I can’t tell you how happy I am to finally get this extension! I employ focus stacking in many of my photo projects. Such a great new function, and as always, exceptionally explained! Well done again, Jakub!

Today I updated my luminar to the latest version and when I opened the software, luminar sent me an offer to buy 3 extensions for the price of 2. So I got the extensions that I wanted with one free.

Another great video Jakub - thank you. Is there a way to batch edit the RAW files before submitting them to the focus stack? I'm sure there must be a way but I haven't figured it out yet.

There is a way of batch editing. I cover this in my video about Catalog module here 👉 ua-cam.com/video/nSakclqb8lc/v-deo.html

In Photoshop I can take a few handheld shots and merge them effectively, but aligning them then blend them together. Would Luminar NEO Focus Stacking be able to do the same?

Although the Focus Stacking has a quite powerful alignment built-in, we would always recommend using a tripod or position your camera so it doesn't move between the shots.

Well , the video begins by a macro photo which is difficult to stack due to the huge number of picture in this cas due to the very shallow dof. Then you illustrate the tool with seven landscape photos … does it means that the tool is not capable of doing this for macro? Please clarify. If you want to show that the tool is a good one you should do it on various exemple, just like if you want to show a car is good , you don’t test it only in a long strait road :).

Hi Phil, thank you for your comment. I apologize if you feel that the work could have been done differently. However, please note that I am not selling the extension (or car) in question. The video was released a few days after the Focus Stacking extension became available, and I used the photos that were available to me at the time. The extension is more than capable of handling macro photos with a large number of images. I may consider creating a tutorial on this topic in the future.

@@CleverPhotographer Hi no problem I understand but it s true that all the YT videos for this extension uses landscape photos where usually you only need 2 or 3 pictures if you use a wide angle at f8. For macro due to the shallow dof at short distance even at f11 you need far more photos if you want to have all in focus on say 1 or 2 cms. And of course this means a huge work for the program. And we know that even program dedicated to this function (helicon for instance) it s not always good first time. If you can test and make a video on it it would be great. You will be the first !

Looks very cool but it costs over $200 so I'm going to have to pass on it. Luminar is figuring out too many ways to reach into my wallet these days.

Yeah, would love to have them all, but the cost is too high, as I'm an enthusiast/hobby photographer, and take images for my own use. I've been using Luminar Ai since it came out, and Luminar 4 prior to that. I have several other Skylum applications as well, but I suppose the cost is something the Pro's can use to help them sell their images, so I'll stick with what I've got for now.
