I am s-l-o-w-l-y getting started in this game and as such I spend a lot of time looking over old and new information . I found your post today and I have to tell you the "tree stand" is a Super Cool way to set up the vertical filtering system. Those stands are generally cheap and can be found anywhere. The footprint is wide enough to prevent the filter from tipping over. Thank you for sharing this idea and thank you for the rest of the information you provided in this video. Looking forward to watching the other video's you have produced!!!
Hey Aaron, I'm kinda new to PCP air rifles. I work on high pressure air compressors and high pressure air dehydrators when at work. Some pointers I'd like to give you that will ensure the air you put in you bottles is dry.Air is like a sponge, when you squeeze a sponge the water falls out, when you compress it at some point in the compression the air reaches saturation, when that point is reached 3 things have collided " pressure " moisture content" and "saturation temperature". A simple thing you could do is install a back pressure valve set at lets say 4200 psi, have the valve installed as the last fitting before the air goes into a bottle of gun. In doing that when the air is squeezed to 4200 psi and then the back pressure valve drops it to what ever pressure you charge the bottle or gun to lets say 3500 psi that 700 psi drop expands the air causing a separation of saturation temperature and pressure, just like wringing out a sponge. The other thing I would do is the cylinder you have, the gold colored one, if you could wrap that with a wet cloth and blow a fan on it you will get a chilling effect like a swamp cooler and that will aid in condensing out moisture from the process air, if you could submerge it in ice water would be even better but I think that is a little extreme. Also what I would do, on the cooling water, I'd get some copper tubing maybe 1/4 inch of the soft refrigeration type and wrap it around the discharge pipes of the compressor (the ones that get hot) just coil it around the pipe. I'd then route the water returning into the bucket thru those copper tubing's and then into the bucket. The compressor will run cooler and you will get more water and oil out of the air.
I had never heard of compression aiding in dehydrating the air and Ice water ideas sound good. You have some great ideas on how to keep the compressor cool. Thanks for the information. Best of luck.
I just purchased the Tuxing Oil/Water separator and, following in your footsteps, I've attached it (upright) against the Christmas tree stand. It's a simple rigging solution---and it works! Aaron, you're on my top 10 list of UA-cam air-gunners who offer valuable information and tell it like it is. Many thanks!
Another Home Run Video, Aaron! I really enjoy your videos. They are easy going and informative. I went with a different compressor but the main thing with any compressor is not pumping water into your bottle or gun. As you said in another video, running the compressor after a fill to purge moisture from the compressor should not be forgotten. Thank you for what you do and Happy New Year!
Thank you Aaron for making all these videos. I just ordered the Yong Heng and the filter that you recommended. Hopefully I'll have the same good results with the system as you have had.
I would almost guarantee that you will have a Good experience and service from this system. In fact the only failure I have ever heard of is when they forget to plug in the water pump resulting in failure. But they got the parts they needed on Alie Express and made the repairs in no time. So make sure that the water is flowing every time. Thanks for watching and best of luck.

Quick question Aaron, I filled my tank to 4500psi and I mistakenly closed the valve on the tank before turning off the compressor or releasing the air from the drain screws and now my Yong Heng compressor blows air out of the black oil fill cap instead of the fill hose, do you have any idea of what the issue could be I would really appreciate it ,TIA
awesome information my friend I only have a 3 litre dive bottle so I could do with a compressor especially now I will be filling an FX Crown carbon bottle thank you for your informative videos
I find that it is easier to just Fill my FX impact straight from the Comprssor. It takes it to 3,500 psi in no time and I can shoot the .177s all day with one fill. Thanks for watching.
Excellent video Aaron, thanks for sharing. It will be possible for you to upload a video when you perform maintenance on the YONG HENG compressor, please.
Sorry I'm so late getting b to you. There are videos on UA-cam that show how to dissemble and even how to make repairs. So please check them out. Thanks for watching and for your comment.
Remember that if a gun takes 2900 psi and your tank can only hold 3000 psi after the first fill your tank can no longer take the gun to max pressure and each time after it just keep getting lower. Something to keep in mind for the future Thanks for watching.
I know I just got a S9 and the notifications are driving me crazy but if I turn if off I feel like i'm going to miss something. Hope you get lucky on tinder. Happy holidays and thanks putting up with my many notifications.
I just installed a filter on my yong heng and replaced the molecular sieve that came with it 5-6mm, with some that is 0.5-1mm in diameter. It seems to work. Also I bought a hiking type water bottle that has a straw that goes right to the bottom. I drilled a hole near the top, where I attached a section of the straw to the inlet of the compressor using another fitting (not sure what the size is). I then filled the bottle with desiccant, so that the spout that is usually used to drink from, is forced to suck the air down the straw, through the desiccant, then through the original filter screw, through the cut section of straw and into the compressor. That way it reduces the amount of moisture going into the compressor itself.
The water itself is not necessarily a problem in quality built guns (bigger problem with cheap metals). But the real issue, is the water freezing under pressure. It can destroy valves, etc. if the water freezes at high PSI ejection.
I like my Yong Heng but you do need to operate it correctly. I had to return the first one I bought. So turn it on with the black knobs turned out and run a minute or two then tighten the black knobs. Depends on outside temp for worm up colder temps run more, hotter temps run less. Before turning it off depressurize (black knobs out) before shutting it down. I have had mine for 1 year.
Good video, I see a lot of people recommending the yong heng compressors but rarely mentioning the importance of filtering , For anyone buying a cheap compressor, While they are certainly great value, I wouldn't let it near a decent rifle without a good filtration system. p.s merry Christmas, Hope your didn't get in too much trouble for taking the tree down every time you wanted to go shooting :-)

If your have a a $400 Alpha I think it is overkill to add another. Just use the original Yong Heng filter as I do for a pre filter and change it often. Just my thought. Thanks for watching.
Hello, I want to buy one of these compressors, how much is the price, and I want to fill oxygen capsules up to 180 times, 50 per day, will it work for me? guide me
I had no problem with that. However, if you are having problems just pick up a few extra male and female fitting on eBay. I find that the quality is often better than those that come on the hoses, tanks, filters etc. These are the ones I purchased: www.ebay.com/itm/363616280262?hash=item54a9381ec6:g:EFYAAOSwNnVhijK4 Best of luck.
I like to have it first go through the cotton then the molecular sieve and then the charcoal. However I have now taken out the charcoal because I was told that the charcoal is for diving. Now I put in double cotton first to make sure the oil is trapped and the Molecular sieve last to take out the water.. Thanks for watching.
Hi Aaron, I bought the Yung Heng compressor last week and watched both your videos about it, I liked your Xmas tree stand idea. This is my first compressor and I wrap the wet towels around the tubing like you suggested and put radiator fluid mixed with distilled water. I ordered the oil water separator, and a 4ft fill hose. The only thing I didn't order yet is the 90° elbow fitting I noticed on your compressor. I was only able to find one rated 2800 psi maximum. Is there ones rated higher? Thanks for all the information.
I did not put an elbow on my compressor but I have put them on my fill adaptor. I just went to Lows and got 1/4 inch elbow from their plumbing department. No problem yet. So the 2800psi should work I guess. Best of luck.
Great and very informative videos. I’ve been watching several of your videos and I have purchased one of these Yong Heng Compressors for filling my HPA Tanks for paintball a couple weeks ago. Everything has been 100% on my end and I have the same system. No issues at all. Do you think the desiccant is unneeded or would it be okay to use both the desiccant beads and the molecular sieve beads together? I also may add one more Cotton Filter at the end of the big gold water filter, just to catch anything else that might pass through, for the last stage before the air goes to my tank. Would you say this is a good or bad idea? Appreciate your information and clear guidance. It helps us out a lot. I subscribed.
Everyone is telling me that I should use the beads and cotton because that will take care of the water and oil that could be a problem. I would put the cotton oil filter first before the beads to keep oil off of them. In my case I think I am going to put cotton, beads and then cotton again when I change my filter. Thanks for watching and for subscribing. Best of luck.
Thing is, most of the filtering medium is useless... you use charcoal, which only really helps with odor from the compression and silica, which is just not as good as the molecular disiccant at high pressures. You only really need the cotton "filters" on top of the molecular disiccants.

Hello aaron Got a new question for u. Bought the yong heng. Now trying to decide in an oil. The book calls for aw or iso 46 but recommends mobil 827/829. The 46 i's a 15 weight oil while the 827 is higher. Not to mention expensive. And I've also read a few comments on the net about using air comp oil that is rated for scuba or human air consumption.... what you think buddy?
Ken and I use #46 Hydrolic oil. It is a clear oil so you will know when to change it by watching to see when it starts to get dark. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
John Brewer: I sprung for the more expensive synthetic oil, Amazon $8.95 a quart. It is clear and cheaper than any syn. I have used synthetic oils for 30yrs and they well worth the money.

Hello Aaron, Question:: I have installed this same setup with just beads. I have a problem here. During fill-ups when the pressure gets to around 150 bars the compressor struggles and will not continue filling to my required 200 bars. My compressor does not have a auto pressure shut-off.. To me it seams as though the high pressure may be compressing the beads so tightly that the air flow is restricted (just a guess). After removing the filter everything returns to normal,. Have you had this problem or have you heard of this problem with this filter before?
I have now heard of that problem before. The beads cannot compress as the air will travel around them. Try placing a cotton filter at the end of the filter as one of the beads could be clogging the outlet. I have cotton at both ends of my filter with the beads in the middle. I am glad to know that it is not the compressor itself. Thanks for watching and best of luck.
In that case I just don't know what could be causing it because the air passes around and through the pellets so they can compress. Wish I could be of more help. Thanks.
I just talked to ken and he has had his for almost three years and he says that his will now not compress over 3000 psi and then it blows a fuse. He thinks it is the motor not being able to push the piston past 3000 psi. I just wanted to pass that along too. Thanks again.
Well if kin decides to try a fill by bypassing the filter and go to a straight fill I would surely appreciate to know if his compressor returns to normal and goes past 3000ps, Mine works perfect without the filter.r@@aaroncantrell8819
Just go to Good Will, Salvation Army, or any used store and get a standing lamp and cut it down or any thing that has a round or has three legs and make it work. You may have something laying around the house. Thanks for watching.
I have not changed my filters since I got it. Because it is vertical when you bleed out the 3,500 psi it pushes most to the moisture out. Then I opuen it to let it dry out. So I don't know when I will change it . Do a search on UA-cam and maybe someone has an answer. thanks for watching.
No offense, but I don't think you really understand how a desiccant like Molecular Seive or Silica Gel works. Both those materials actively absorb water and bind it until saturated, at which point it may as well not be there because it isn't going to absorb any more water. The only time you'll see liquid water is when the material cannot actively absorb any more so leaving the bottom end open to 'let it drain out' will not work - either the material is 100% saturated or (if not) it will continue absorbing water from the air until it is. It will not 'dry out' if left on its own, you have to use energy to drive off the water, such as heating to 350degC in an oven for 4-5 hours. Once dried it's good to go again. Molecular Seive is a bit more aggressive/faster than silica gel for absorbing water, and consequently requires more energy to force it to give up any water it has already absorbed. Don't ever leave it in an uncapped container for any length of time.
Aaron: Your air must be drier than a popcorn-fart (as my dad used to say) However I think it is over kill. I use the first stage and change the cotton every use (they are cheap) Thanx for Ur take on wet PCPpp"s
I really researched this topic before marking this video and all the experts say that this kind of filter is a must and if the filter is not used correctly they are not effective. So my video contains all their information and recommendations. Better safe than sorry especially if the solution only cost $99.00. Thanks again.
Aaron I hate you now another thing to buy. Going to buy a harbor freight $10.99 12x 18 wood rolling cart to move it outside to porch. 6x16 covered porch. Will be easy to mount the filte4 as the Yong heng measures 12 X 18 and will fit crossways .to crippled up to carry a 30 pound thing while using a walking stick.
Sounds like a good plan I think I am going to copy it. My compressor is on top of the washing machine and driving my wife crazy. A cart would allow me to put it away when not in use. Thanks for the idea. Best of luck.

Thank's aaron for the info
You are welcome. Thank you for watching. Best of luck.
Today when I got my gamo urban I thought I didn't pull it back far enough so I pull the bolt back twice putting 2 pellet in it at once when I shot one pellet came out the side really fast I though I mess up the silencer I got lucky anyway nice video.... Isn't it possible to used car air compressor sorry for all the questions
No a car compressor can only pump up to about 150 psi. I have had hundreds of double feeds but never had any come out sideways. Are you sure that is what happened. Thanks for watching
@@aaroncantrell8819 yeah i took the silencer off it had lead on it IDK if that is from shooting it or from where that happen but it went out fast enough to hurt. I had the mag out when it did that. Those
@@hondadeluxe8201 My friend Ken once had a gun that just wouldn't shoot straight. He later found that the shroud was damaged and each pellet was hitting it causing the inaccuracy. I wanted to pass that on just in case. Thanks again.
Hello aaron
Got a new question for u.
@@back2backjack1 thanks robert. Im going to do jyst that. Im jyst trying to decide on scuba compressor type oil( assuming that the oil doesn't release as much of the smell).. or an equal to the the mobile 827 they recommend...
There is a metal disk with air holes on the top of and bottom of the filter to prevent that, but I will try cotton also, thanks| @@aaroncantrell8819
That's the exact set up I've got on order from Aliexpress, now I'm looking for a Christmas tree stand brother .... don't have a spare do you
Just go to Good Will, Salvation Army, or any used store and get a standing lamp and cut it down or any thing that has a round or has three legs and make it work. You may have something laying around the house. Thanks for watching.
Looks good
Thanks for watching.
Nice video my brother. One question I have is how long does the moisture trap last and when do you know it's time to change?
Hows the yong heng workg for u alex
I have had my Youg Heng for over two years and it is still going great. Sorry this is so late but I just found your comment. Thanks for watching.
OK@@aaroncantrell8819
You need to flip the line from top to bottom
NO, I WANT THE COMPRESSOR LINE ON THE BOTTOM SO THAT AT PRESSURE RELEASE MOST OF THE WATER WILL BE BLOWNED OUT OF THE CYLENDAR. Thanks for watching.
I'll
over kill......even double filter over kill...it cool people trip on what they trip on.
If I can give advice based on real research that says this is a good practice for protecting your PCP then comments like yours have no merit. It funny how some people trip on notions derived from nothing except a baseless ideas. Thanks for watching.
@@aaroncantrell8819 I think he must have got some good weed, cause he be tripping
Thank you for a great video. I will setup mine like your.
Keep it cool and the oil changed, and it can last for several years. Best of luck
