The editor putting up the timer for Robin’s rant on tipping was hands down the funniest thing I’ve seen in a very long time. Awesome job dude, kudos!
That post about insect farms was a perfect example of a real, true study being cited while the person citing it clearly just read the information and used it to reach the conclusion they wanted instead of thinking about the actual implications

16:35 fun fact: if you are a tipped worker you actually ARE entitled to the state's minimum wage. While your employer can directly pay you less, if your tips and wage don't add up to minimum wage your employer must pay the difference. At least that's how it is in California.

7:00 -ish I think this means that they view their wives as their property. Think of the over-protective super "I'm the man of the house and my daughters are mine so all boys stay away" kind of father, but apply that to their wives. These type of men tend to be more violent and abusive because they use "corporal punishment" on their families (esp the women)
Also, "don't let your wife infantalize you, she is YOUR full grown infant."
"theses types of men tend to be more violent and abusive because they use "corporal punishment" on their families"
i'd ask "source", but i'm gonna go take a guess and say your answer is probably gonna sound like "i made it the fuck up"
7:10?
Twitter accounts like that also post stuff like "marry a young woman, preferably one that doesn't know how to read or math so you could teach her"
So yea they just wanna raise a person
"Men" like this have a huge fear of their manhood being taken into question, so they fight hard to basically be in control of everyone around them. Usually, this is from generational abuse that a man is to be taken seriously to the point of his wife needs to be completely submissive. Kind of like how there are religions that believe that the wife is to submit to the man in all areas of her life - however, in that instance, the man is also supposed to love her, respect her, honor her, and be her partner in all things and ensure that she's taken care of, which includes mentally and physically. These "men" believe in something that is completely outdated and as the cycle continues, whether they have a son or daughter, it will continue to live on through the generations. A daughter would be taught to be submissive to all men and a son will be taught to be the dominant one at all times - relationships, friendships, and in the workplace. It's a sad, sad thing to see happening, yet it does happen quite often.
4:45 what does he mean "doesn't know woke"?
a kid saw gorilla, remembered that gorillas beat their chests, didn't know that gorillas did that to assert dominance, and then did it because she thought it'd be cool. what about that is "woke"? woke doesn't even feel like a real word anymore.
Just one of those words that got suplexed into the feckin ground
15:33 I believe Nikola Tesla and Einstein were actually friends and even if they weren't Einstein definitely wasn't trying to oppose Tesla, they studied two subjects that at the time were very separate so if he was paid off to try and oppose Nikola Tesla he definitely did a very bad job.
The person who opposed Tesla was Edison, the famous inventor (who probably was just some manager stealing his employees' credit...)

17:00 always tip in cash if you can. Tips are taxed when put on a credit/debit card, but in cash, the server gets to keep the money
In fact, if a tipped worker doesn't make enough tips to meet minimum wage, the employer has to pay them the difference until they meet minimum wage, so even if you tip cash, the employer is going to track and record it, and it will be taxed. Unless the worker wants to risk losing their job for concealing tips.
You _might_ find an employer who lets workers not record _all_ their tips if they make a fair bit more than the minimum, and some will of course just not care that much, but yeah, tips are frequently getting taxed even if they're cash.

so many people use the word woke as if its a bad thing. i believe the actual meaning is for it to be used for people (i believe usually black people) to tell each other to stay alert of racism in our society. it means to be aware. so if youre "anti-woke" youre really just anti-awareness of racism, sexism, etc.
That's how it was originally, but that was like 40 years ago and the word has changed so much since then. I think what happened is people started using it too much in a way that started going further from its original meaning, then people used it to make fun of them, and they were able to keep the meaning the same until today. At least that's my theory, since I only know the original meaning, how conspiracy theorists use it and how it's used today.
There's different levels of woke. Some people take it too far. Like the woman who harassed Hugh Mungus many years ago.
The man complaining about dress codes, imagine how women feel when we have dress codes after us everywere. Now you know how that feels.
Exactly. Worldwide bullcrap.
For real though like, whenever i see someone using "woke" to identify themself in their bio i cringe. They rather call themselves "woke" than terms like progressive and open minded and such. The term has never been used in a positive note where i saw it either. Its more often than not the conservative calling people woke like it's an insult, but then you have people who take pride in being called woke. It's such a weird situation
Thank you Editor Kenny for that brilliant censor sound. It's my fav and you deserve all the appreciations for that~!
Gotta love when a restaurant chain asks you to directly pay their employees for them and then deducts that from their actual paycheck.
Tips.
6:50 while it's nice they're making it official, people have been doing that stuff forever. The books are a guide, not an unchangeable law
True. Even if you follow the books, it should be possible for a devil to change alignment somehow. I did some research, "Faces of Evil: The Fiends (2e)" from 1997 discussed something called "the risen" which are devils which went rogue and turned to the forces of good. Just like angels can fall, devils can rise.
at around 4:50 the problem with woke is how it has been co-opted into an insult. The way that it was used before was mostly in black communities and was just basically a way to say pay attention to the world around you. The ones who were woke were the ones to notice a problem and try to fix unlike the ones who just decided to live with it.

16:51 not all states have a minimum-wage exception for tips. In a lot of states, like mine, the employer must pay minimum wage without tips and any tips are on top of that.
in europe if you tip they wont take its weird to tip even 1%
I think the only time I've ever tipped poorly due to "Not being able to afford to tip more" was once when I went out and I was not told that the prices on the menu had been raised and they just didn't print new menus, so when the bill came the $5 tip [which granted was more than 20%] ended up being more like a $2 tip ... I mean that's still better than like some cents but I remember feeling really bad about it. Hell even typing this out I cringed a little bit.
Though [and yes I know people disagree with me, it's fine] the only time I've ever given a bad tip, on purpose, is when someone did a bad job. Though I was raised that if they did an ultra bad job, not to tip at all. [From two parents who both worked the majority of their youths in food service and wait staff]. And no I don't mean the kitchen messed up my order and I punished some poor wait staff, nah nah ... I mean literally did a bad job. Like literally ignored our table most of the time we were, went to talk to another table, literally grabbed food AROUND ours to take to that table and left ours on the window, brought us our food cold [yes it was actually their fault, I literally watched them leave our two plates in the window, untouched. The chefs were not adjusting/adding/removing anything for them to have left them], ignored the person I was out with ENTIRELY [I literally had to order for them because she wouldn't look at him or address him, and I doubt she knew him since he'd never been to that city before and was visiting me, and literally took my drink order and left, and then took my order, didn't see if I wanted more and walked away until I called her back and ordered his meal.]. Also ...he was the one paying, not me ... I did leave her a tip, but I can't tell you how much it was. I had no cash on me since he was taking me to dinner, so I dumped out all the change in my purse, though I know it was under or roughly $5 because I usually make sure to have roughly $5 in change [mostly quarters] so that I always have enough change when I pay in cash. But she was awful. And other than taking our order she didn't really talk to us, which overall is fine but when you go chat up another table most of the time you only have LITERALLY TWO TABLES it does seem like it's intentional. I mean she probably knew the other table but it just felt rude and she didn't seem to want to deal with us at all. - Despite that I still tipped her, but I made it a bad tip [i.e all coins, all loose change] because what the hell. I actually even left a review ... and unsurprisingly, that particular restaurant went out of business [in our area].

Washington state pays servers and other tipped employees the entire state minimum wage of $14.49 an hour ($15.74 on Jan 1st). Seattle has a higher minimum wage requirement ($17.27 now, $18.69 Jan 1st) and does allow a lower wage for tipped employees of small businesses ($15.75 now, $16.50 Jan 1st), if they are making a guaranteed set amount of tips per hour ($1.52 now and $2.19 next year). But the difference in wages is only the very small hourly tip requirement. So, servers still usually make more than non tipped Seattle minimum wage workers in the long run.

Regarding the "bed" one, it depends what we're talking about. Is it the bed itself, or the entire thing, including the matress? Because those things are vile and full of sweat. And other fluids. Regardless of past relationships. Also, having back problems I know for a fact sleeping in somebody else's place will wreck you.
