    One of the things I really liked about early Chapo is introducing all these big media guys like David French that politicians and businessmen genuinely listen to as "important voices" and just going through their articles, their personal history, and revealing what absolute spineless, self-important idiots these guys are. It really helped knock the idea out of my head that smart people were in charge or that they were all these Machiavellian power players. The ruling class is instead dominated by fuckups and dumbasses. They can be defeated, another world is possible.

      It should instill the understanding that the system itself grants and solidifies power, not merit or intelligence. The ability to flow in it like fluid controls advancement. The more dignity and moral inertia you have, the less you can rise.

      I liked the first couple episodes where they threatened to kill these same types of people. But they put an end to that quickly. There's an alternate history where chapo is a pirate podcast, hard to find, but worth finding.

      Not in America, you're the biggest rube on this website if you think this can be resolved in any meaningful way. Enjoy getting to see an empire of this size collapse, it's rare. But you cannot have any impact.

    So French was mad because the monster guys like him helped create attacked him.
    By contrast, Ben Shapiro took the "if you can't beat ''em, join 'em" option.

      This is the thing; the phrase "African-american" itself is pretty racist... they're American. Why do you need to separate them? It's fucking weird.

  • @KilgoreTroutAsf
    @KilgoreTroutAsf 2 роки тому +8

    Ok, im not american and i dont want to be that person who raiaes a petty semantic point, but doesnt "african american" refer specifically to the descendants of african slaves that suffered centuries of slavery and later oppression and discrimination in all forms imaginable?
    In what sense is an african kid adopten by a white upper middle class "aftican american"?
    And how was Obama "african american" for that matter? Son of a wealthty couple, born OCUS?

      In the US, [nation]-American to refers to anyone descended from that nation who is an American citizen, whether an immigrant or a descendant of an immigrant. Italian-American, Chinese-American, and so on. Same for African-American except it doesn't specify the nation because most people from Africa in this country were indeed descended from slaves. The word is often applied incorrectly to include black people not from Africa and sometimes you'll catch people using to refer in Africa. For most Americans It's just politically correct for "black". And in my experience you only see it on job application forms and things of that nature. Pretty much everyone just says black.

    • @willshogren2232
      @willshogren2232 2 роки тому +1

      Yeah, we say black. African American is like the woke nomenclature boomers and older Gen Xers came up with.

    • @neonsamurai4604
      @neonsamurai4604 2 роки тому +4

      Yes it does but black is just used more commonly and don’t listen to people saying African American is woke and no one used it. It’s no different from Chinese or Mexican American. African immigrants are called by their nation first then American like Nigerian and Ethiopian American. African American is a specific ethnicity with mixed African, European and Amerindian dna.
