Beginner Ballet Series - Basic Positions of the Feet

- Today I am talking about the five positions of the feet. This is one of the building blocks of ballet and something all dancers learn.
In all the positions it is important to fully feel your rotation from your hips and your feet spreading out on the floor growing roots in the ground. Just standing in these positions can give you quite a workout when done correctly!
My favorite positions has always been second position - what is yours?

I never thought about the circular motion while in turning out position.
It helps me to not tense my hip muscles too much while trying to keep my turn out.
Thank you!
Yes, this is a helpful mental switch, to go from squeezing to feeling the spiral! Glad it helps!
