This might be my favorite cover of this song. So good. Nitpick: it’s “the Chili Parlor bar” not “a chilly parlor bar.” Tons of people get this wrong because the lyrics on the internet are… wrong. The Texas Chili Parlor is a place famous for their chili, Mad Dog Margaritas, and being in this song thanks to having Guy Clark amongst its notable patrons.
This couldn't be any better. I've listened to it and "Farther Along" off and on for two days and I've made everybody I know listen. They loved it too. Why have I never heard of this group before? That's just crazy. If they'd come to my town I'd go see them.
stumbled on this unintentionally - a link to Guy Clark I guess. It was wonderful. Graet interpretation, subtle musicianship, and - well - Guy would be proud! thanks.
I remember riding on a train through the mountains in Switzerland about 3 and a half or 4 years ago going to the hr giger museum and telling my friend how much I loved the original of this song then she showed me this and ever since ya'll have done my favourite version of this song
Not only does Libby Rodenbough play and sing exceptionally well. She's a very good songwriter too (Down in the Water). Look forward to ore fromthis band and i hope they make it to the UK in the not too distant
Libby's voice is perfectly metered to the lyrics and she just pours the honey on those fiddle strings. My favorite cover of Dublin Blues to date.
I saw these guys in Chicago back in '22 or '23 at the Old Town School of Folk Music. They are a tight band. I was extremely impressed. Great concert.

Y'all should check out Lost Dog Street Band's version of this. it's so badass.
Emma-Leigh Taylor I second that
I like them both a lot but I reallly like this one. I love her voice! And I like the tempo they do this at better
Brilliant cover. Thank you.

Christian Bale on guitar, lol. This is my favorite cover of this song, you guys did awesome! Love your tunes!
Guy Clark would approve.
Really good. Hard to get that tone right on this song. But, this is awesome.
Guy would be proud!
This is my absolute favorite version of this song!! :)
nomadchica no offense but lost dog street band nails this song better then anyone
They do a great job on a Guy Clark classic.
I saw them play it last night -- it was electrifying.
Good lord this is tremendous!
Why so few views?
Libby does this song justice ten fold.
Amazing, would love to hear you cover a Kristofferson, John Prine or Townes Van Zandt song
Oooh, yes! :)
They've done Colorado Girl by Townes Van Zandt and its on UA-cam.
Damn goood
That look the mandolin player gives the bass at 3:06! LOL

saw them twice this year fucking phenomenal cant wait for the Orange peel in november
They are terrific. Three times in three years for me -- each time better, too. And I liked them a lot the first time.
My only wish is for mipso to chronicle my life in songs XD
Mine would make for a career-killing album.
hahahaha beautiful
Libby does all the justice for Guy Clark
Like this version, I also dig Ryan Bingham's version. The thing is a great song is a great song....
Man this shit is good. I'd lay some bad ass dobro into this for sure. :-)
Sounds like "Handsome Molly" by Dylan
do you do good or bad?
You can always love the French a
You should love the English because that is the language we speak
The first verse is the best singing I have heard in my whole life
Also wish she would have said "poor girl" in stead of poor boy
UA-cam answer the question please>?
Young people today eh? 😉
Excellent cover but is that Christian Bale on guitar?
The bassist looks like he just found out his dog died
you tube question you
Do you love people or money?
The musicianship is great but the singing needs more feeling. It's such a heavy song to me. Needs more emotion.
check out lost dog street bands cover! I really like Mipso's cover, but lost dog has a lot more emotion I think.
