      "Crimes"
See thats where you're wrong. When you or I claim bogus overtime from a private company, its a crime.
When a cop does the same thing from the hard working people he's supposed to protect, he just gets let go. No crime committed.

    • @lo2990
      @lo2990 2 роки тому

@@TheOrangeRoad It’s not a crime to claim bonus overtime as a civilian. Chances are you’ll probably be fired maybe they’ll sue other than that you’ll be fine just jobless. As for cops working they work very hard doing a very dangerous job. They already aren’t paid a lot for most positions

@@lo2990 Dealing in absolutes gets us nowhere. There are excellent police officers and departments across the country. APD is far from excellent, by any measure. They get paid way too much for the service they provide NM. Time for new leadership and a serious department overhaul. To your point, SOME work hard... SOME work harder than the wage they earn. Many, too many, do not. What should be done?

DISBAND THEM. My uncle was a Sergeant for the San Diego PD, and he was indicted and convicted of Embezzlement and Abuse of Power - for which he spent a decade in a federal prison...and VERY rightly so!!
They have MORE than proven their refusal to correct this defrauding of the local taxpayers. They should be held to a higher standard than citizens as they are the ones who are charged with enforcing the law - yet they are continually held above the law. Is it not enough that the taxpayers have to pay the settlements when the police department is sued for brutality and any other number of crimes?! What is wrong with this city that they just don't get it?? Oh wait, I know... they do get it, they just don't care. Citizens, VOTE OUT all of the city executives and disband that department. It cannot be reformed -- it must be remade. HOW are there not uproarious protests?? Are the citizens of Albuquerque THAT apathetic???

All the senior officers seem to know all the loopholes.
I'm furious this is going on...since when?
Base on Larry Barker's report....they all know they violated everything in the book.
The very policy they suppose to uphold....

"Oh, we are so busy that we don't have time to look into the details." But they sign the work papers anyway. So basically they are saying that their job is to do nothing but place a signature on a piece of paper, while at the same time the signature serves no true purpose.

People at the top should know what’s going on at all levels. Someone at all levels knew what was going on, they were complicit. When those at the top are derelict in their duties, can you expect the rest of the department to do differently? Well yes, we we expect more from each badge toting member. Kind of like james comey over at that once respected agency, the fbi, rotten to the core, as is much of the rest of the agency. Lying cheating and stealing should not be tolerated in law enforcement. Lying to the judges, lying to the Senate. Cheating the populace of justice, and stealing from the tax payers. Look at the useless Mueler report, the treatment of General Flynn, and so much more.

The attitude of City of Albuquerque associates which includes APD and AFD believe the City of Albuquerque works for them and not the other way around! In fact this former APD officer committed fraud and should be charged felony embezzlement of City of Albuquerque general fund! Being stupid is not a defense for being an embezzler!

Only fired & not having his certification revoked or being charged with appropriate felonies for the theft of $133,000 just demonstrates that anyone that works for APD is more than welcome to steal over $130,000 &, at most, they'll let you go

I support our Police Officers. There’s always a going to be stuff like this no matter where you live. But this city is out of control. We are tired of this amount of crime. No one ever reports the crimes anymore. We know that nothing will be investigated. I pay too much in taxes to live like this in Albuquerque.

Time to hire outside neutral entity to verify overtime of post???
I worked for the city n the past. My OOD is the person who verified and signed off on our OT sheets on that same shift before the shift was over.
This should b mandatory for APD to pay their OODs to verify each officer ordered back for duty as needed / verify posts.
There's no way them forms are designed to b complicated . I b driving 2am and see no police anywhere at night.
Make the officer pay the money back and use that money to light up crime ridden areas... dark places, crime lurks

"Those who cannot be trusted in small matters can not be trusted in big matters."
There should be severe consequences and they should not be allowed to represent the citizens of their community as they are corrupt and absent of integrity.
The idea being represented that some sort of a "wake up call" is in order completely misrepresents the deliberate behavior that is occurring. A wake up call may be an accurate representation when people are not necessarily aware of the mistakes they are making and someone needs to bring it more clearly to their attention. These people are doing this completely intentionally and knowingly.
