    See, this guy doesn't add misleading titles ...this is appreciated . Plus you give good tips and your way of speaking is not annoying as most UA-camrs who do these kinds of videos also your English is excellent. Good job you deserve more subs.

      Drone Supremacy p.s.: you said CIAO in the video... sei forse un italiano? Il suggerimento per usare Google Street View prima di recarsi al volo con il drone - non ho mai pensato di usare Street View per "scouting" , bella idea questa da adesso in poi farò così. Saluti dalla Slovenia !

    Hi, it's a great video! I'm just a little curious about what you said from 3:17 to 4:05, coz normally other people's video don't mention about you still can control your drone via phone while connecting to the RC with OTG cable. Is this the trick you figured out how to control the drone with RC and phone simultaneously? (Of course I like this idea but just got a bit confused.)

  • @gus305
    @gus305 7 років тому +5

    One question that I have is, what happened to the GPS once you place your phone on airplane mode, wouldn't that restrict you to fly your drone just in line of sight and can't go further due to possibly losing your drone since there isn't a return home fail safe in place.

    • @DroneSupremacy
      @DroneSupremacy  7 років тому +5

      Hey Gus, that's a good question. I almost never use RTH feature as that's where I've seen the most of sudden drops from the sky and flyaways. I prefer to pilot it back to me every time.
      Theoretically though, the drone records the home point in the beginning of the flight and does not rely on the phone's GPS connection whatsoever - it has its own GPS so that shouldn't really matter.

  • @softarno
    @softarno 7 років тому

    Thank you so much for the useful tips, but if you put the phone on flight mood how will you get the GPS to work? in fact i started to use the cable to make the connection as the GPS to work i need the data on my phone to be running? any other way?

    • @DroneSupremacy
      @DroneSupremacy  7 років тому

      Not a problem! :)
      As for the GPS, you're getting the GPS signal through the drone, not through the phone, so things are just fine!

    Hey. Nice video. Do I really need to relink the drone with the RC every single time I switch from app remote back to RC mode? Or do I simply hold the Spark's power button for 3 seconds and it will repair with the recently paired RC?

    • @DroneSupremacy
      @DroneSupremacy  7 років тому

      Hi Eric. No, you don't to relink it every time - the first time is enough. Once the remote is linked, it will connect automatically every time as soon as it's powered on.

    • @Alias-49013
      @Alias-49013 7 років тому

      Drone Supremacy Thanks for your quick answer. That makes sense, but if I switch to the app remote via 6 seconds power button and then switch back to RC mode: do I then have to relink? Or do i simply hold the power button for 3 seconds and it will reconnect to the last known RC?

    • @DroneSupremacy
      @DroneSupremacy  7 років тому

      I'm not 100% sure, but I think you'll then have to relink, but you'll have to initiate the "linking process" both by holding the power button for 6 seconds and by holding the Fn + Pause + Customizable button on the back of the RC to make sure it connects to the Spark. I hope that makes sense, I'm not sure I explained it the best way :)

    • @Alias-49013
      @Alias-49013 7 років тому +1

      Makes total sense. But it's quite cumbersome if you have to relink every time. Would make far more sense to have a simple way to switch between your RC and your app. I also don't understand why they didn't include an otd cable, but instead connect the app to the RC via Wifi if an otd works. But we'll probably never find out. Or we'll get a firmware and accessory upgrade some time. ;) Thanks for your time

    hi! thanks 4the video, really helpful! i didnt understand tip nº4. i mean, if there is a new firmware update u only will be aware of it if u puss for a couple of seconds the top right part of the screen or what do u mean? or it's just to choose which firmware u want to use the concret time u push that, but it has to be downloaded in advance? thanks so much

    • @DroneSupremacy
      @DroneSupremacy  7 років тому +1

      Hey Marcos! Let me make it a bit more clear for you:
      You only need to hold the 3 dots in the top right corner of the DJI Go 4 App in case you want to revert to an older firmware version for the Spark.
      The regular updates pop up on the screen as soon as you start the app, so you can't miss them. The tip only comes in handy if you're having issues with your current firmware and you quickly want to go back to a previous version which you're sure works fine.
      Hope that clears your confusion :)

      @OfficialFatLip 7 років тому

      and if it flips because of high winds?

    • @DroneSupremacy
      @DroneSupremacy  7 років тому

      It won't flip because of the wind - it's very resistant and relies on the GPS for its position, so it constantly compensates and so far i've never seen a Spark being flipped by wind.

    • @googleaccount2675
      @googleaccount2675 7 років тому

      well our Spark went down today, as the wind was 48klm ph it was downed at 467 meters from us and un believably landed itself in a neighbours farm just between a bunch of trees, so i say that the obstacle avoidance system worked great, we where confident it did not get stuck in a tree but it was weird how it took over itself to land (battery must of died sooner due to resistance with wind) but it refused to allow us to control it and the only worries we had was the lake near by!
      the way DJI set up the software and controller is remarkable, its like flying a real aircraft, you see everything on the app history, we tracked it down within 2 minutes by zooming in on the map., this would of NEVER been possible with the hubsan 501s (s stands for stupid) which are build with cheap soldiered GPS modules that disconnected due to normal flight shaking or vibration.

    I think everyone knows the first one with kill switching the motors, every drone I have has that feature, the motors stop when u flip it because if the motors didn’t stop then the plane would fly to the floor. But this can cause you to break your propellers because u are changing the direction of the wind on the propellers which causes a lot of stress on them, they can snap so I wouldn’t use this method good vid tho keep it up

    I just got this drone. It comes with 2 cables that were kinda hidden in the box. They connect it to the phone. Its smaller so that 4ft cord u have will be gone lol

    That was well presented and easy to understand. I have a Mavic Pro and putting my iPad into airplane mode might be a standard to live by. I'll have to check that out. But thanks for the FYI heads up!
