Super stoked on your videos and Jefferson Electric’s code of ethics.
I’ve been an electrician for 27 years and by the grace of God never been involved in an arc flash, In that time I have realized luck runs out. Before I throw a switch at the very least I install the dead front. Maybe, with the following you have, personal safety, especially arc flash safety should be considered. Love your work, love the videos, Thank you.
Jefferson electric is very thorough and professional and I appreciate code compliant work. I have watch this company grow over tears this how you do it. Hard work and high expectations of both self and employee great stuff
This is a great format for those who want learn for al levels of experience
Another great vidio. Talking about the 1,000 pages in the NEC was told back in the 1970' s there was over a quarter million words in the NEC. Would not doubt that its closer to halve a million words in latest NEC. Best thing in Industrial sites when powering back up a 4,160 or 13,200 volt that feeds mist motors thru a VFD the inrush current is greatly reduced. Had 60 to 150 HP air handlers that had a ten minute ramp up time so never to trip out a freeze stat. Best policy is when readentifying a white conductor is to mark it every foot. Saw too many guys only place a wrap & a halve of cheap color tape right off breaker to have tape fall off.
good luck troubleshooting all of this!!!
Question how can I become a certified powerwall installer for Tesla?
Currently have my own company doing residential service
Awesome videos first off.
Camden shouldn't be standing on the second to top step of the ladder in the beginning.
Why did they not use Noalox on the aluminum wires?
Can you please change the aperture on your camera so his face or the panel isn't always out of focus?
I’ve installed about 80 of these batteries! Only had 2 faulty batteries so far! One leaking coolant, another one damaged! Keep in mind that your ATS “ Tesla gateway” can go bad so you want to keep installation user friendly just in case you have to replace it!
You don’t need to remove the enclosure when replacing a bad gateway. Just replace the “guts”.
Replace the “guts”? When a gateway goes bad it’s usually the motherboard which can’t get replaced. It usually gets covered through warranty and they send you a new one.
You can remove the internal parts aka guts (controller, termination lugs, contactor) in one or two pieces, leaving the enclosure alone. Try it next time you have to do one, it’s so much better than removing the entire enclosure.
I spend all day every weekday showing up to get dressed down by inspectors about my company's installations of that SolarEdge equipment, it was really nice seeing the values written correctly in the label on the DC switch enclosure cover for once (edit: actually no)... though surely you added the other mandatory labels to the panel and the inverter, and surely that raceway is bonded to the EGC on the other end. ;+ )
Edit: actually looks like you got one wrong. The short circuit current cell on that label is for the *module* short circuit current, not the charge controller/OCPD/equivalent fuse current.
Nice rotary disconnect on the solar edge.
The issue with the SPAN is that is app based only so if the company goes away or decides to stop supporting your model away all the functionality is lost.
Can I come work for you? I have 2 years experience, a loaded out veto pro tech pac, all my own power tools (impact, drill, reciprocating multitool, sawzall, fox n hound, laser level), a ladder, an empty work truck not work truck, an I&E degree, and I am fit.
I worked in Chicago for years.
you can put dc straight into ac but everything must be perfect or stuff blows up.
Great video. My only feedback is the first thing that had to go on mine system was the Zigbee. Piece of shit.
Too complicated; easy to break.
Man I love tesla not a fan of elon but tesla is good tech.
This guy needs to shave and stop editorializing and just let the audience watch the work being done.
I've learned so much from you over the years! FYI, as a network person it's against TIA specs to use zip-ties on CAT5/CAT6 cables. Always use velcro when securing them.
Thanks for making us better!
