As I become more experienced at using memory palaces I often find it harder to discover new information on the internet about memory palaces but I always manage to find a new piece of knowledge, however small, in each one of your videos! Just finished watching the video on The Roman room and got very excited. The video I want to make has four separate roman rooms except, instead of using pencil/pen we just fold the paper getting four separate squares (number of squares vary with the size of the paper).
I have been learning from you and some of the books you recommended, like Giordano Bruno and Robert Flud, but I think there is a missing piece for those with a lazy mind, a dictionary of image composition. In Solomon's memory palace book there is an index that can resemble to a dictionary. I have been trying with chatgpt and others to see if I can compose complex phrases into images but still can't crack the code, maybe you as an expert could provide an insight as to how to achieve this. I am not a native english speaker so compose complex phrases or paragraphs could be challenging some times. Thanks for all the work done here, really appreciated.
Such dictionaries exist and chat-GPT is one of them. But the reality is that people with lazy mind's aren't going to get much further by having images generated for them because the knowledge memorized has to be used. If you want to create a complex of associations, the Magnetic Memory Method Masterclass has been helping people do this for over a decade. You can't be lazy to make it work, but it does provide the least cognitive load that I'm aware of and when I find other paths, I always update the program. Note that it doesn't matter what language you speak. The techniques work almost precisely the same. The only differences involve small additional steps for character sets, and they are relatively easy.

Plus, I will listen to your above video soon. Just finished a 4 page paper. I love voice typing. I told my father you and other people I know are not fans of voice typing but, I love it. For long assignments. Sometimes when, I voice text message I intentionally type it out so I don't forget how to type. lol

I think the way to do it would be to require new teachers to learn it when they are taking teacher training. That way it would more naturally flow to the younger people. What do you think?
I definitely agree, and I also understand that teachers should be taught such techniques in order to be able to make them part of the learning process, so it's quite a slow process... But I always wonder ... It is known that these techniques are old and were used centuries ago... How is that they have been lost? Why such powerful mental methods are not so common? They should, shouldn't they?

I love apartments with compartments/ magnetic memory palaces, tho I seem to run out of them. I only managed to recall 50 places I can use as a memory palace :/. Do you have any tips on how to stretch out this number further? thanks in advance
Thanks for your post and for reading The Victorious Mind! If you regularly revisit your past, I think you'll find many more Memory Palace options emerge over time. There is also the future, and as you add more, you'll find interesting ways to segment them so that one becomes two. It's more about matching the information to the MPs than it is about the number that you have. Obviously, spatial memory is worked the more you create, so it's good to massively expand over time. But this should not be an alternative to actually using them well with the info you do need to memorize. Is this response helpful? :-)

Hi, i hope i am not to late to ask a question here! If you repeat (what you want to learn) for long enough, do you at one point mentaly unlink your loci-pictures from the information you wanted to learn? Let's say for this example i want to learn all members of the current government. In the beginning i would go like: 1 (and my loci-picture linked to the number) = John Lastname 2 (and my loci-picture linked to the number) = Maria Lastname and so on... If i still wanted to know this information in 6 to 24 (or even more) months, would i continue repeating it like in the example above or would it go more like the following: 1 = John Lastname 2 = Maria Lastname and so on... If i wouldn't forget the association to the loci-pictures at one point, i feel like it would get confusing at some point, since i would've used the loci-pictures way to often (i am aware that shortterm you can use loci-pictures multiple times, as long as the topics are diverse enough). I am aware that you could increase the amount of pictures and certain techniques, but i feel like the 100 pictures i know in order to put information on should be enough. If you repeat (what you want to learn) for long enough, do you at one point only remember the information that you wanted to learn (and the order) AND unlink it mentaly from your loci-pictures? OR do your loci pictures always stay with the information you wanted to learn after a longer time and therfor multiple repetitions? I would assume it is the former, but maybe you can elaborate on that. Thanks in advance!
The only time I have deliberately unlinked anything had to do with quite a different application of the Memory Palace / Roman Room technique. I’m not entirely sure I understand what you’re asking, but if you feel what you’ve got should be enough, the next step is to test it. If things don’t work out as desired, consider using something like the Magnetic Memory Method. There’s never any unlinking needed that I’m aware except in the special case I’ve alluded to. I might talk about that case in a future book, but am not yet sure I want to get into the story behind it just yet.

I suppose you could memorize tempo demarcations, but I find it better to feel these in performance. Scales make more sense when mapped onto the instrument as well. So the intended use of scale theory should be considered.
A few suggestions: Search my channel for "music." And if you're serious, scale back from the topic of music and decide to master your memory for information as such. If you ever wind up in the MMM Masterclass, there are three tutorials about music in the FAQ section. They make sense only to people who have gone through the fundamental training and have learned to see all information for its similarities, not its differences. No matter who you learn the fundamentals from, the magic happens when the tools help the differences between this and that info disappear. Do these two suggestions help you out?

Also I must add that I have not started learning still so may be my opinion will be different once I get to the core work with him. Every minute spent on the internet seems so valuable that I ended up being impatient. He is definitely excellent in teaching and his method seems effective.
Relevance is in the eye of the learner. It's a waste of time and energy to claim that any of this video is not relevant or to potentially discourage others. Yes, that's exactly right. There are many exercises around how you can do this - each should be done 2-5 times per year, if not more frequently.

Also I must add that I have not started learning still so may be my opinion will be different once I get to the core work with him. Every minute spent on the internet seems so valuable that I ended up being impatient. He is definitely excellent in teaching and his method seems effective.
Relevance is in the eye of the learner. It's a waste of time and energy to claim that any of this video is not relevant or to potentially discourage others.
