In my experience, bending the knees slightly in Alt mode usually allows for the hands to line up with the posts. Though they are quite snug once they're in. Still a great figure. I think they may have used a yellowed grey plastic from the outset. Like it was done that way during the molding process. Though that's just my own take on why the grey plastic has that yellow hue to it.
Would like to see if Emgo would do skit with this version of Optimus Prime sitting next with Megatron instead of Shockwave like the usual skits with Megatron and Shockwave
Dang the alt mode looks really rough, I feel like they could’ve come up with a better solution to make the truck hold together. The robot mode looks great aside from the yellow plastic.
Love the figure. I was searching for a cybertronian mode Optimus with stylezed aesthetic of roughly 6" height for my collection (yeah, I have a rather specific set of conditions), and this one seems to be it! Even like the yellowish plastic, this is a new colour and looking past yellowING plastic association it is quite nice. The only thing that bothers me are the visible hands in robot mode. The cab transforms so beautifully and then the forearms and hands are just... there. I wonder if they coul have them fold into the cab seeing how there is some space undeneath
I feel like emgo is the only UA-camr to make a negative sound not so bad, like the weird waist doesn’t sound too bad. But if someone like primevsprime did he would make it sound like the worst thing ever
Exactly. Like, I don't like Dr. Lockdown at all. He tends to be WAAAAAY too harsh on figures that aren't deserving of it and hyperfixates on things that don't really matter. And no matter what that man says, I will DIE on the hill that Legacy Arcee is a good figure in her own right and is NOT that bad. One of the reasons I love Emgo is because, unlike Dr. Lockdown, he's chill even when gives a negative point. He doesn't act like a backpack is the worst thing ever lol.
It feels.rrdundant to make this Deluxe and a Warrior Class. Unless we get a repaint of one in zany colors like they did for 07, RotF, & DotM. I love those for some reason.
I was able to see the movie early and O absolutely loved it. So did the rest of the theater. Probably my favorite TF movie if all time. I just picked this up today simply because the movie is THAT good and I wanted to represent it on my shelf ASAP. Gonna repaint his yellow parts though. They did not appear that color in the movie.. at least to me? Maybe I’m alone there but Pax to Prime I noticed no yellow.
I feel like this is a case of waiting for the Third Party developers working on a better Transformers One version of Optimus Prime. Or even have an upgrade kit for it to work on some issues with the figure
They finally fixed the axe with this guy! All of the recent prime axes are sideways, and they finally turned the axe head so it's facing forward when he holds it.
My copy of the figure doesn't have the weird arm yellow, everything is paint and plastic match correctly so I'm assuming this was just QC for ealy batches. Note: everything is in that brownish grey
I am late to this lol but I just found this Optimus Prime at Walmart and when transforming him it was a little difficult to clip his hands in the port but it is possible and it's really secure, trying to unpeg his hands to transform back into robot mode I accidentally ripped his arms off the joint 😂 so I'll just lightly plug his hands in

My goodness! This Optimus Prime figure is absolutely amazing!! Oh, and It also has a rotational joint on the shoulder smokestacky part just like from the movie trailer, too!
I'm going to be using this figure as rebuilt Orion Pax from the G1 episode "War Dawn". I wonder how it would look with the Amazon Data Clerk Orion Pax head?

Looks nice. After the new G1 Deluxe Optimus got revealed this guy now is second priority to me, but he still makes for a worthy purchase purely for how really, really well the robot mode works. Some certain youtube channels will complain about "Hot Rod Shoulders", which will annoy everyone with three braincells or more to no end. Alt mode is dissapointing, but tbh i dont think its THAT bad. I've seen worse tolerances on much, much more expensive products.
Am I the only one who hopes the transformation is screen accurate? I think it would be funny to see his head spin around and pop down like that to start the transformation
Only thing I’m surprised about and I’m kinda sad about… is that there’s no Ion blaster THEN AGAIN this is like… the beginning of everything so obviously there isn’t going to be a blaster yet I think DNA will probably do one though.. or we can just take another Ion Blaster and give it to that prime 🤔
The "yellowed" grey plastic makes it look 'retro'. 🙂 Like as if the toy was already 20+ years old. Maybe some people will consider it a positive and relish it. 🙂
Oh it's definitely not supposed to be that colour. That's more yellowing out of the box. I've seen another one that isn't so yellow. I guess that Hasbro are still having production problems.
I won't forget that when they unveiled this on a livestream they had a painted silver version that looked so much better even Mark Maher (Hasbro designer) made a confused comment about it... The whole "screen accurate" argument doesn't make any sense, especially considering his head is silver!
Good review as always but as far as cybertronian primes are concerned I think I'll stick with my Cybertron siege Optimus Prime truck hat and all as the alternate mode holds the other reasonably well and I feel like it does enough for laughs Here's hoping Transformers 1 is actually good and if the movie is I will buy one of these as a souvenir so to speak otherwise I just don't feel like there's enough to justify picking this guy up Also another little problem I have with this figure is that the extra alternate mode cannons seem unnecessary where I would have happily have traded those for a handheld iron blaster

I can see a future figure with the gimmick of going from Orion Pax to Optimus prime. Either a quick change or snap on parts

The weird shade of grey to me seems like a faded gold which makes me think of him as being more regal despite what his origin is in the movie
