As I struggled with a problem in my life, a trusted friend gave me some perplexing advice. He said I just needed to "grow a pear." I thought, okay, I can do that. So, today I planted 3 pear trees. We'll see.
That's about like "you should grow and Orchid." That's when you have relationship problems. If you can make it re-bloom you are ready for a relationship. LOL Here's hoping you didn't buy Bradford Pears, they don't produce fruit.
Lol. We have friends with "pear" so that wasn't a concern.😂 however, we are laughing at ourselves about the maze we created here. Just trying to keep an open road and might have messed that up.😂😂
Romans 8:11 NKJV [11] But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 💝💝💝
Ben, Been meaning to tell you this every time you move the pigs. The pig waterer float indicator you rigged is *BRILLIANT!!* Meg, That brand new baby you birthed is *ADORABLE!!* Hope everyone is doing well. Hugs, Doc❤
The most precious gift you can give your children is the gift of hard work helping them and letting them participate in whatever you're doing.I've raised 4 kids now and that's what we did with them. And it does make a huge difference in their attitude about work
I so enjoy the glimpses of flora and fauna...thank you. When Ben and Elizabeth look at the camera together, it's so easy to see she has his eyes. Big and beautiful.
Ben, for your piggy catching saga. Take a cattle panel and bend in a circle or triangle. Tie ends together. When you want to move the piggies just put it over them and walk them to where you want them to go. Just a thiught that might be easier.
Anything like that will work (if it is solid).. close in to move, they run to freedom. (OH, well.. that was a paramount thought.) It takes more than one person for sure. Me.. go for it honey. Him . Bring me that.. ok.
Piggies are fun for sure..😊a loop of fence. Put a short pole though. The front..3 people 2 in front on pole to drag. 1 in back to scoot..thats how we moved my friends.. worked pretty good..😊
The editor(TY Meg!) does really cool nature photography(any assistants?) and selects some of the best music, of any YT channel I watch! Kudos Hollars!!
My 18 year old granddaughter caught a trout this weekend! Long enough to reach from the tip of her fingers to her elbow! I told her dinner in the frying pan! She said “absolutely not”! I just like fishing! lol she watched pig dinner with me today and now she wants a mini pig! Lol
Pigs are so awesome! My neighbor’s chicken decided she likes to live here. I named her Dumplin, you know, like chicken and dumplings lol. She sleeps on my front porch, up on my Grandma’s old table. And she has decided to come inside a couple of times. I don’t let her stay long because she’s not potty trained lol. She was so cute, scratching on the floor trying to make a nest, but when she jumped up on the sofa and then on my bed, it was time to go back out. Idk what kind she is but she’s brown. And we talk, I’m like Dump a lin, hey girrrrl, and she answers back in almost the same tone. Just too cute. I should probably make her a nest, maybe she’ll lay me some eggs in trade for all the scraps I give her lol. 😆 ✌🏻🫶🏻
Lol. They are God made too. My first batch was so much more personal. Lots of kids around with ours so they had lots of handling. That is key. That's a tip for ya. Don't just be the feed lady, because some day you will need to be the rescue lady. That's my two cents.
When we eat out I know that chances are pretty good that I could cook whatever it is at home and it would taste better! That baby is absolutely adorable!!!
I haven't had fast food in 15 years. Eat home, much better, and it's Real food. Pigs are cute. Thank you for sharing a small part of your day. Hope your families are well. GOD BLESS YOU. I PRAY WIRH YOU AMEN.GLORY BE TO GOD HALLELUJAH SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
Not only faster, but soooo much healthier! And it looks frigging delicious! On a separate note, I have to say piggy gruntings are just as calming & adorable as gentle little chicken cluckings. I love your farm!
That is the first time I’ve heard you say your whole blessing… Loved it! We all need to remember to stop and thank the Almighty for those things we are blessed with, no matter how big or small.
Those big eyes...just soakin' up all the love of the Hollar kitchen/table at dinnertime! She is imprinting those sights/sounds/smells as her go to / comfy times! She and her family....so blessed!!
This is a quote by Robert Heinlein that I grew up with written on a magnet on our refrigerator, “Never attempt to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and annoys the pig.” I feels like this describes your frustrations with your pigs.😂🐖🐽
Nope. I don't do stench and mud!! I don't mind sliding on wet grass, but no mud pits for this old lady. You really earn all those "fast foods" Meg feeds you with the hard work you do. My favorite family on video. Many blessings to the Hollar family.
We have tried to stop Fast Food all together. However, we did have some Saturday. We both got sick. So that just solidified it for us. I'm thankful for my dishwasher because that is the one thing I absolutely hate to do is wash dishes by hand. Probably the only reason I want to eat out is so someone else has to clean up. 😬 We don't live too far from a very good Mexican food restaurant. So we do go there ever so often. I love watching Meg make meals. It inspires me.
I raised American Guinea hogs at one time. Pigs are powerful and smart. This morning I found that one of my Buck Nubian goats had literally SHREDDED the metal gate to break through to breed with a doe. Never seen that before.
Hello, always something to do on the homestead! The pictures of your garden are awesome and dinner looked delicious! Thank you so much for sharing and have a lovely restful evening.
Uncle Bus, our family pig farmer expert, told us to each get a big piece of plywood, line up side by side, and just walk them where you’re going. You’ve got such a great crew that this should work well.
Hey Ben, you should build an outdoor shower for you and the boys. After being in the pig pens it would be ideal instead of bringing the smell into the house. May not work for the winter months though.
🙋🏼♀️🕊. Beautiful start to the video 💞I guess it’s pig day. 💭💭My dad made an outside shower. 🍀🍀🍀For when he didn’t want us to bring a mess either from the garden or the beach. I think it would save on the washer as well. If you get the dirt etc off .Just need some beach towels. Or robes. You and the boys would love that . And Meg as well 💞🕊💞🕊🕊blessings
Figs? Nice shots of the animals and fruits of your labor. Good luck moving those pigs. They do do what they want and not what you want. Nice, distract the big pigs with grass. Wow, that was a big deal! Those last 4 pigs were really hard to move. Too bad you had to manhandle those last 2 pigs! Those larger brothers will be good eating. They look nice and big! Corbin is such a help for making the new pig waterer. That's great that you made an indicator float! Yum, chicken tetrazinni! Fresh leeks too! Love a white sauce. Yum Meg! Thanks for this video Hollar family!
Love the editing on this video. You are an amazing family with beautiful values and a "real " life ❤️. Thanks for sharing with us. Love the comment about the pig doing what they want not what we want. In french we call it 'une tête de cochon" a pigs head when someone is stubborn 😅. Love your channel!
Hey guys, got a smile on my face when I seen your video love watching your beautiful family thank you for this video. I love to see the nature like in the beginning like this beautiful.
Dig a ditch outside the fense on the uphill side to channel the water around the pen. Then roof pen to allow rain water to be collected for storage and use.
Fear is a crazy motivator! Hard to believe that pig would rather run through a hot fence than take an open fence and join the other pigs! Oh well! Dinner looks delicious, yes spaghetti and meat sauce is my fast food! Much healthier and tastier than junk food! 💖
Loved all the pretty flowers and the butterfly in the beginning of this video! Glad you got your pigs moved! That’s a great idea for the water barrel! Dinner looked delicious and you are right, way better than fast unhealthy food! Baby is so sweet, watching mama cook! Buggy and the boys are so helpful! You just have a beautiful family all the way around!
No matter how many times I see that tiny huge wave and hear that tiny voice say "bye" ..... Oh my heart!!!! Buggy is way too cute. IDK if I ever told you guys but my brothers Mom "named" all 3 of my boys her own nicknames. One oldest is buggy, my middle is critter and my youngest is skeeter. When I heard you guys say that her nickname is buggy, I had to put the captions on so see if I was hearing that right. I thought that was cool to have our kids have the same nickname LOL I have all boys so we couldn't get lucky on real names match with her. My older two boys call each other Stinky and stretch. LOL if you know you know!!! They won't call the youngest fatso. They don't want to call him a mean name since he's gonna be 3 next month and still doesn't talk.
lol Liz staring at the camera like she’s seen some ish. Sweet little one. I hope someone gets her saying Dada at Ben for the first time. I know he’s gonna fall down 🤣🤣
I was thinking pig boards would work well for moving those piggies. A few boys with quarter sheets of plywood with handle holes cut in them, herding the pigs toward the gate. Well, maybe next time. Glad you got them where you wanted them in the end! 🙂 I love watching all that you do on your homestead, seeing the kids helping with whatever you are working on, and Meg is a rockstar cooking all those meals from scratch for your big family! ❤
Feeling your clutter situation, Ben. My eye can't find one spot to rest that doesn't need my attention. It has been a year of it for sure. Great video.
Just love your family, everyone helping with chores. We had pigs back when we were growing up, your right Ben ...... they have a mind if their own !! Read somewhere that they're extremely intelligent.
Those Turkey tail mushrooms are looking great for harvesting before they get too much bigger. Great edition to any holistic homeopathy tinctures or powders you will be making.
Fast food from home is always the best. My oven is broken at the moment so I've been experimenting even more with foods I can make. I used to make pepper steak in the crock pot or cook in the oven but now I don't have to. I cooked some of my own peppers and onions in the skillet and let them cook until they get a little soft. Then I opened up a couple jars of the beef that I canned, added the broth and some of my home canned tomato sauce. Then added the beef in the skillet. SO GOOD! Just made some potatoes and my home green beans and it was a great meal. Didn't take long at all!
Hello, tks for video. Gotta love them pigs....lol...I hear Jason saying ,"I don't trust no pig.." but in time ya did get them over there. Now all those baby piglets is another video.... cause they are FAST runners. Liz is growing fast also, along with Buggie...boy time flies, and b4 we know it ...this year is gone. Much love to whole family.....
We make a similar dish here only we add some mustard to the sauce. Not enough to make it hot but enough to give it a kick, delish! Oh. So funny when Ben said the was going to burn his pants! lol

Hey guys... I haven't even watched the whole video yet, but this is just what I needed today. I need some "normal." It's like breathing clean air.
I must agree. With all the other things going on we can all take a dose of NORMAL!❤
🇺🇸🇺🇸💞🇺🇸🇺🇸
Amen!
😊
Maybe a new pen for piglets

Just remembering this is Buggy's Happy Birthday month.... maybe more Hollars. Enjoy coming along on your journey!!!
Boys take a lot of pride in their appearance.I noticed that after haircuts my boys and I have 3 really changed. And make them proud of themselves.

Pigs understand gates. That's why I've seen a farmer install small wooden gates in all of his sections.
I so enjoy the glimpses of flora and fauna...thank you. When Ben and Elizabeth look at the camera together, it's so easy to see she has his eyes. Big and beautiful.

All the pigs telling you to bring snacks. Very polite piggies actually.
I love it when you call the boys by name so that I can learn who is who. Thanks!

It's a process, consider yourself on stage 1. Try growing your own now while you can still go get stuff to cook at home. Welcome to stage 2.
I raised American Guinea hogs at one time. Pigs are powerful and smart. This morning I found that one of my Buck Nubian goats had literally SHREDDED the metal gate to break through to breed with a doe. Never seen that before.
We prefer homemade fast food. It's delicious, you know what's in it, and it's hot when you sit down to eat it.

Hello, Ben! Call me crazy, but I love watching you work with the pigs.
Love ❤️ watching your homestead
I watch every morning before work at 6am! Your hard word inspires me all day! Much love.
Using the netting to make a chute just teaches the pigs that they can break through the wiring... pigboards are your friend.
they did fine
Thanks for the pig watering tutorial. 😊
