulation on this Superman

If you have the new Dark knight scarecrow the alternate hands fit this Supes and look pretty good. They may be slightly off as far as color, but look much better than the oversized ones.

I'm going to ask this early, before the review. Other than the line's name and the fact that it comes packaged with a comic, is there any difference between a Page Puncher and a DC Multiverse figure? I'm really a bit confused on this new line.
No difference besides the comic
How I see these are baf waves with no baf pieces but comics instead. They’re pretty much multiverse figures. However the detail I think is much nicer.

It would be nice to get comics about will be different but part of the same storyline
@@Christian_Ada1 right i thought it would have been a 1-4 part series each figure had a different number part of the comic. Woulda raise the value of the comic & figure if you ask me.
Yeah I’m 100% considering these multiverse. They have nothing to do with DC direct figures other than the packaging
I hope we get this same figure but with a less muted colour pallette.
I had a weird thought, I feel like he might be a good Arkham universe Superman (asylum and city era). Something about the retro look, but with the desaturated colors and exaggerated costume details reminds me of a lot of the Arkham designs.

I didn’t like the promotional photo of this figure BUT because of your review I will get him. I love the house of El symbol on his chest 💕👍🏼💕. I agree with you that lately the hands of some figures are too big for them.

My god this figure has blown me away. Didn't get the chance to snag the Action Comics #1000 Supes, so I think this guy will be my de facto Superman on the shelf
I wish they give us a comic accurate Wonder Woman figure but knowing Tom McFarlane I don't see us getting one which is why I don't really put money into buying his collection

This look ridiculously good.
The figure is not retro at all...its made in the style of artist lee bromejo...his style is hyper realistic and detailed
And Lee bermejo’s design is based on multiple sources, the subdued color palette and smaller shield is an obvious reference to Superman’s look in the 40s and 50s, and there are some details pulled from the Brandon Routh costume, which itself was meant to echo the look of the Donner movies (which were going for a retro look even when they first came out in the 70s).
Idk man something about this design doesn't do it for me personally... I think the muted color palette takes the personality out of a character like supernan. However, this is a damn good looking figure. If I had the shelf space i can definitely justify the pickup, but at this rate I need to be choosy with what i bring home. 🤣
I prefer the comic 100 but I can't find am anymore at a decent price.

Im really thinking about buying this whole wave because they all look amazing! I really like this superman alot he looks great in reviews and I bet he looks even better in hand.
I like this figure, but his hands are bigger than his head. This whole wave all has big hands except batman, but still a good new line
The problem with the promo pictures or the prototype of this figure was his eyes. His eyes in those pictures looks very Asian but it seems they fixed before releasing to the public.

The skin tone ball joints ALWAYS make the fig look uglier. Every single time. I prefer they keep the ball joint the same color as the forearm
