I laughed pretty hard during this video. I lost it at 2:44:20 You are definitely hilarious, always look forward to one of your videos after work. You brought back a good childhood memory when you were singing "Doggy in the Window" My late Grandmother would sing that to me when I was a child. Thank you for that.
I can understand Funk not wanting to be on camera...the internet is a vicious beast...but it would be nice to hear her voice more...her comments are a trip and worth a listen.
Trust me, 20 years from now she will regret that she didn't. Several ladies in our family screamed and ran any time a camera appeared (including me sometimes), a few even got very nasty. I'm too fat! My hair is a mess! But years later they had the biggest smiles seeing their young selves in the few photos that existed. Just do it Funk for the few times you are out together, and ignore the idiots. This separation is awkward.
@@KelJayP I’m not camera shy. It’s more about privacy for me lol! But we do have lots of footage just the two of us! We’ve been doing these trips together for almost a decade...in 20 years I’ll have plenty of footage to reminisce on. I just like being out there with my little family. Most people are here for Matthew and the dogs, and the ones who want to see more of me and the dogs can follow me on Instagram! ❤️ but you are right! My mom hates her picture taken and I have hardly any of her 😢 and probably none with the two of us!
@@KelJayP I would imagine they have plenty of stuff where she appears, but using the magic of editing, it is just not shared with the public. The fact that it becomes such a conversation on the internet about it proves that there is still something for her to be wary of. So long as I can vicariously trip along with Matt since, despite my freedom and flexibility, I so rarely get anyone to go on trips with, I'm happy. I haven't really developed much of a taste for solo tripping yet.

Dogs know how to sleep, nap, and relax. Every time I see them so relaxed I realize they rejuvenate that way, and we do too. But they make me want to nap! Haha Love watching them sleep. Enjoying watching the fearless camper and his two dogs do normal outdoor fun stuff rather than staying at home watching movies. Thanks for a healthy alternative. Keep up the good work. Pharaoh region of the Adirondacks. Took a friend that never done a long camping trip before. He loved it. I cook one of your recipes and he loved it. The birch and pine are beautiful, and the aspen and maple bring it all together. Oh, and Steve, he needs to get home, it's gonna freeze his legs off soon ha ha. I have never heard eagle sounds like that before 🤔😅

Had to pause the vid to say I just LOVED the hilarious firewood processing & stacking sequence on the 2nd night! FANTASTIC editing and delightful humor! And, as an aside: the rest of the video will tell, but it is REALLY hard for me to imagine Rueger EVER becoming a dog who will CHOOSE to “settle down” anywhere, even in a boat 😂😂😂. And another (more wonderful) aside: thanks to precious Monty reawakening my childhood longing for a rough collie (I binge-watched your channel during my convalescence with cancer treatments in 2018-2019), I am now the happy mom of a 5 month old rough collie boy named River! He was bred in Michigan, and his markings are so similar to Monty’s that it makes me wonder if they share a bloodline! So, your vids have deeply impacted my life- I have this new family member because of Monty’s soothing temperament & congenial attitude, and your good humor & love of the outdoors. Approximately October 5 through October 20 is my favorite camping time of the year. Usually not too cold and not too hot. Minimal snow if any, Fall colors are fading but still present, and most of the Summer campers have disappeared.
I loved this trip! I laughed so hard and Funk is awesome! She is the perfect partner for you! Tell Funk she needs to at least say hi one time to the camera! ❤️❤️

Love the doggies. Avocados; Once cut in half, remove seed, place skin side up, slide into strips, then peal the skin off. No waste, less messy and no wasting of the avocado, more for fish tacos. Love your fireside cooking. Thanks for the videos. They bring loads of joy.

And another (more wonderful) aside: thanks to precious Monty reawakening my childhood longing for a rough collie (I binge-watched your channel during my convalescence with cancer treatments in 2018-2019), I am now the happy mom of a 5 month old rough collie boy named River! He was bred in Michigan, and his markings are so similar to Monty’s that it makes me wonder if they share a bloodline! So, your vids have deeply impacted my life- I have this new family member because of Monty’s soothing temperament & congenial attitude, and your good humor & love of the outdoors. It could be 3 in the morning on the verge of sleep but when I start watching Matthew cook I have a craving to make me a 3 course meal, I've done it a couple times too the only thing I'm missing is Montreal steak seasoning
Approximately October 5 through October 20 is my favorite camping time of the year. Usually not too cold and not too hot. Minimal snow if any, Fall colors are fading but still present, and most of the Summer campers have disappeared.
No bugs either.
I loved this trip! I laughed so hard and Funk is awesome! She is the perfect partner for you! Tell Funk she needs to at least say hi one time to the camera! ❤️❤️

Love the doggies. Avocados; Once cut in half, remove seed, place skin side up, slide into strips, then peal the skin off. No waste, less messy and no wasting of the avocado, more for fish tacos. Love your fireside cooking. Thanks for the videos. They bring loads of joy.

I’ve never “in my lanta” ( I’ve never heard that and literally like 3 people said it in a week after you please forgive me if I’m not writing it right) had a “pudgy” sandwich. Until right now! Did it right! On sourdough cut in half held nicely added onions mmm! Thanks Matt! Oh btw... watching your paddling like saved us our first time kayaking... my husband fell out on a river long story short... we’re alive.
