So far, in 2024 we have had about 6 days of sunny weather so what happens on the other 358 days?? We dont have much wind, we have breezes. Millions of birds are going to fall victim to these monstrosities.

Let's try a hypothetical scenario: I an Energy company are told- £600 per household each year reduced through Solar and wind farming, mmmm, NO=Sudden increase In bill costs!
Unless you Eliminate all Private companies fully ( NOT GONNA HAPPEN ) for a Publicly owned Farms or Self Energy Generating households then there's No way you'll get the prices down!
Also to point out, the Countryside will come together and demand Reparations for wrecking the wilderness and Environment not to mention the cost of setting up all these 'Energy systems', maintenance, repairs, disposals etc etc, 🤔😒😖🤪

The problem is renewables, apart from being start-stop, are very low density energy. They take up between 300 and 500 the amount of space to produce the same power as a gas plant. So, if you want this "clean" energy (forgetting the awful recycling problems down the line) then be prepared to lose LOTS of farm land and beautiful countryside. Battery storage is not the answer either - again = acres of land covered in shipping container sized batteries for a couple of hours of back up power - paid for twice: once to store it, then to supply it.
They are asking for Investors for Energy UK , you can more or less predict the Money will come from abroad and all the Money will go abroad as well as the Energy we Generate. The Uk Citizens have been ignored as usual in favour of others.
Its going to make a lot of money for big business and elites while the rest of us pay for it.

The UK ranked 17th with just 1.1% of global emissions. China produced 28% and was responsible for almost two-thirds of the growth in emissions since 2000. We could bring it to 0% at the cost of billions to the UK tax payer and not make a noticeable difference.

A couple of years back when high pressure sat over the UK for the entire month of January wind generation would not keep a single light bulb lit. Nothing. Welcome to the dark ages. Hope you don't have a heat pump when that happens again.
If the cost of developing wind power is relatively little, and it would give a huge payback in future ROI, then why does the government need to become involved, as surely the private sector would be falling over themselves to invest ?

1 nuclear power station that uses just 50 acres of land is the equivalent of over 6300 wind farms over the lifetime of the power plant. How many acres of land do you need for 6300 windfarms?

There should certainly be less reliance on Russia, whoever originally put our energy security in the hands of another country was definitely not doing it for the good of the country.
Andy is talking about renewables currently contributing to our ELECTRICITY demand, not our overall energy demand.
Electricity is only about 20% of our energy and renewabkes are not wvwn 50% of that.

The chap is living on a different planet if he thinks this will make money for the UK. The only way it could possibly make money is by laying HVDC cables between Europe and the UK and on to the USA. If the UK needs to invest go down the HVDC cables route and start exporting this wind power

Andy Wiliams should have stuck to singing. He knows nothing energy consumption, electricity is only 20% of the total so renewables is 20% of 20% so 4% of the total. Why are people like that allowed out on their own?

It’s crazy that all these things that will be so effective and save so much money can only be done with investment. It’s also crazy that oil companies don’t diversify in to them if they will be so effective at creating and supplying energy. Opening new oil sites costs billions but they do it so why don’t they go full bore into renewables? It’s almost like they know something

Renewables cost a lot because you need back up and the array of power sources needs a lot more infrastructure.
Apparently these wind turbines are not eco frieendly to build or dispose of.
And need diesel generators as the steel blades are too heavy for the wind to start them turning 😂
Neither are solar panels, and they are taking up huge amounts of farmland, their next location after that is under the land....

Ecotricity by far the biggest green energy producer. Did you know they only produce 12% of their own electricity😂. The rest they buy off the wholesale market so not exactly green. Also turnover was £550m yet only made a profit of £9.7m that’s a % profit of 1.76 absolutely horrendous. So GB Energy, an investment company is going to invest in green energy. So an investor will expect a return so who in their right mind would want to invest in green energy with such miserable returns. Also the government will guarantee a return so who pays the interest when the profits are so small. Yep us the taxpayers. We are being told a big lie. GB Energy is nothing but a scam, the money the govt invest will be lost and we will all be on the line to repay it back. It’s a seriously bad idea.
