    I will have to figure out what's going on with this 360 line and stop using it for now. It's only showing up on the UA-cam video. Sorry again!

    It is interesting reflecting on the differences between the States and Europe.
    There's plenty enough rules over here. HOA's sound a nightmare.
    I'm liking the sound of smooth, well paved roads. Ours in the UK have never been so bad, so potholed.
    Glad you got your back sorted. Cheers and take care

      I get asked about it a lot, probably since 50% of people who watch are from the EU/Australia.
      That there is! Thankfully here no stupid speed cameras everywhere. HOAs are literal manifested insanity imo.
      The roads are a definite highlight. You'd love them.
      Thanks , you two too!

    I’m finally retired and living on social security and couldn’t agree more💯💯I always said that people here are so depressed and are medicated or self medicated because of the of lack of the amount of free time. The closer to big cities the more miserable it is. I have taken my bike to Luray, Virginia numerous times and love that area. Living in the Philadelphia burbs has gotten very crowded.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 місяці тому

      Congrats!! I always wonder will I even make it to retirement :D I couldn't agree more, the chase of money over everything has always confused me, what good is it to you to have it all and not be able to use it, and enjoy it? I know a lot of people think I'm mad but just feel there is a lot more to life than working for a big ol corporation and also thanking them for it. :D
      Yeah I'm not a fan of cities, the more space around me the happier I am generally.
      Ah nice, I must get back to Luray, really cool place.

    My "philosophy" exactly .I work to finance the things the love to do . Very few people work in employment they love , but if you can find employment you don't mind doing and if you are not looking for excuses to skip work that is half the battle . I have been employed in the same job for 34 years and if some one was to ask me if I like my job my answer is no but bearable , it has provided me with a means to do the things I find important in my life and that is valuable .

    • @TheGorillaBiker

      That's exactly it. I have a job that currently doesn't stop me getting out of bed....my last job did for a bit hence why I'm not there now. Definitely my aim is the most bearable, highest paid with the most time off :D

    I totally agree with you on the HOAs. They're an abomination. Rules, rules, everywhere rules. Of course that's the source of the "it's impossible to not break the law" phrase. I like some rules to keep the jerks from hurting people, but it's sad we have to have them.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 місяці тому

      Yeah exactly. Like I'm fine with laws that make it possible to stop really bad people carrying on as they would love to. But otherwise I think people in general are over policed. I would hazard it hurts creativity and people being happy in general as it causes the thing where you're always half looking over your shoulder.

  • @jameshill8498
    @jameshill8498 4 місяці тому

    Definitely agree with you on HOA's. They are an attack on private property and freedom. I would never live where one exists. I have a tiny cabin surrounded by my own woods and wetlands. Nobody tells me what to do in my little Kingdom. Forget the garage, I work on my bikes in the living room.
    As an independent contractor I only work about 10 days a month and the rest of the time is for riding and living.
    Life is only as difficult as you make it. Just avoid the propaganda telling you how you're supposed to live and be free.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 місяці тому

      It's mad they're a thing. I'd never buy a house with one in a million years. Haha my wife might be upset if I started bringing bikes in to the living room again :D
      I'm on a visa. The plan is very much to contract at some point asap. Not a fan of 5 days a week being mostly bored.

    Good vid. Moved from central London to N E Lincolnshire some 15 years ago (best thing we ever did, lucky to have been able to). The people here are really friendly and seem to have more time to be decent (obviously, there are exceptions). Maybe less hubbub = more chilled in general. Weird things in UK? Lots, but mainly me and my good lady 😂 Who'd want to be "normal" anyway!!! Cameras - I'm not a camera user, I'm forever being moaned at for not using my phone camera enough. I do regret not taking some photos of stuff, but I also like living the experience, not through the lens of a phone camera (extreme I know, and I think you have a good balance and a great record to look back on). Cheers, Andy.

    You should travel to the Pacific Northwest, m'dude! Bring Toaster! You think the stuff on the east coast is nice, I bet you'd love the stuff around northern California, Oregon and Washington. We have a rainforest in WA too! Fly over if you don't want to ride across the US, and rent a couple bikes few days. There's camping in the rainforest too.
    I will forever encourage you to come this direction. We have some really awesome roads around here, and it is quite beautiful. Check out the Hoh Rainforest, or the High Steel Bridge in WA. There's also bioluminescent plankton that can be found in northern WA around the Puget Sound area, and pods of Orca as well.

    • @TheGorillaBiker

      I would love to! The biggest issue with travel over there is I utterly hate planes so would much rather ride or trailer, but then time and cost comes in to play! I'd love to tho, time and money sadly dominate that one more so than desire to go, we'd probably move over that way if not for visa ties.

      @@TheGorillaBiker It's so worth it if you can find a way over this way. Heck if you want to chill for the trip, you could even catch a train. Time it right and you may see the full moon over the mountains in Montana which are absolutely stunning as well since the tracks depart from the main highways so everything is shroud in a deep blue-black except for where the moonlight hit the snow atop the trees and mountain peeks. Got a chance to catch that awesome view on a trip back from Maine to Washington state.
      This country has so much to see. Wyoming has Devil's Tower which was featured in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. There's Niagara Falls. Georgia has the blue mountains I believe? California has the Redwood Forest. Etc. etc. Hopefully you and Toaster will be in the states for a while, and have an opportunity to explore it. It's a whole new experience on a motorcycle vs in a car, too.
      Anyway I'll stop gushing over all the cool stuff here lol. Take care and thanks for another great video!

    Hoa are insane, the rise is caused by cities and counties having weak laws - I grew up in a place with "broken window laws" they mandated property be maintained to a bare minimum and enforced it. IT WORKED.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  4 місяці тому

      Broken windows is also a law enforcement policy they used in new York I think where people were very strongly punished for the smallest crime. That one I would never support in a million years.
      Maintaining properties to the minimum is fine. Once it's laid out properly and can't be abused.
