Yup, I asked that of Perk on his weekly podcast. Why, do these star players, that should make other better around them, don't? Yeah, fan luv Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but neither of them make poor Skylar Thompson better than that he is. Last game the commentator stated that Tua throws with anticipation. Why didn't he anticipate that Chosen would not run down field just as Waddle and Hill? Why not anticipating throws to the strength of players rather than anticipating that everyone just runs straight down to the end zone. The "deep threat" offense is very one dimensional and as we've seen nit even a threat because every team knows that the ball is going either deep down field or sideways.

Grier has been with this franchise in one way or another since 2007. We have not won a playoff game in his entire tenure. His failure to address the OL this past offseason doomed this season. He must be fired at the end of this season. This team is soft!
Oh wow! I thought Grier been with the franchise since 2001-02. Started out, I think as a scout. Either way, you are totally right. He's been here way too long and done nothing. Eagles have Howie Roseman, who started at nearly the bottom, and he got the Eagles to a Super Bowl win. He has, an eye for talent. His biggest issue was firing Pederson. Still, the Eagles, are always in it, come playoffs. Grier is too arrogant and entitled to think he is untouchable. And because he is well like, he keeps his spot. It's a mess.
It’s time for the front office to stop worrying about what moves and picks were made in the past and get the best 53 out there and sign guys for depth where positions are failing. Until the mindset changes, you’ll keep seeing us try and “ride out” players a bit too long.
From 2022-2024, Tua and Bridgewater (pocket QBs) were hurt and missed multiple games. It makes sense to get a mobile QB that can actually escape the pocket when the offensive line eventually fails.
Tyler Huntley has made more of his opportunities when starting than Skylar has. No disrespect to either of them but the notion that Skylar is more likely to be Brock Purdy than Huntley doesn’t make sense, especially when Skylar had a more similar situation to Purdy than Huntley did.

Mr Poupart, While I agree with both of you & Perk, honestly, don't we already know the answer to what the Dolphins organization think of Skylar Thompson when they signed Mike White last year? It just so happened that Mike White's play, was worse than Skylar Thompson's. So, what does it say? That Coach McDaniel does not have any eye for talent? Or, Grier, which, I am of the opinion of, does not have an eye for talent (or, at a consistent level)? So, Skylar Thompson, is not only playing for his job with Miami, but he is also always playing for another team's job, in the case, that the Fins, decide to either cut him in the offseason or attempt to move him to the practice squad? Teams are looking for at LEAST, an average back up. I feel bad for Skylar Thompson. And I am glad that you looked up that playoff game versus the Bills. Imho, it while it was a combination of many things that cost the Dolphins that game, it was not getting in the play in quicker from McDaniel to his rookie backup QB. That is what really upset me the most. That should have never happened. And yet, most Fins fans blame Skylar for that loss. I don't. Fins Up!
Arent you optimistic 😂 This team with or without tua was going to lay down at end of year when the good teams lined up to smack the soft fins around. Soft team, get paid but dont even produce. Blow this team up and get someone who gets players who can play physical. Send these high paid soft players somewhere else.
Blow it all up and change the personnel or the entire Offensive Philosophy with a new GM an HC? Then we'll suck through 2030... what's another 6 years of mediocrity?
Hi Allen this maybe long but don’t no how to get it out to dolphins fans and you my friend I disagree with on something but I like you any way wow right
If Tua suffers a career-ending injury before the 2025 offseason, Miami has insurance against $30 million of Tagovailoa's $42 million signing bonus. They also have $10 million of his 2025 salary and $9.3 million of his 2026 salary insured. The amount that Miami has insured drops if the injury occurs in future years according to a copy of his contract reportedly obtained by ESPN's Dan Graziano.
Grier needs to be fired. What an awful GM he has been. He has done NOTHING to improve the Fins. Specially drafting the right QB and getting the right OL players. The Fins mediocrity never ending story continues. Pathetic...smh
I agree. AS you know, part of the issue is, Grier, for the most part, will say "my head coach/his coaching staff" wanted the players I draft. So, it absolves him from taking the blame. Only in the case, like when he drafts Tua, Hunt, Waddle, and a couple others where he overruled the head coach. Still the problem remians...Grier, not whoever the head coach is since Grier has been the GM has ZERO eye for talent. Grier & McDaniel draft TWO slot WRs in 2024, while, they know, they needed two guards and a center, and a good backup to LT.
Exactly, defense kept that game close, when Skylar had chance to win it, choked big time. Nope, put in hunley, maybe he gets defense to play inspired. 😂 but we know our defense is soft. No this is flat on the front office, they could have drafted a qb, or how about what Pitt did they could have went out and got a qb to put pressure on Tua and create insurance for just this issue. I mean from this day forward every time Tua gets hit in the head we are first going to hold our breath, then the league is going to pull him or force the dolphins to sit him. That means we need a qb that can come in on a pinch. Skylar not that man, dont think Huntley is that person but maybe but we need a Fitzmagic type of person. I do not understand how the dolphins can operate this team with Tua always on the cusp of being on IR. This is all on the front office. I know the league is not supposed to collude w the teams but I doubt Tua coming back this season. NFL is not going to let someone get killed on the field.
It actually wouldn't be collusion. He needs to get cleared by an independent neurologist who works for the league after he gets cleared by team doctors and finishes all the steps of the concussion protocol.
Tiny tua should retire he's always injured he shrinks in the biggest moments against the good teams he can't win in cold weather. Chris Grier should be fired immediately for picking tiny tua and now paying him.
To continue I think the dolphin must the NFL curve the league is going back to a tuning game and big player not so much speed so when I look at what wrong is the 2 line s and that not coming back in 4 weeks a S Thompson should be grateful just like Tua. Anyone can play well with all these players NOT!!!! Tua is so limited but a team with a 2% chance to go to the SB now with out him is --100 sorry so long
I'm happy Tua got knocked out. The national pundits think there is a good chance he doesn't come back again this year. That's great. I was so tired of his physical limitations and inability to compete against good teams. Sayonara.
This is a means to an end.. an opportunity to move on. Get real people.. winning a superbowl with Tua was a longshot.. they had to bring in a head coach who could devise a system that would mask tuas deficiencies. Yea its similar to San Frans and shanahan/mcvays offense but McDaniels playbook is much smaller than thiers because of what tua cant do. Then you add on that he cant stay healthy and logic and common sense should tell you that its time to move on. Its skylars time now and McDaniel can open the playbook up now having a quaterback with an NFL arm. Im sick of hearing about tuas accuracy when the majority of the pass plays are bubble screens or passes thrown near the line of scrimmage and within 5 yards down past it. Yea tua can one read and throw to a spot but Skylar actually scans the field to find an open guy and can put the ball in spots tua cant because of the velocity of his throws. Also skylar is better at escaping the pocket and throwing the ball downfield so McDaniel has a chance to open the offense and get away from some of those one read plays that the rest of the league has obviously figured out how to stop. Not saying Skylar is the next big thing but lets be honest.. if you draft a quarterback in the sixth round and you keep him on the roster for 3 years.. its because you see talent there, so I wish people wouldnt be so dismissive of Skylar Thompson
Hi Allen this maybe long but don’t no how to get it out to dolphins fans and you my friend I disagree with on something but I like you any way wow right

To continue I think the dolphin must the NFL curve the league is going back to a tuning game and big player not so much speed so when I look at what wrong is the 2 line s and that not coming back in 4 weeks a
S Thompson should be grateful just like Tua. Anyone can play well with all these players NOT!!!! Tua is so limited but a team with a 2% chance to go to the SB now with out him is --100 sorry so long
GOOD MOOD... Wish i got paid $50 million for getting my bell rung! Fire Grier...
I'm happy Tua got knocked out. The national pundits think there is a good chance he doesn't come back again this year. That's great. I was so tired of his physical limitations and inability to compete against good teams. Sayonara.
19:22 "How about 'Do 1 point 1' and then Skylar doesn't have to do anything." Great, still giggling... ☺️
