- "Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God Almighty" was written by Bishop Reginald Heber in 1826.
The tune is 'Nicea', written by John Bacchus Dykes in 1861, named for the Council of Nicea held in 325 AD, where the doctrine of the Trinity was being formulated.
This performance is by Robin Mark.

I asked the Reverend for this hymn as my husband's coffin came in -I just really wanted to hear this and it was beautiful.

Our church sang this as my bride was coming up the aisle to join me upfront for our wedding vows.
This week, we will be singing this song, “”Holy, Holy, Holy” at her funeral service.

Finding this is like finding a precious pearl! Lovely praise and worship! I am an Irish Catholic but in England had to go to a Protestant school where we sang this in the morning. It filled my mind with such beauty. If only children could be given back all this glory again in the future.

I am having one of those hard weeks that includes being in an accident. I thought of the darkness I feel enveloping me this morning. A short while later, "Holy, Holy, Holy" kept ringing in my head and I started humming it. Soon, my sister was humming it, too though she seemed scarcely aware of so doing. This version of this beloved hymn really touched me as did the "lead" singer whomsoever he is. I am reminded that I am, indeed, blessed and highly favoured. Blessed be the Holy Trinity.

Great version! As an Anglican, I'm used to singing this fairly traditionally (SATB, Hymns Ancient and Modern, even as a member of a robed choir!) but really enjoy this slightly souped-up arrangement.

As a Daoist, I find this song relevant to my beliefs as well. We, at least some of us, believe God is a trinity that actually perfectly reflects the Christian trinity. Known as the 3 pure ones, they are 3 parts of the one God.
Some traditions see it differently, but for those of us who look at it this way, it's kind of interesting that God put these ideas into the hearts of humanity. Clearly revealing himself as it were.
