I'm not even halfway through this video, but I'm already compelled to say thank you. Confidence has been something I've been fearful of becoming because arrogance is something I never want to possess. Your explanation of confidence through the basketball analogy deeply explained why I approached life in such a hesitant and limited manner. It's almost as if my identity has been built off of what people have said about me and what people thought of me. I've always followed Jesus, I just failed to comprehend the need to be confident, so I made it a fear opposed to a posture that glorifies God because I will pursue things in a greater manner than in a low self esteem. So thank you for changing my perception of confidence. I am almost a month into my 3 month fast, and now I can finally give the Holy Spirit permission to fully govern my perspective of self and to better steward myself and life. Thank you, sincerely. Having confidence in your skills is almost as important as having the skills. E.g. Ben Simmons went from being one of the most hyped prospects ever to what he is now because he lost his confidence.
