- Norland is a gloriously wonderful game that takes many good bits from Rimworld and many good bits from Crusader Kings and mushes them together to produce something fantastic!
There's settlement building, resource gathering and demand management, a bit like Rimworld, but then we have the interactions of our Noble characters who can chat, trade, seduce and even murder, a bit like Crusader Kings.
We play as a Noble Dynasty who rule over a realm in a larger Kingdom and when we begin we have very little in terms of settlement so we have to get building. However there's a more pressing issue: Queen Betty has been kidnapped!
King Bernard (because of course we have Betty and Bernard) is angry about this and despite his peaceful nature and lack of military ability decides to make her rescue top priority, so at great expense we buy in some soldiers and weapons and then set off on a rescue mission!
As well as all of this we also find time to educate our Son and heir, issue some tasks out to the peasants and buy some blessed rings!

Norland is a medieval kingdom sim inspired by Rimworld and Crusader Kings that generates complex stories.
Manage a noble family that owns a city populated by dozens of characters from different classes: from aristocrats to peasants, soldiers to criminals. Each citizen has their own needs and complex behaviors, which will depend on their social status and individual traits. And often, their behavior can be deadly to your family.
Control your noble family by assigning tasks to all of its members.
Witness how family members will build complex relationships between themselves through love, hatred, friendship, envy, jealousy, betrayal, and a lust for power.
Punish criminals, take care of the citizens, and put down any bloody riots that may occur during your reign.
Build your armies and defenses, then make decisions on whether to fight or ally with other kingdoms
Oversee power struggles, plan out your intrigues and secretly assassinate dangerous enemies.
Make ambiguous decisions during events on the global map.
Absorb knowledge and technology from books, rewrite them, or create entirely new ones.
Build the production chains, raise the population, pay wages, put prices on the domestic market, and trade with incoming caravans.
Experience different starting conditions for a unique gaming experience every time you play.
The game generates complex stories on a new level through unpredictable interactions in a large society made of numerous, unique individuals: things like social stratification, crime, riots, religious controversies, and struggle for the throne can all play a part in the story.
They all have their own relationships, sex drive, beliefs, health systems, and backgrounds. Family members also have unique personality traits, and family traits can be passed on to their children.
They joke around, gossip, insult one another, fall in love, make friends, support each other, and sometimes even kill one another out of anger.
Initiate political intrigue with other kingdoms and religious leaders on the global map. Manage events that require intervention, such as blackmail, plague-infested refugees, natural disasters, and more.
Build and upgrade buildings to create efficient production chains but don't forget the ecological balance. Attract migrants with low prices and high wages for work in hazardous industries, or don't pay them at all.
Make use of seven weapon types, three different types of armor, unique combat skills, the body part damage system, and the morale of each member of your army!
Survive in the non-stop competition with other kingdoms. Create complex scenarios by building a society with class, culture, and creed to consider, Build a strong professional army or a wealthy society of free and happy city dwellers with high levels of technology.

Yes! There's lots of new content for Rimworld since the last series, too, so it'd be a completely different game. Almost. :D

Loved this and looking forward to the series! I was so glad Bernard was able to rescue Betty. Can't say I blame her for not being "ready for a date" when they got back home. Medieval times several hundred years into the future? Cool.

This is great. Another lovely series after the magic school wrapped up and the Uniersim seems to be heading towards the end. It was so nice to see Bernard rescue his beloved Betty. It is a nice blend of Rim World and CK3.

I think the game designers slightly overestimated what a one year old is capable of.

Rutabaga is the US term for what is called swede, turnip or neep in the UK
I live in the us and have always heard Turnip.
@@calvinpaschal6969 I was just going by what google was telling me. For me personally though, turnips are not the same as swedes. Turnips are white and purple and swedes are brownish-yellowish. So do you call them all turnips?
Without swede you can't have a Cornish (style) pasty.
@@Spiklething rutabaga, Swede, and Neeps are all the same vegetable they are a member of the brassica family. Turnips are a different vegetable, a rutabaga is the hybrid between a turnip and a cabbage.

I love how you create your old family my only question is that can your family member died like your king get assassin, and now your son got take over and I hope their a timeskip like over time your kid get older and your king and queen get older and other death

I have! There's a little mini-series of it on the channel, albeit from quite a long time ago now so it was very much an older version of the game than it currently is right now. It was great fun!
@@TheGeekCupboard Thanks for the answer. The current version is a lot of fun, it even has the possibility of having children. With mods it gets even better.
